TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND’s latest visit to Japan after 4 years has finally been completed. The original recording of the Western Japan edition, which follows the Tokyo edition, which has become a rush for high-quality recordings, is now available.
This work is inspired by the “October 24, 2023: Zepp Nagoya” performance. It is the super best audience recording. The Japan tour has just finished, and now is the time for a release rush. To avoid confusion, first organize your collection by date.

All 6 performances above. A video work will also be released this week, but the above is just a collection of live albums. Last week, we compiled 2 sets of 4 performances in Tokyo, but the one in Nagoya is a live album of one performance.
This work is truly a masterpiece. I’m sure many of you have already guessed this, but this work was created by our well-known master, “Western Japan’s Strongest Taper.” Even in our store’s collection, the works of Mr. “Strongest” consistently boast high quality, and this work perfectly meets that expectation. There is no sense of distance in the intensely active and powerful core, and the very faint hall sound that you only notice when you listen carefully with headphones is truly fascinating. Although it absorbs the lively applause, it is quiet during the performance, and above all, the performance sound and vocals that are far away from the audience overwhelm everything.
Well, this is the “strongest” recording, so it’s the same as usual, but what’s more than usual is the sense of separation. After all, TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND is a large family of 12 members. Despite this, the ensemble does not form a clump, and even when intertwined, it does not mix. On the other hand, even though you can feel the spaciousness, each note of the melody and rhythm has a clear outline. This Japan tour will be the 5th performance of this work, but if you compare it with the Tokyo edition the other day, it will be similar to the recordings on the first and third days.
What is depicted with such “strongest” sound is a full show that changes daily and is unpredictable. The set for all performances in Japan has already been revealed, so let’s check out the “Limited Songs Only in Nagoya” and organize them.

…and it looks like this. The Nagoya limited edition songs are two cover songs, and there is a lot of overlap with other songs. Rather, it was a set with the best selection of songs that could be said to be the “basic form of coming to Japan in 2023.” Of course, it is not just a collection of standard songs, but also a wide range of new songs and Jeff Beck’s “Beck’s Bolero,” which became a hot topic.
The four albums of “I AM THE MOON” were bold, but the tour, which took advantage of the vast amount of new songs and dynamically changed sets, was also intense. This TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND is a must-see as each performance is like a different tour. Please enjoy this week’s new masterpiece of master sound to the fullest.

ついに完遂したTEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND４年ぶりの最新来日。ハイクオリティ録音の猛ラッシュになった東京編に続く西日本編のオリジナル録音が登場です。
そんな本作に吹き込まれているのは「2023年10月24日：Zepp Nagoya」公演。その超極上オーディエンス録音です。ジャパン・ツアーは終わったばかりで、今はリリース・ラッシュのタイミング。混乱しないよう、まずは日程でコレクション整理をしていきましょう。

以上の全６公演。今週は映像作もリリースとなりますが、上記はあくまでライヴアルバムのコレクションです。先週は東京４公演を２セットでまとめましたが、名古屋は１公演単独のライヴアルバムです。
そんな本作は、まさに極上の銘品。もう予想が付いている方も多いと思いますが、本作を手掛けたのは当店の馴染みの名手“西日本最強テーパー”氏。当店コレクションでも“最強”氏の作品は安定して高いクオリティを誇っており、本作もその期待に見事に応えてくれる。猛烈にオンで力強い芯には距離感など微塵も見られず、ヘッドフォンで耳を澄ませてようやく気づく程度の極うっすらとしたホール鳴りは実に艶やか。生々しい喝采も吸い込んではいますが、演奏中は静かですし、何よりオーディエンス離れした演奏音やヴォーカルがすべてを蹂躙するのです。
まあ、この辺は“最強”氏録音なのですからいつも通りなのですが、いつも以上なのはセパレート感。何しろ、TEDESCHI TRUCKS BANDは12人の大所帯。それにも関わらずアンサンブルが塊にならず、絡み合っても混じらない。その一方、広がりをしっかりと感じるのに、メロディやリズムの１音１音は輪郭までくっきりとしている。今回のジャパンツアーは本作で５公演目になりますが、先日の東京篇と比較するなら初日・３日目録音に近い感じでしょうか。
そんな“最強”サウンドで描かれるのは、激しい日替わりで予測が付かないフルショウ。すでに来日全公演のセットも判明していますので、「名古屋だけの限定曲」をチェックしつつ整理しておきましょう。

……と、このようになっています。名古屋の限定曲はカバー２曲で、他の日との被りが多め。むしろ「2023年来日の基本形」とも言えるベスト選曲的なセットでした。もちろん定番曲を集めているのではなく、幅広い新曲群や話題になったジェフ・ベックの「Beck’s Bolero」も披露してくれます。
４作に渡る『I AM THE MOON』も大胆でしたが、その膨大な新曲を活かして豪快にセットを入れ替えるツアーも強烈でした。１公演１公演がまるで違うツアーのように聴き逃せない今回のTEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND。どうぞ、今週も名手サウンドの新名盤で存分にお楽しみください。
