Headless, the highest jazz collector’s label, has reissued the precious titles of handmade labels for collectors, which were distributed only in a small part, from the official master who took over. Hawk is here. Rare titles are re-appearing at an affordable price with a reissue emblem and a newly refurbished back jacket.
It is a live sound source of Pat Metheny trio. The base is God Jaco Pastorius. In the late 70’s, Metheny and Jaco met in the back of Joni Mitchell and Herbie Hancock, and they recognized each other’s talents (must be). A trio is perfect for such strong people to form a lot and compare their strengths. Bob Moses is also united in a high-tech ensemble. However, the sound quality is not perfect as described in “VG” even though it is recorded on the sound board. It has a strong hiss noise and is not recommended for beginners. Even so, the sound of each part is captured without being crushed, so fans must listen. Among them, it is the double circle that you can clearly distinguish the bass phrases that tend to be buried in the audience recording. After all, it’s Jaco’s base.

パット・メセニー・トリオのライヴ音源です。ベースは神様ジャコ・パストリアス。70年代後半メセニーとジャコはジョニ・ミッチェルやハービー・ハンコックなどのバックでも顔を合わせておりお互いの才能を認め合う仲でした（に違いありません）。そんな強者ががっぷり組んで力比べするにはトリオと言う編成はもってこい。ボブ・モーゼスも一体となりハイ・テクニックなアンサンブルが繰り広げられています。ただ、音質面はサウンドボード収録ながら“VG”の記載の通り完璧ではありません。ヒスノイズが強く、初心者にはお勧めではありません。それでも各パートの音がつ潰れること無く捉えられてはいるのでファンは必聴。中でもオーディエンス収録だと埋もれがちなベース・フレーズがきっちり聴き分けられるのは二重丸。なにせジャコのベースですから。
