The finale of Keith Moon’s live tour during his lifetime was held at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto in 1976. On this day, “Recorder 1” recorded in monaural has been around for a long time, and the nostalgic best title based on the same sound source was “LAST STAND WITH KEITH MOON”. It is not only a historic day, but also a fulfilling performance worthy of the final day of the tour. For that reason, among enthusiasts, it was already a day with a high reputation at the time of “recorder 1”.
However, in recent years, JEMS has discovered “Recorder 2” which easily surpasses “Recorder 1″ in terms of stereo recording quality. The masterpiece “KEITH’S FINAL LIVE” was released immediately after that. Is this the last live? However, in 2018, an upper version of the same sound source suddenly appeared. You can understand it with just one listen, and if it’s such a wonderful upgrade, there’s no reason not to release it on a limited press CD…So the WARDOUR label’s best-selling “DEFINITIVE TORONTO 1976″ was immediately released.
This album is sold out because it is literally the definitive version of Keith’s last stage performance with excellent sound quality. Naturally, there were calls for a re-release, but with a sound source of such high historical value, a stable supply is inevitable.

There was a feeling that it had already been mastered at the time of “DEFINITIVE TORONTO 1976” (hereinafter referred to as the “already released edition”), and a straight reissue was possible, but this time, “KEITH’S FINAL LIVE” was released. “GRAF ZEPPELIN” has rewritten “recorder 2” from scratch. It is recorded with a different taper from “TORONTO 1975” from a year ago, which is currently on sale in Toronto, and its big appeal is the rich sense of presence and clarity instead of the active sound image that was there.
This unique listening experience was noticeable even on the previously released editions, but the overhaul of “GRAF ZEPPELIN” has improved the natural listening experience. Also, in Keith’s MC before the start of the “TOMMY” part, the taper of “recorder 2” had a tape change, and as a result his MC was missing, but this time it was supplemented from “recorder 1”. . This not only allows for the longest recording period, but also allows you to reaffirm the appeal of the rich and spacious sound quality of “Recorder 2”.
If you listen to it with headphones, there is no doubt that you will be overwhelmed by the upper feeling of the sound quality and comfort. On the other hand, if you play something loud through the speakers, you’ll instantly be transported back to Maple Leaf Gardens in 1976. Once again, I can assure you that this is an excellent audience that everyone from beginners to enthusiasts can enjoy with peace of mind.

In the first place, during the tour from 1975 to 1976, there were several accidents that unexpectedly held Keith back, and the most infamous one was the song that was heard on the nostalgic masterpiece “BOSTON 1976”. In Boston in March, Keith fainted after two songs. After that, there were many ups and downs as he got drunk at a launch at the end of a short summer tour and was rushed to the hospital where he was hospitalized for over a week. Still, by the final leg of the tour, including this one in Toronto, the band had reached a rock-solid level. In particular, Keith’s play is remarkable, and it is also a big attraction that his state of concentrating on drumming as a driving force that does not let this day be just the last day is also captured with stunning sound quality.
From “My Wife” sung by John at the beginning, Keith’s drumming is very clear, and from there it reaches its first peak with “Magic Bus”. The performance in which the four members competed perfectly was amazing. And after all, speaking of this day, it was a high-tension performance after “Summertime Blues”. Keith’s drumming is amazing as he follows Pete perfectly no matter which direction he moves. That is why Pete started to fully open the engine and show off the draft of “Who Are You”. This scene gives me goosebumps no matter how many times I hear it.
In Pete’s biography, there is an episode about this day in which he and John praised each other and said, “We were able to play a rare performance,” at the post-concert reception. It was the final day of the tour and Keith’s last. tour show. The exquisite audience document that captures the legendary day that unexpectedly ended in beauty has been updated by GRAF ZEPPELIN!

(Remaster Memo)

★Rec1…Last Stand with Keith Moon (2CD) monaural Aud sound source ★Used for compensation in some parts
★Rec2…JEMS stereo Aud sound source ★Main sound source this time too

★JEMS’ familiar Rec2 stereo Aud sound source has been remastered from scratch.
★ Corrected band adjustment and phase
As a result, the sound is similar to the previous edition, it is powerful and has a sharp sound, but the phase has been corrected,
Furthermore, the applause has not been processed to remove it, so it may feel somewhat natural.
Also, the previous version had a somewhat seaweed waveform, but this time the waveform is not crushed as much as possible.

★As with the previous edition, the missing (MC on Disc 2 head) has been compensated with monaural Rec 1 sound source to the extent possible.
★I Can’t Explain The 2-minute noise part was dealt with by inserting a similar part as in the previous edition.
This will probably feel more comfortable than using a separate sound source.

Last Stand with Keith Moon(2CD)モノラルAud音源 ★一部で補填に使用

★I Can’t Explain 2
