これが活動再開を果たした2022年／2023年のスケジュール。本稿が公開されるのはコペンハーゲン公演の前日で、残すところ３公演という終焉間際です。その最終公演はストックホルムが予定されており、母国イギリスでの最終公演は本作の“GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL”。上記で言うところの「欧州#2」44公演目にあたるコンサートでした。エルトンの母国最終公演というだけで特別ですが、実は彼にとって“GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL”の初出演でもあった。すべてが特別尽くしな文字通り歴史的な一夜だったのです。
そんなステージを伝える本作は、もはや「完全オフィシャル級」としか表現しようがない超極上品。ただし、ここで『DODGER STADIUM 2022』をイメージするとちょっと違う。あれはディズニー製作の映画仕様だったわけですが、本作はあくまでも中継配信。すでに同フェスのGUNS N’ ROSES篇『Shades 1797』やFOO FIGHTERS篇『Shades 1795』が大好評を博しておりますが、本作も同じように通常スタイルのコンサート・プロショットなのです。もちろん、スタイルは通常であってもクオリティは特級。そもそも“GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL”自体、BBCがスポンサーに付いているフェスであり、音楽放送の歴史そのものでもある名門が本気を出した撮影はセンス／品質面でも現代最高。コンサート生放送の理想像を体現しているのです。
