Fleetwood Mac is one of the rare bands that has been active for over 40 years. The reason why I was able to continue such a long career is, of course, the wonderfulness of the music and the extraordinary efforts such as the unity between the members who were hit by withdrawal and joining. The biggest factor is the flexible attitude of changing the musicality according to the demands of the times and the tastes of the members. The formation can be traced back to the 1960s, but the fact that it was a blues band at the beginning can only be imagined by those who only know the later blockbuster Mac.
In the late 1960s and early 1970s, the blues rock boom was coming, especially in Britain. The formation of Fleetwood Mac followed that trend, but the boom soon disappeared. Mack moved his base of activities to the United States and California in 1974, but what he saw there was not a blues but a hard rock centered on a long improvisation. Of course, the environment surrounding rock at that time could not be categorized in one word, but the sound that pushed out the whole surface while being based on blues was in a state of declining. So Mack joined Stevie Nicks on vocals and made a big turn to the pop line.
It was in 1975 that Mack, who had moved from blues rock to pop music, released his first album, “Fleetwood Mac,” which welcomed Stevie Nicks. This attempt was a huge success, and the album won number one in the US, including single hits such as “Say You Love Me” and “Rianon.” Here, Mack’s path should have been convinced. And the album “Rumor” released in 1977 will be a further hit album. Moreover, it is not just a hit album, it monopolizes the US album chart number 1 for 31 weeks, sales exceed 17 million copies, and it has become a deciding factor for Mac’s popularity as well as its reputation as a historical masterpiece. It was. The first performance in Japan is being held at that time. This was also in 1977.
The next album after the blockbuster album that established itself as a star is often over-expected and annoying to all artists, but Mack’s album “Fang” following “Rumor” is no exception at that time. Due to the rapidly changing musical trends, production is difficult. As a result, it was released as a masterpiece of a 2-disc LP. There were many experimental songs with Buckingham’s intention, and although he did well in terms of sales, he could not surpass the previous work “Rumor”. However, the world tour that accompanies the album “Fang” proved that Mac was still popular, and the number of spectators did not decline.
The tour with the album “Fang” began on October 26, 1979 in Pocatello, Idaho, and for two years, it was a large-scale trip across the entire continent, including the United States, Japan, Oceania, and Europe. The total number of performances is 111. Especially in Japan, the first visit to Japan was only 4 performances, while the 2nd visit to Japan in 1980 included Kyoto, Gifu, Sapporo, Yokohama, Sendai, and Osaka, including 3 consecutive days at Budokan. The performance was held on a scale that was very popular in Japan at that time. This work has recorded the performance on February 16th from the continuous performance of the Osaka Festival Hall, which will decorate the shime of coming to Japan in 1980. The schedule for the 1980 performance in Japan is as follows.
February 3 Nippon Budokan
February 4 Nippon Budokan
February 5 Nippon Budokan
February 8 Kyoto Kaikan Hall 1
February 9 Gifu Civic Center
February 11 Hokkaido Welfare Pension Hall
February 13 Kanagawa Kenmin Hall
February 14 Miyagi Sports Center
February 16 Osaka Festival Hall
February 17 Osaka Festival Hall
The set list is similar to the one that came to Japan in December 1977, partly because only two years have passed since the last visit to Japan, but it is an indispensable hit song of the new album “Fang”. The biggest feature is that the music is played on the stage.
This work is the first sound source that has never been on the market until now, provided by those who attended the festival hall at that time. It is a high-quality sound source that cannot be thought of as the first sound source that has never appeared in the world. The excitement of the festival hall on the day spreads in front of you. The set list selected from the paired masterpieces “Rumor” and “Fang” can still be said to be Mack’s best song selection, and it is the complete recording of it with such a first appearance sound source. It would be very lucky for Japanese fans.
From the second large-scale performance in Japan, the performance at the Osaka Festival Hall on February 16, 1980 is completely recorded with high-quality sound with the first appearance sound source. After this, the members of Mac will shift their focus to solo activities, the activity as a band will be stagnant, and the next visit to Japan will be 10 years later. In that sense, it can be said that this is the last tour where you can listen to a number of representative songs on a real-time Mac. A press board with beautiful picture disc specifications for permanent storage. With Japanese obi.

Drum hero: BRAND X, which was also a project to demonstrate the true character of Phil Collins. A miracle live album that captures the precious performance by an absolute master is born.
What is imbued with this work is “September 21, 1979 West Hollywood Performance (Early Show)”. It is the superb audience recording. At the end of 1978, the legendary first visit to Japan, “AND THEN THERE WERE THREE Tour”, was followed by the three GENESIS members, who stopped their activities. I devoted 1979 to the solo year. Among them, Phil chose to participate in BRAND X’s new work “PRODUCT” and the live activities that followed. This work is a live album where you can experience the precious full show at its best. Of course, speaking of live at that time, it is familiar from the official excavation live album “LIVE AT THE ROXY LA”. First, let’s look back on the outline of the activities at that time on a schedule.
・ September 12-16: UK (4 performances)
“September 14,” PRODUCT “released”
・ September 20: San Francisco (2 performances)
・ September 21: The Roxy (2 performances) ← ★ Coco ★
・ September 22: The Roxy (2 performances)
・ September 23: The Roxy (2 performances) ← * Official LIVE AT THE ROXY LA
・ September 25: Chicago (2 performances)
・ September 26: New York (2 performances)
・ September 27: New York (2 performances)
・ September 29: Philadelphia performance
・ October 9: Appeared in Old Gray Whistle Test
“November-December” DUKE “production”
This is Phil Collins in 1979. Before and after the release of “PRODUCT”, he had four performances in the UK, but immediately after that, he went to the United States. We conducted a mini tour based on 2 performances a day. The record at that time is not perfect, but it is said that there are about 15 performances, 6 of which are continuous performances at the West Hollywood club “The Roxy”. This work was recorded in the first performance. Even though it was at the same venue as the official version “LIVE AT THE ROXY LA”, it was a completely different performance.
This work, which is a vacuum-packed show, is just the best. After all, since he is the original master of the absolute master Millard, I thought that he was not defeated by the official board “LIVE AT THE ROXY LA” … but that was not the case. It has completely surpassed the official version. Not “completely”. “Completely”. Well, “LIVE AT THE ROXY LA” itself is an excavation sound that is just a name, but even if it is left behind, the dimension that this work stands on is too amazing. The closeness of the narrow club and the stability and beauty unique to Mirrored stand out, and that’s why I would like you to discontinue “LIVE AT THE ROXY LA” right away and officially release this work instead.
The sound was outstanding even in the mirrored work, but it was possible because of the venue as well. Speaking of “The Roxy”, it is familiar to the GENESIS family, and it is a venue that has been used every time there are things like showcases and secret gigs. Mirrored, who loves GENESIS, has been repeatedly recorded, and he is familiar with its acoustic characteristics. It’s also a good opportunity to introduce “Mirrored’s The Roxy Collection”.
● Peter Gabriel

● GENESIS
“THE ROXY 1980 (Amity 621)”
● Steve Hackett
“THE ROXY 1981 (Amity 634)”
As you can see, the masterpiece recordings of Gabriel and Hackett who have already withdrawn are also in a row. This work is also the BRAND X edition. By the way, what is drawn with such an official transcendental sound is a full show where Phil’s transcendental technique is clear and clear. The set is the same as “LIVE AT THE ROXY LA”, but let’s organize it at the end.
● Product
・ Algon / Don’t Make Waves / Dance Of The Illegal Aliens (★) / … And So to F …
● Others
・ Abnormal behavior: Nuclear Burn
・ Moroccan Roll: Disco Suicide / Malaga Virgen
* Note: “★” marks are studio-recorded songs that Phil has not participated in.
…… And it looks like this. You can enjoy the fill version of “Dance Of The Illegal Aliens” that Mike Clark was hitting in the studio while concentrating and reducing the three pieces that Phil participated in, mainly the latest work “PRODUCT”.
Anyway, you can experience Phil’s transcendental technique in front of you with the superb mirrored sound that dismisses official products. It’s all about this. This work itself is BRAND X’s masterpiece, and it is a rare piece in the same venue collection of the GENESIS family. It is an absolute work that you can enjoy the best part of underground recording. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content.
★ Superb audience recording of “September 21, 1979 The Roxy, Performance (Early Show)” with Phil Collins also participating. It is a separate performance from the official version “LIVE AT THE ROXY LA”, and the sound produced by the original master of the absolute master Millard is (significantly!) Beyond the official. This is one of BRAND X’s masterpieces, where you can fully experience Phil’s transcendental skill in front of you.
1978年末に伝説の初来日で“AND THEN THERE WERE THREE Tour”を追えた3人GENESISは、そのまま活動を休止。
・9月22日:The Roxy(2公演)
LIVE AT THE ROXY LA

・10月9日:Old Grey Whistle Test出演

Fleetwood Mac’s first visit to Japan in 1977 should be named alongside the first visits of groups such as Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd in that it was realized at the height of the big name “rumors”. At the same time, it was very epoch-making that the performance in Japan was a “serious” challenge not only to the people themselves but also to their staff.
The greatest achievement was the epoch-making setting of hanging the PA speaker on the roof of the Budokan. At the Budokan, which was not yet compatible with the sound of rock concerts, it made an unprecedented live sound.
Due to this epoch-making acoustic setting, the audience recording that captured the Budokan for the first time in Japan was lined up with high-quality sound on average, but it is also a benefit of hanging the speaker from the ceiling. not.
Many high-quality McDonald’s sound sources have been released so far, but this completely debuted Audience Master also has excellent sound quality. The provider is Dave Mason, who will be released at the same time, and the taper that was in the limelight with Billy Joel’s masterpiece “TOKYO 1978”. He also made a recording at the Budokan.
Regarding Budokan, it is new to remember that the CD-R & DVD-R set of “BUDOKAN 1977 FINAL NIGHT”, which is the best audience in the area approaching the sound board from the UXBRIDGE label, was released, but thanks to the previous sound, this new sound source The sound quality of is also really wonderful.
In terms of the power of the sound board-like sound image, “BUDOKAN 1977 FINAL NIGHT” is in the lead, but this sound image is also quite on, and the quality is likely to be cool with a press CD. And unlike “BUDOKAN 1977-“, it is a big advantage that there are no foreign customers talking nearby.
Only from the ending of “You Make Loving Fun”, there was a cut by changing the cassette at the beginning of “I’m So Afraid”, but there was a cut using “BUDOKAN 1977 ~”.
The 1977 tour, which was the climax of Mac, has recently been unearthed in succession with the finest sound sources such as “SIN CITY 77: JON WIZARDO MASTER CASSETTES” in “LA FORUM 1977 2ND NIGHT: MIKE MILLARD ORIGINAL MASTER TAPES”. Although the sound source this time is monaural recording, it is not defeated by them.
Rather, listening to this Budokan reminds us that Mack, who had been playing high-quality performances easily through the tour, had finally reached the stage of completion in a foreign land that he arrived at at the end of the 1977 tour. .. After all, the sound quality is very good, so the solid performance feels really real.
A new superb audience created by a legendary night that resonated with the 1977 Budokan, which was packed with high-quality performances. It is guaranteed that even those who have “BUDOKAN 1977 FINAL NIGHT” can definitely enjoy it, and this is the first sound source that can be confidently recommended to a wide range of people from beginners to enthusiasts. Please enjoy it carefully.

Ian McDonald died on February 9, 2022. After his fight against cancer, he died at the age of 75. At this very moment, many musicians are praising Ian’s achievements, and fans all over the world are mourning. A symbolic work of the golden age, suitable for this week, is now available.
Ian has followed a variety of careers with KING CRIMSON, McDONALD AND GILES, and FOREIGNER, but FOREIGNER is the heyday of the big hit. It will also stab you in the “DOUBLE VISION” era. This work is a set of the symbolic live album and valuable images. This is a 2-disc set featuring the finest stereo soundboard recording of “December 1, 1978 Philadelphia Performance” and the audience shot of “July 22, 1978 Fresno Performance” as a bonus.
Speaking of 1978, the two tours “FIRST ALBUM Tour” / “DOUBLE VISION Tour” are interlaced, and the excavation of the official live album “LIVE AT THE RAINBOW ’78” is also new to my memory. In order to organize that area, let’s first check the position of the show from the schedule at that time.
・ February 3-7: North America # 1 (4 performances)
<< March “DOUBLE VISION” completed >>
・ March 18: CALIFORNIA JAM II appearance
・ March 30-April 5: First visit to Japan (4 performances)

A superb stereo sound board that is more vivid than the official one, and a historical image that overturns the common sense of the 70’s audience. It’s a masterpiece set that can’t be beaten by the true value of the original members. A two-disc set where you can meet Ian McDonald who was in the middle of glory. Now, please enjoy it to your heart’s content.
★ A 2-disc set featuring the finest stereo soundboard recording of “December 1, 1978 Philadelphia Performance” and the audience shot of “July 22, 1978 Fresno Performance” as a bonus. Philadelphia’s SBD sound source is attractive with a vivid mix with a bare core, and each sound of the six original members is splendidly separated and poured. On the other hand, Fresno’s AUD shot is a superb view of 8mm film and the sound is superb. A shocking image that overturns the common sense of “70’s 8mm film”. It’s a masterpiece set that can’t be beaten by the true value of the original members.
1978年と言えば、2つのツアー“FIRST ALBUM Tour”/“DOUBLE VISION Tour”が交錯しており、公式ライヴアルバム『LIVE AT THE RAINBOW ’78』の発掘も記憶に新しいところ。

Long, Long Way From Home/I Need You/Cold As Ice/The Damage Is Done/At War With The World/Starrider/Feels Like The First Time/Headknocker
Double Vision/Spellbinder(★)/Hot Blooded
※注:「★」印は公式『LIVE AT THE RAINBOW ’78』で聴けない曲。

The album “REGGATTA DE BLANC” and the single “Message in a Bottle” climbed to No. 1 in the UK, and the 1979 THE POLICE rushed to its peak. A live album that allows you to experience the highlight performance in a super-realistic way is born.
The highlight performance was held at “Richmond Sports Ground on August 24, 1979”. Yes, it is the best audience recording when I performed at the traditional British music festival “Reading Festival”. Speaking of 1979, the two tours “OUTLANDOS D’AMOUR Tour” / “REGGATTA DE BLANC Tour” are interlaced, and the meanings differ depending on the time. Let’s look back at the schedule at that time and confirm the position of the show.
“OUTLANDOS D’AMOUR Tour”
・ January 9-February 21: Europe # 1 (24 performances)
・ March 1st-April 9th: North America # 1 (30 performances)
・ April 12-25: Europe # 2 (3 performances)
・ April 27-May 25: North America # 2 (23 performances)
・ May 31st-June 24th: Europe # 3 (22 performances)
“REGGATTA DE BLANC Tour”
・ August 17-September 23: Europe # 4 (17 performances) ← ★ Coco ★
・ September 27-30: North America # 3a (4 performances)
“October 2” REGGATTA DE BLANC “released”
・ October 2nd-December 1st: North America # 3b (41 performances) ← * Official LIVE!
・ December 3-22: Europe # 5 (15 performances)
This is THE POLICE in 1979. “REGGATTA DE BLANC” was completed in August 1979, and the style is that the two tours switch between the two tours. The appearance at the Reading Festival of this work was the second performance of “Europe # 4”, which is such a turning point.
This work recorded at such a show is a tight and powerful recording of the best audience. It is the 1st Gene Master that was released recently, but it is extremely clear. The thick core of the performance sounds reach the ears and the original without a time lag, and the details are dense. It may be a guest record because it is published with the addition of “This is an audience recording”, but if you just listen to it, it is a super vivid feeling that you can only think of as FM broadcasting or IEMs (although it is impossible in the times).
There are various possible factors, but the biggest one is the site. It is customary for the Reading Festival to be held on a special stage at the Richmond Playground, which is a complete outdoor festival. For that reason, it is possible to directly aim for the sound output of PA, not just the echo component of the ceiling and walls. Of course, reading isn’t as simple as it sounds like a great recording. Outdoor recording is easily affected by the weather such as wind and rain, and the sound becomes extremely far away from the PA even a little. Perhaps the recorder who made this work a thing was familiar with the know-how in that area despite the 70’s. It captures the umami of the outdoors with a splendid sound that does not reflect the weaknesses while fully passing away.
In addition to that sound, this work is also the longest ever. The famous recording of this live was about 54 minutes, but this time the new master is about 58 minutes. Furthermore, the opening part, which was a little short in the online public master, is supplemented with the conventional recording, and it is a record update board with a total length of over 59 minutes.
What flows out of this work is the scorching full stage that will be the kick-off of the “REGGATTA DE BLANC Tour”. Speaking of 1979, you can hear the Boston performance on the official excavation board “LIVE!”, But the set of this work is similar and different. Let’s organize them while comparing them here.
● Outlandos d’Amour (8 songs)
・ Next to You / So Lonely / Truth Hits Everybody / Hole in My Life / Peanuts / Roxanne / Can’t Stand Losing You / Born in the 50’s
● Others (6 songs)
・ White Reggatta: Deathwish (★) / Walking on the Moon / Message in a Bottle / The Bed’s Too Big Without You
・ Single: Fall Out / Landlord
* Note: “★” marks are songs that cannot be heard on the official version “LIVE!”.
…… And it looks like this. The axis is clearly “OUTLANDOS D’AMOUR”, showing all songs except “Be My Girl—Sally” and “Masoko Tanga”. It is a style that interweaves the new song of “REGGATTA DE BLANC” that was not yet released. In particular, it is a special set with a repertoire of “Peanuts,” “Born in the 50’s,” “Fall Out,” and “Landlord,” including “Death wish,” which was premiered all over the world. And a great enthusiasm to draw such a group of famous songs. Sting at that time was 27 years old and had plenty of momentum just embarking on a world tour. Speaking of Reading, it is a famous festival that symbolizes his home country, and the tension that acts as a bird on the first day is ceilingless. The explosive tension at the end of multiple factors that are likely to raise the tension is drawn clearly with the best sound.
Reading festival was a big step for the bloody early THE POLICE. It is a new excavation 1st gene album that you can fully experience the historical site with the best sound. It was introduced from the Uxbridge label betting on the possibility of excavating the Omoto master, but the content and sound are new masterpieces that are suitable for permanent preservation press. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content.
★ The best audience recording of “August 24, 1979 Reading Festival”. As a newly excavated 1st Gene Master, the sound is extremely clear. The thick core of the performance sounds reach the ears and the original without a time lag, and the details are dense. It’s a super vivid recording that seems to be only FM broadcasting or IEMs (although it is impossible in the times). Moreover, the part between the performances is supplemented with another recording, and the longest record is updated. This is the second performance of the REGGATTA DE BLANC Tour, and it is a cultural heritage album where you can fully experience the historical stage that appeared at the super famous festival in your home country.

軸となっているのは明らかに『OUTLANDOS D’AMOUR』で、「Be My Girl—Sally」「Masoko Tanga」以外の全曲を披露。

ZZ TOP in 1986, who was a darling of the times with “AFTERBURNER”, which was the ultimate synth boogie. Introducing a live album where you can experience the best of the climax tour that conquered the entire earth.
It is “February 7, 1986 St. Paul performance” that is imbued with such a work. It is the best audience recording. Speaking of “AFTERBURNER World Tour”, it is the biggest business in ZZ TOP’s career. It was the climax of the climax. First, let’s look back at the whole view and check the position of the show.

This is 1985-1987 ZZ TOP. 1986 is known as the year with the most live performances in the history of ZZ TOP, which has exceeded 50 years, and it is a super big scale that also appears before and after. Moreover, in 1985, it occupied the British MONSTERS OF ROCK, and in 1987, it carried out the legendary first visit to Japan and the first invasion of the Southern Hemisphere. “ELIMINATOR” was the biggest hit in the album sales, but the tour was definitely the “AFTERBURNER World Tour”. The performance of St. Paul in this work is the best time for such a huge tour. It was the 8th performance of “North America # 2”, which was just getting on track.
This work recorded at such a show has the best sound. Actually, it was awakened by the master provided by the master “Crazy S.”, but anyway, it is very thick and beautiful. Since it’s the United States, it’s probably not a recording of Mr. “Crazy S.”, but if you say “It’s a Crazy S. work”, you’ll believe it. Not only is the core powerful, but the fine details are drawn vividly, and there is no sense of distance because it jumps into your ears without a time lag. In addition, the faint hall sound that cannot be discerned even when listening with headphones gives the core an exquisite luster and thickness without hiding the details.
I think it must be an audience recording because of the occasional lively cheers and clapping, but while I was immersed in it, my head became stupid, “What is the difference between a sound board and an audience in the first place?” Is it direct line recording or spatial recording with a microphone? The sound is so wonderful that the difference in such methods can be improved.
What is drawn in such a superb sound world is the full show of the golden age, which was even a symbol of the 1980s. Speaking of “AFTERBURNER World Tour” for us, the legendary first visit to Japan is the standard, and “AT BUDOKAN (Power Gate-126)” is also a standard at our shop. Finally, let’s organize the set while comparing.
● LONDON record era (6 songs)

ZZ TOP in the 1980s that won the world with two big hits of bold synth sounds “ELIMINATOR” and “AFTERBURNER”. After that, they returned to the origin as the scene changed, which is why they can no longer expect the brilliant sound of the 1980s. A gem where you can experience the best full show of climax that you can enjoy plenty of ballads and synths and boogie. Please experience it to your heart’s content.

2011 NIGHT RANGER released “SOMEWHERE IN CALIFORNIA”, a masterpiece of returning to the origin, with Joel Hawkstra of the current WHITESNAKE. Introducing an original recording that allows you to experience the performance in Japan.
What is imbued with such a work is “June 9, 2011 Namba Hatch performance”. It is the best audience recording. Since the restart, they have been visiting Japan on a regular basis, but during the Hawkstra era, 10 performances were realized twice in 2008 and 2011. First of all, let’s look back on the schedule at that time and confirm the position of the show.
“Released” SOMEWHERE IN CALIFORNIA “on June 8”
・ June 9: Osaka Namba Hatch ← ★ This work ★
・ June 10: Nagoya Bottom Line
・ June 12: Yamano Musical Instruments Main Store JamSpot (unplugged performance)
・ June 13; Shibuya C.C.Lemon Hall
・ June 14; Shibuya C.C.Lemon Hall
Above, all 5 performances. “June 12th” was an unplugged special performance with only invited guests, but the remaining 4 performances are usually live. The performance of this work in Osaka was the first day of my visit to Japan, the day after the release of the new work “SOMEWHERE IN CALIFORNIA”.
The sound of this work recorded at such a show is just superb. After all, it was Mr. “West Japan’s strongest taper” who is familiar in our shop that made this work a thing. He is a modern master who has no one on the right when he records HR / HM, but his best garden is nothing but “Namba Hatch”. I had high expectations that it was a matter of course for super-name recording, but it was still wonderful that I couldn’t breathe. A thick and thick core, a close contact feeling with zero sense of distance, a separate feeling that does not mix no matter how much the twin harmonies and choruses overlap, and a feeling of a different dimension where only the closed room feeling of the club is delicious even though there is no noise around Ease of listening. If you have noticed this article, you may have experienced the work of “Mr. Strongest”, but this work also does not stain the gold signboard … No, it is a super masterpiece that I would like to say more than ever. am.
The best sound that can be said to be more than a sound board is a full show where the momentum of “SOMEWHERE IN CALIFORNIA” is doubled by stage tension. Although it was six and a half years in the Joel era, only acoustic was left when it came to official live performances, so it’s a good opportunity, so let’s organize the set here.
● Classics (12 songs)
・ Dawn Patrol: Sing Me Away / Eddie’s Comin’Out Tonight / Don’t Tell Me You Love Me
・ “Midnight Madness: Touch of Madness / When You Close Your Eyes / Sister Christian / (You Can Still) Rock In America
・ Seven Wishes: Sentimental Street / Goodbye / Four in the Morning
・ Big Life: The Secret of My Success
・ Damn Yankees: Coming of Age
● 2010s (5 songs)
・ Somewhere in California: Rock’N Roll Tonite / Growing’ Up in California / Lay It on Me / No Time to Lose Ya
・ High Road: L.A. No Name
…… And it looks like this. The balance is “classic 2/3 + new song 1/3”, but what is still noteworthy is the new song group of “SOMEWHERE IN CALIFORNIA”. It’s the day after the album’s release, but it starts with “Rock’N Roll Tonite” and interweaves in between the classics. It’s also zero discomfort, and the permeating melody and cheerful glue are the same as in the past. The extremely rare “No Time to Lose Ya”, which seems to be premiered on this day, is irresistible with a super catchy melody that never disappears once you listen to it. That’s exactly what “that NIGHT RANGER” is reviving. At the heart of it is definitely Joel Hawkstra. The classics are drawn without any discomfort, and the light and beautiful twin solo of the new song “Growin’Up in California” is also sharp and uplifting.
NIGHT RANGER from the Hawkstra era that was really really great. After that, Hawkstra moved to WHITESNAKE and gained popularity, but to be honest, it was NIGHT RANGER that he really shined. This work is an electric live board of the Hawkstra era that could not be realized in the official work. Yes, the quality of this work is on a level that even serves as an “official substitute”. A new masterpiece that I would like to recommend with all my might to those who have experienced the site at that time and those who have been overlooked. Here is the birth of a hundred.
★ The best audience recording of “June 9, 2011 Namba Hatch performance”. It is a brand name by Mr. “West Japan’s strongest taper” who is familiar with our shop, and it has a thick and thick core, a close contact feeling with zero sense of distance, a separate feeling that does not mix even if twin harmonies and choruses overlap, and the hustle and bustle of the surroundings. Even though there is no such thing, only the feeling of a closed room in the club is delicious. You can fully enjoy the precious new songs of “SOMEWHERE IN CALIFORNIA” and the classics revived by Hawkstra’s guitar. It is a new masterpiece that acts as an “official substitute” for the electric live board of the Hawkstra era, which was not realized in the official work.
《6月8日『SOMEWHERE IN CALIFORNIA』発売》
・6月12日:山野楽器本店JamSpot(アンプラグド公演)
・6月13日;渋谷C.C.Lemonホール
・6月14日;渋谷C.C.Lemonホール
Sing Me Away/Eddie’s Comin’ Out Tonight/Don’t Tell Me You Love Me
Touch of Madness/When You Close Your Eyes/Sister Christian/(You Can Still) Rock In America
Sentimental Street/Goodbye/Four in the Morning
The Secret of My Success
Coming of Age
Rock ‘N Roll Tonite/Growin’ Up in California/Lay It on Me/No Time to Lose Ya
L.A. No Name

Dave Mason’s first performance in Japan was realized in 1977, when he was at the height of his popularity, and it was a great success every day. For that reason, there were few items and sound sources excavated, and mania was made to feel lonely.
Meanwhile, the masterpiece “LIVE AND REHEARSAL 1977” from the nostalgic MASTERPORT label was discovered in the 21st century. It was only recorded by the staff of the record company, and it was a surprising content that even the rehearsal was recorded in addition to the live performance.
Regarding the live performance, he recorded the stage on May 17th, which is the first day of the first performance in Japan, but it was regrettable that the beginning and end of the live were not recorded.
Even so, it was a release that received high praise from enthusiasts because it was a valuable sound source for Mason’s first visit to Japan, but a new audience recording of the first performance in Japan since then has finally been unearthed!
The precious sound source that enthusiasts around the world will pay attention to is the stage recorded on May 18th, which was the second day of the performance in Japan. It was the taper of the masterpiece “TOKYO 1978” that finally unearthed Billy Joel’s first performance in Japan, which had been wrapped in a veil for many years, who made this recording last year.
The monaural cassette recording is just a vintage audience. Compared to the actual part of “LIVE AND REHEARSAL 1977”, I feel a little distance from the sound image, but it is still really easy to hear. After all, “LIVE AND ~” was the first day, but this time it is too high point that the stage of the second day, which is the first appearance, is completely recorded.
In the first place, it was the best timing that the big hit album “Flowing as it was” was released and the performance in Japan was realized one month later.
Therefore, “We Just Disagree”, which will be Mason’s representative song later, is also being performed as a new song that has just been released, and it is refreshing to finish the performance without much excitement. Only Mason, who was at the height of his popularity in the United States at that time, had conversations with Americans living in Japan around the taper, but even those people had a light reaction to the song. Rather, they didn’t make too much noise, which also helped to make it easier to hear.
And the performance of the iron wall by the same members as the live album “Passion” which also recorded a hit is impeccable, and high-quality performance is easy with “Goin’Down Slow” where the late Mike Finnigan takes lead vocals. It’s just a sigh of breath to recreate the world of the live album.
From there, “Look at You, Look at Me” was a 15-minute enthusiastic performance. The place where you can hear it again without getting bored is the place that seems to be Mason at the peak. In “LIVE AND REHEARSAL 1977”, the recording was finished because of the length of this song, but this time the value of this new sound source that was recorded firmly until the end of the live after that is too high.
And while performing live in Japan, which I visited for the first time, it was only on the second day that he told me a more relaxed stage after completing the previous day. It is a super valuable first appearance recording that you can enjoy the nostalgic Mason’s first visit to Japan to your heart’s content with a vintage sound quality!
そこから続いた「Look at You, Look at Me」に至っては15分にも及ぶ大熱演。

The first visit to Japan of the AEROSMITH legend, which was realized two months before KISS. A new excavation live album that vacuum-packed “February 45 years ago” that shook the archipelago is now available.
The performance of “February 9, 1977: Nippon Budokan” was imbued with this work. It is the excellent audience recording. AEROSMITH’s first visit is historic, but the visit to Japan itself, which was realized in the golden 70’s, is only once. We have archived various records because of the “incident” that is too serious. Let’s start by organizing the collection from a monumental schedule.
・ January 29: Gunma Sports Center
・ January 31 “ROCKS BUDOKAN”
・ February 1st “NAGOYA 1977”
・ February 4 “EAST SIDE WEST SIDE BLUES (Kyuden Gymnasium)”
・ February 6: Kyoto Kaikan Hall 1
・ February 7: Osaka Festival Hall
・ February 9: Nippon Budokan ← ★ This work ★
* Only representative works on each day.
Above, all 7 performances. When I first came to Japan, I showed the popularity of visiting not only Higashi-Meihan but also Kyoto, Fukuoka and Gunma. Among them, the highlight was the two performances at Nippon Budokan. What is recorded in this work is the second day of the Budokan, which was also the last day of the entire tour.
This work, which was vacuum-packed on the last day of the historical tour, is a shocking first appearance sound source. This show itself is famous for the recordings of the people involved, also known as “ROCKS TOKYO (Shades 168)”, but this work is a completely different recording. It is the original master by the same recorder as KISS’s “BUDOKAN 1977 2ND NIGHT (Zodiac 498)” which was permanently preserved this week.
And the sound is also excellent. It is undeniable that there is a distance from the KISS version, probably because of the position, but the freshness of the master is the same. Not only dubbing marks but also aging deterioration is not felt at all, and every corner of the warm sound is fresh. The playing sound is a little dango (apparently it was a characteristic of the sound output at the site, it was the same even if it was already released), but Steven Tyler’s vocal that seems to squeeze through the middle of it is really vivid. And what’s even more delicious is the real presence of being in a historic site. “The 70’s Western music” is a clapping of hands with a yellow roar. On the other hand, the essential AEROSMITH is roaring a wild and wild ensemble (rather than the resurrection period), and the space where the two collide with tremendous tension is a chaos that can only be the legendary first visit to Japan.
The strange heat can be fully enjoyed in all songs, but it is the opening scene that shows a particularly strong explosive power. While the theme of the movie “Jaws (first generation!)” And the opening BGM such as Bach are playing, the guards’ attention and the audience’s attention such as “Don’t stand”, “Descent!” The angry flies. From the experiences at that time, it seems that people were rushing toward the front of the arena at the same time as the performance started, but you can see that the devilish atmosphere is picked up (probably because of that, security at KISS). It seems that it has become stricter and it has been prohibited to stand up).
Of course, even in such a noisy atmosphere, the sound of AEROSMITH’s performance will not give up the leading role even if it starts. Finally, let’s organize the contents of such a show.
・ Birth of the Beast: Mama Kin / Dream On
·fly! Aerosmith: S.O.S. (Too Bad) / Lord Of The Thighs / Same Old Song And Dance (★) / Train Kept A Rollin’
・ Toys in the Attic: Big Ten Inch Record (★) / Sweet Emotion / Walk This Way / Toys In The Attic
・ Rocks: Lick And A Promise (★) / Rats In The Cellar (★) / Last Child / Get The Lead Out (★)
Anyway, a new excavation of shock. He visited Japan many times after his resurrection, but his mood and performance were completely different when he first came to Japan. It is a treasure album that you can experience the strange space with ultra-real sound. An item that would have been permanently preserved if there were no historically renowned official recordings. Please experience it to your heart’s content.
★ Excellent audience recording of “February 9, 1977: Nippon Budokan” performance. The original master by the same recorder as KISS’s “BUDOKAN 1977 2ND NIGHT (Zodiac 498)”, the master freshness that does not feel dubbing marks or deterioration over time is exquisite, and every corner of the warm sound is fresh. The playing sound is a little dango, probably because of the sound output, but Steven Tyler’s vocals that squeeze through the middle of the sound are really vivid. It is a historical new excavation live album that is a must-listen for the strange mood that angry waves fly around at the beginning of the performance.
Mama Kin/Dream On
S.O.S. (Too Bad)/Lord Of The Thighs/Same Old Song And Dance(★)/Train Kept A Rollin’
Big Ten Inch Record(★)/Sweet Emotion/Walk This Way/Toys In The Attic
Lick And A Promise(★)/Rats In The Cellar(★)/Last Child/Get The Lead Out(★)
