EARTH, WIND & FIRE is still dancing the world beyond the 50th anniversary of its debut. Introducing a live album where you can fully experience the latest stage.
It is “July 8, 2022 Noblesville performance” that is imbued with such a work. It is the transcendental audience recording. Currently, they were on the circuit all over the United States with SANTANA’s coupling, but the other day Carlos Santana was urgently transported due to heat stroke during the live. In order to organize such a recent situation, let’s check from the tour schedule currently in progress.

This is the EARTH, WIND & FIRE schedule that has been announced so far. Not all were coupling, and some performances were in the form of the opening of SANTANA. Carlos Santana collapsed at the end of “North America # 2” at “July 5th Clarkston Performance”. At that time, “North America # 2” had two performances left, and was held independently by EARTH, WIND & FIRE. The Noblesville performance of this work was the concert that was the final performance (By the way, Santana is still undergoing medical treatment and will return to the tour from July 26th).
This work, which was recorded at the scene where it became a headliner unexpectedly, is a transcendental audience recording …, maybe. No, it’s definitely an audience recording because the person who recorded it is open to the public, but the sound that flows out is something that makes me wonder, “Where is this guest record?” Sound board no matter where or how you listen … No, it’s an official work. It’s not a live album, it’s as beautiful as a studio recording. Of course, the performance has a lively feeling, and there is a lot of cheers between the songs. Everything is definitely live, but only the sound quality is studio work grade. Just as it is meaningless to say “the core is …” and “the details are …” to the studio album, the sound rejects such commentary in this work as well.
Recently, the latest recordings of the scenes that have been restarted after overcoming the new Korona-ka have arrived one after another. The quality of 2022 is amazing. However, even in that, the sound of this work is outstanding. Rather than saying “2022 new standard sound!”, It was a shock as if you suddenly heard a future recording on a time machine. What’s more, I can’t believe that this is an audience recording through space … no matter how many times I listen to it.

Of the 18 songs shown in this work, 15 songs without the “★” mark are single hit songs. Moreover, even though it is not single-cut, “Reasons” is also an essential song for live performances, and you can understand how the best Greatest Hits are.
Even so, it is a terrible sound to return. It is said that such a sound is live and can be recorded with a microphone. そんな本作に吹き込まれているのは「2022年７月８日ノーブルズビル公演」。その超絶級オーディエンス録音です。現在の彼らはSANTANAのカップリングで全米をサーキットしていたのですが、つい先日カルロス・サンタナがライヴ中に熱中症で緊急搬送される騒ぎとなりました。そんな近況を整理する意味でも、現在進行中のツアー・スケジュールからチェックしてみましょう。

これが現在までに公表されているEARTH, WIND & FIREのスケジュール。すべてがカップリングというわけではなく、幾つかの公演がSANTANAのオープニングというカタチでした。そんな中でカルロス・サンタナが倒れたのは「北米#2」終盤となる“７月５日クラークストン公演”でのこと。その時点で「北米#2」は２公演が残されており、EARTH, WIND & FIREの単独で開催。本作のノーブルズビル公演は、その最終公演にあたるコンサートでした（ちなみに、サンタナは現在も療養中であり、７月26日からツアーに復帰する予定です）。
期せずしてヘッドライナーとなった現場で記録された本作は、超絶級のオーディエンス録音……です、たぶん。いや、録音した本人が公開しているので確実にオーディエンス録音なのですが、流れ出るサウンドは「これのどこが客録？」と首をかしげ、耳を疑うもの。どこをどう聴いてもサウンドボード……いや、オフィシャル作品。それもライヴアルバムではなく、スタジオ録音かのように美しいのです。もちろん、演奏には生の躍動感が宿っていますし、曲間には喝采も沸く。何もかもがライヴには間違いないのですが、サウンド・クオリティだけがスタジオ作品級。スタジオ・アルバムに対して「芯が……」「ディテールが……」と語っても無意味なように、本作もそうした解説を音が拒絶してくるのです。
最近は新型コロナ禍を乗り越えて再起動したシーンの最新録音も次々と到着。2022年のクオリティは目を見張るばかりです。しかし、その中にあっても本作のサウンドは群を抜いている。「2022年の新基準サウンド！」と言うよりは、いきなりタイムマシンで未来録音を聴かされたような衝撃。しかも、これが空間を介したオーディエンス録音だとは……やはり、何度聴いても信じられません。
