The legendary stage was realized on “August 27, 1977”. This work is a superb audience recording that vacuum-packed the scene. Speaking of 1977, there was also a change of Gary Moore and Brian Robertson, and it was also a time when the meaning was greatly different with a slight date difference. First, let’s look back at the whole activity and check the position of the show.

This is THIN LIZZY in 1977/1978. At the end of 1976, Lobo was injured in a fight and withdrew. Until the early spring of 1977, Gary served as a substitute, but Robo returned after the production of “BAD REPUTATION”. This work’s “Reading Festival” appearance is the 8th performance of “Europe # 1”, which is immediately after returning to Robo. If you have noticed this article, you may also know the soundboard album “DEFINITIVE PHILADELPHIA 1977 (Zodiac 554)”, which is the original story of “LIVE AND DANGEROUS”, but this work is about two months before that.
The 1977 “Reading Festival” was held for three days from June 26th to 28th, and THIN LIZZY appeared as a Chunichi bird. Such a historic stage is also known for its name recording, but this work is the latest and highest peak update board. It is a brand that has been digitized directly from the 2nd Gene Cassette that was discovered very recently. In fact, the sound is the best ever. Even in the past, the clearness of zero echoes that seems to be an outdoor festival was outstanding, but this work has further increased brightness.
“Its power is obvious from the beginning.” The first song “Soldier Of Fortune” has Phil’s vocals in a gentle keyboard and guitar sound, but the conventional master had a singing voice buried in the chord sound. However, the new master this time has a clear vocal, and you can listen to every word of the lyrics. Moreover, this is not a remaster effect. The master freshness is simply good, and the outlines are clearly drawn because even the fine details are left clean. As a result, the melody emerges vividly without having to equalize.
And when the band comes in, it’s even more vivid. The twin harmonies are so beautiful that the sound of each guitar is beautifully drawn, and you can even feel the resonance of the body. Supporting the wildly dancing harmonies, the bass that seems to break in has a crisp attack sound that thunders, and while it creates a groove like a string of beads, each note never mixes. Although there is no mistake in the timbre of Odins, the listening response is no different from the highest quality sound board.
The ultra-clear sound of such a soundboard barefoot depicts the stage of the champion who conquered the traditional British festival. It’s a set for festivals, so it’s usually shorter than a full set, but it’s about 65 minutes long, and it’s a concentration of deadly songs from the golden age. Here, let’s check the richness,
Jailbreak (5 songs)
・Jailbreak/Warriors/Cowboy Song/The Boys Are Back In Town/Emerald
● Others (7 songs)
・Notoriety: Soldier Of Fortune (★)/Dancing In The Moonlight/Bad Reputation (★)
・Other: Still In Love With You / Massacre (*) / Don’t Believe A Word (*) / Baby Drives Me Crazy
*Note: “★” marks are “LIVE AND DANGEROUS”, and “*” marks are songs that could not be heard in “DEFINITIVE BOSTON 1977”.
… and it looks like this. Speaking of the masterpiece Odins recording in 1977, the press masterpiece “DEFINITIVE BOSTON 1977 (Zodiac 541)” reigns, but this work can not be heard there “Massacre” “Don’t Believe A Word” can also experience And above all, the enthusiasm that faces the famous festival is wonderful. Even in the live report at that time, it seems that the most acclaimed in 3 days, but you can see that it is not an exaggeration. Phil’s singing voice on board is powerful without shouting, and the tension is glossy. No matter where you listen to it, you should be singing as if you are mumbling, but strangely enough, the poetry gradually permeates your heart.
In 1977, THIN LIZZY was at its peak both in terms of popularity and music, not to mention the daimyo board “LIVE AND DANGEROUS”. This work is a live album where you can experience the highlight festival at its climax with the finest quality of the sound board barefoot. A piece that is nothing but a cultural heritage. Please enjoy the press CD that never loses its brilliance.
