This is the 2022 schedule that has been announced so far. Various bands/artists have announced their plans for 2023, but the above is all for Jeff. Will you take a break in the first half of next year, or will you start working on the next work as soon as possible? It’s a situation where you can’t see the future. Anyway, there are 4 performances left on this tour. The final leg is the “North American” tour, and this work is also its third live album. In this way, the Nashville performance of this work is the 18th performance of a total of 30 North American tours. It was a concert about a week after the previous work “NEW JERSEY 2022 (Uxbridge 1760)”.
This work, which is a vacuum-packed version of such a show, is a splendid audience recording that looks like a picture of “superb”. Each of the masterpieces we have introduced so far was a masterpiece, but this work has a great direct feeling that makes you feel like you have taken a step forward. The guitars and the rhythm section are both dense and there is no sense of emptiness.
Especially Depp’s singing voice is astounding. In previous recordings, even if Jeff’s guitar was turned on, vocals tended to have a sense of distance, but in this work, vocals are also dense. Although I feel a sense of space in the growth of my voice, it is so on that I can not distinguish whether it is the venue sound or the effect production.
What is drawn with such super direct sound is the panorama of the collaboration tour that has reached perfection. The set is exactly the same as the previous work “NEW JERSEY 2022” (the song order is different from the previous work “BOSTON 2022 (Uxbridge 1759)”), but let’s repeat it here.

… and it looks like this. And the performance that spins this set is wonderful. The ensemble has been more than enough with the number of performances so far, and the condition is excellent, probably because the day before was a holiday. I feel that Jeff’s guitar is absurdly glossy and sharp because of the on sound. It is Depp who makes you feel growth in such a situation. I can’t expect to improve my singing ability because I’m not good at horse vocals, but I feel like I’ve got the courage to stage. Originally, there is no problem with courage because they are big stars in the world, but their singing voice is bold and powerful, and they have the momentum to express their emotions.
Also, the loud cheers given to Depp are worth listening to. It’s quietly tight during the performance, and it’s easy to listen to in the United States because the position was good. However, even in this work, the exception is Depp’s “Rumble”. Depp does not sing in the instrumental, but the intro riff roars and a tremendous “Kya!” Although this work is a live album without spectacle, it is so real that the appearance of Depp coming out with Noshinoshi comes to mind. And it’s also interesting that it subsides without waiting for the end of the song. Whether you are trying not to miss Depp’s vocals, it is like a performance in Japan.
The collaboration tour of the century that is about to end soon. There are still a few performances left, so I can’t declare the No. 1 tour, but this work will be the most promising candidate. I don’t know if there will be an official live album in the future, but even if it doesn’t come true, there is this work … a masterpiece that is so on and beautiful. Please enjoy it to the fullest.
★ Superb audience recording of “October 19, 2022 Nashville performance”. The direct feeling of being on is more wonderful than ever, and the guitar and rhythm section are full of density, and there is no feeling of being empty, as if they were lined up with the members on stage. In particular, there are not so many recordings that capture Depp’s vocals in a dense pan-pan. このように、本作のナッシュビル公演は全30公演の北米ツアーの18公演目。前作『NEW JERSEY 2022（Uxbridge 1760）』から約一週間を経たコンサートでした。
そんなショウを真空パックした本作は「極上」を画に描いたようなそれはそれは見事なオーディエンス録音。これまでご紹介してきた名作群もそれぞれに傑作でしたが、本作は一歩踏み込んだようなダイレクト感がスゴい。ギターもリズム隊も密度たっぷりでスカスカ感がまるでなく、まるでステージ上でメンバー達と並んでいるかのように「近い」のです。
特にデップの歌声には目を見張る。これまでの録音はジェフのギターをオンに捉えていてもヴォーカルには距離感がある傾向でしたが、本作はヴォーカルも密度パンパン。声の伸びに空間感覚も感じはするものの、それが会場音響なのかエフェクトの演出なのか判別できないほどオンなのです。
そんな超ダイレクト・サウンドで描かれるのは、完成の域に達したコラボ・ツアーの全景。セットは前作『NEW JERSEY 2022』と完全同一（前々作『BOSTON 2022（Uxbridge 1759）』とは曲順違い）ですが、一応ここでも再掲しておきましょう。

……と、このようになっています。そして、このセットを紡ぐパフォーマンスこそが素晴らしい。ここまで場数を踏んだことでアンサンブルは十二分にこなれ、前日が休みなせいか調子も上々。オンなサウンドもあってかジェフのギターがやけに艶やかでキレているように感じます。そんな中で成長を感じさせるのがデップ。下手ウマ系ヴォーカルで歌唱力に向上は望めませんが、ステージ度胸はついた感じ。もともと世界の大スターですから度胸に問題はないのでしょうが、歌声に思い切りの良さ、豪快に感情をぶつける勢いが出ているのです。
また、そんなデップに贈られる大歓声も聴きどころ。演奏中は静かに締まり返りますし、ポジションが良かったのかアメリカにしては大人しいくらいに聴きやすい。しかし、そんな本作にあっても例外なのがデップ登場の「Rumble」。インストでデップは歌わないのですが、イントロのリフが轟くやもの凄い「キャー！」が吹き上がる。本作は光景なしのライヴアルバムではあるのですが、ノシノシと出てくるデップの姿が目に浮かぶほどリアルです。そして、それが曲の終わりを待たずに鎮まるのも面白い。デップのヴォーカルを聞き逃すまいとしているのか、まるで日本公演のような落差です。
もうすぐ終焉を迎えようとしている世紀のコラボ・ツアー。まだ数公演残っているのでツアーNo.1を断言することはできませんが、本作はその最有力候補となるでしょう。今後、公式にライヴアルバムが出るかは分かりませんが、実現しなかったとしても本作がある……そう思えるほどのオンで美しい大傑作。どうぞ、存分に味わい尽くしてください。
