Our store’s leaked master series continues to shock KISS collectors around the world. The latest bullet is a classic sound board that conveys the heat of 1976 at its peak. It will be released on a press CD that permanently preserves the highest updated master.
What is engraved in this work is “September 3, 1976 Cleveland Performance”. This is a stereo soundboard recording. At their peak, KISS was constantly touring without any time to rest. In 1976, the three tours “ALIVE! Tour” / “DESTROYER Tour” / “ROCK & ROLL OVER Tour” were jam-packed, and we have archived all of them. To confirm, let’s first look at the schedule at that time.

This is KISS in 1976. The Cleveland performance of this work was “North America #3” of the main leg of “DESTROYER Tour”. Due to the large number of performances, this “North America #3” is also a rich area for the best soundboard / pro shots. Now let’s focus on the dates even more.

…and it looks like this. The Cleveland performance of this work is the 30th performance, which is the latter half. It was the second concert before “TORONTO 1976 (Zodiac 120)”. As mentioned above, this show is famous for having a powerful sound board connected directly to the mix table. Not only can you hardly hear the loud cheers, but the level is completely different from the broadcast sound source and official, and the balance and mix, which seems to be for the on-site PA, are extremely vivid. The experience of the concert and the degree of perfection as a musical work are ignored, and the vocals and performances are made to be loud and unprocessed. Of course, that is a virtue, not a drawback. There are many ways to enjoy a live album, but when it comes to experiencing the power and energy of live performance, there is nothing better than a sound board that is directly connected to a table. The charm of this work is on full display, and you can enjoy a synchronized feeling of another dimension, where your whole body is completely in sync with KISS at its peak.
Moreover, this work is an updated version that brings the highest peak of such a direct-connected sound board. All the previous editions had a strange feeling of digital compression, probably because they were also converted into MP3s during distribution, and there was some digital noise here and there. This work is the original master before undergoing such deterioration, and it is an ultra-realistic sound that is completely natural and reproduces the sound of the instrument itself in your mind.
What is depicted on such a live sound board is the entire picture of the “DESTROYER Tour”, which is the climax of the climax. This may be familiar to you as a set, but let’s summarize it here just in case.

……と、このようになっています。本作のクリーヴランド公演は、この中でも後期にあたる30公演目。『TORONTO 1976（Zodiac 120）』の２回前にあたるコンサートでした。前述のように、このショウはミックス卓直結の強力サウンドボードが残された事で有名。大歓声がほとんど聞こえないだけでなく、放送音源や公式とはまるで次元が異なり、現場PA用と思しきバランスもミックスも超生々しい。コンサートの体験感も音楽作品としての完成度もそっちのけでヴォーカルと演奏がムキ出し・無加工でブチかまされるのです。もちろん、それは美点ではあっても欠点ではない。ライヴアルバムにはいろいろな楽しみ方がありますが、「生演奏のド迫力・熱量」を味わうことにかけては卓直結系サウンドボード以上のものはない。本作は、その魅力が全開で、全盛KISSと全身が完全一致するような異次元のシンクロ感を味わえるのです。
しかも、本作はそんなド直結サウンドボードの最高峰をグイッと引き上げた更新盤。従来盤は流通の際にmp3でも経ていたのか、どの盤も妙なデジタル圧縮感があり、デジタル・ノイズも散見していました。本作は、そうした劣化を経る前の元マスターであり、どこまでもナチュラルで楽器の鳴りそのものまで脳内再現される超リアル・サウンドなのです。
