Mike Millard’s master excavation project that cast a ray of light on the world filled with the new corona. The latest bullet is THE TUBES!
It was “February 22, 1978 Los Angeles performance” that was imbued with such a work. It is the superb audience recording. Speaking of THE TUBES, it was a dark pot rock that went beyond the simmering simmering, but its true value was live. 1978 was also the year when the historic official live album “WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM LIVE” was released, which made the charm known to the world. First, let’s look back on that process and confirm the position of the show.

● 1977

・ June 10-August 6: North America # 2 (14 performances)
・ October 21-31: North America # 3 (8 performances)
・ November 6th-December 7th: Europe # 1 (18 performances) ← * Official

● 1978
“February” WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM LIVE “released”
・ February 14-April 15: North America # 4 (43 performances) ← ★ Coco ★
・ April 22-June 14: Europe # 2 (22 performances)
・ September 9: Knebworth performance
・ November 20-December 31: North America # 5 (3 performances)

This is THE TUBES in 1977/1978. “WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM LIVE” was produced in “Europe # 1”, which was their first overseas tour, and was released in early 1978. The Los Angeles performance of this work was the 10th performance of the US tour “North America # 4” that started immediately after that.
It was completely unexpected that Millard was recording THE TUBES, but the sound was as expected. The extra-thick core, on-direct feeling, and delicate details are at the highest level, comparable to the official sound, and on top of that, it also has the reality and beauty of sound that cannot be achieved with a sound board. You can fully enjoy the mirrored sound that has been proven in many historical masterpieces.
And the content of the show is also shocking. “WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM LIVE” was also a live album of about 73 minutes with a 2-disc LP, but this work is a full live album of over 117 minutes, which is more than 40 minutes long. Of course, there are plenty of diverse repertoires. Here, let’s organize it while comparing it with the official name board.

● Original album
・ THE TUBES: What Do You Want From Life? / Mondo Bondage / Halloe s (★) / Boy Crazy / White Punks On Dope
・ YOUNG AND RICH: Don’t Touch Me There / Stand Up And Shout
・ NOW: God-Bird-Change / Smoke (La Vie en Fumer)
・ REMOTE CONTROL: Be Mine Tonight (★) / Getoverture (★) / Telecide (★)
● Others
・ WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM LIVE: Overture / Got Yourself A Deal / Show Me A Reason / Special Ballet / Crime Medley / I Was A Punk Before You Were A Punk / I Saw Her Standing There
・ Others: It’s Not Unusual (★)
* Note: The “★” mark is a song that cannot be heard in the official live work “WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM LIVE”.

…… And it looks like this. Basically, while following “WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM LIVE”, the new song of the next work “REMOTE CONTROL” which has not been released yet is shown as soon as possible. In addition, the debut work “Haloes” and Tom Jones’ cover “It’s Not Unusual” are also included. Of course, in the case of THE TUBES, the increase in the number of songs is not just a volume increase, but is directly linked to a colorful breadth. The “fun” that “WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM LIVE” was playing is exploding.
More specifically, it’s not just about playing. For example, “Intermission”, which was omitted above, is not just a break, but a short film is being played, and the sound of the hunger is also recorded. It is natural that they were cut in the musical work “WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM LIVE”, but their show has these elements scattered all over the place. In this work, you can fully experience “True Life THE TUBES” that you could not know even in the historical masterpiece “WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM LIVE”.
It is a collaboration of “Mirrored x THE TUBES” with the highest degree of surprise and topicality, but the content was also a historical proof that deeply digs out the true value of THE TUBES. Their stage, which they intended to know from the masterpiece “WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM LIVE”, was much deeper and more fun. A miracle live album where you can fully experience the whole picture with an absolute master sound. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content.

★ Superb audience recording of “February 22, 1978 Los Angeles performance”. The sound produced from the original cassette of the absolute master Mike Millard is transcendent (as usual), and the thick core, on-direct feeling, and fine details are even on the official board “WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM LIVE”. Not lose. Moreover, the content goes far beyond the official live work, including the new songs of the next work “REMOTE CONTROL” which has not been released yet, the debut work “Haloes”, and the cover of Tom Jones “It’s Not Unusual”. ing. It is a new masterpiece with a surprising full score that reveals the true value of THE TUBES that even the official masterpiece could not convey.

THE TUBES。『WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM LIVE』は彼ら初の海外ツアーでもあった「欧州#1」で制作され、翌1978年初頭にリリースされました。
『WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM LIVE』も2枚組LPで約73分のライヴアルバムだったわけですが、本作は40分以上も長い117分超のフル・ライヴアルバムなのです。

基本は『WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM LIVE』を踏襲しつつ、まだリリースされていない次作『REMOTE CONTROL』の新曲を早くも披露。 『WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM LIVE』が振りまいていた「楽しさ」そのものが爆増しているのです。
本作は、歴史的名盤『WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM LIVE』でも知り得なかった「真の生THE TUBES」をフル体験できるのです。
