This work was recorded in “July 24, 1981: Denen Coliseum”. It is a stereo sound board recording when I appeared in the late legendary festival “LIVE UNDER THE SKY”. Speaking of “LIVE UNDER THE SKY”, it is a jazz festival that represents Japan and started at the Denen Coliseum in 1977. In later years, the location was moved due to noise problems, but 1981 was the last time it was held in the birthplace. This year, it will be held for 5 days from July 22nd to 26th, and SONNY ROLLINS SPECIAL GROUP, CHICK COREA SPECIAL GROUP, PACO DE LUCIA GROUP with CHICK COREA, HERBIE HANCOCK & CARLOS SANTANA BAND with WYNTON MARSALIS, etc. will participate. Stanley Clarke & George Duke also played as a backing for Sonny Rollins, but also appeared on the third day as a much-talked-about duo unit.
Such a stage is also known for being broadcast on the radio, and has been loved as a staple that gave birth to numerous existing episodes. This work is a two-disc set that precisely reproduces the best master of such a classic FM sound board. It was once a master excavated from the Masterport label, but its quality is excellent.
