Steve Hackett of 2021 who announced two new works “UNDER A MEDITERRANEAN SKY” and “SURRENDER OF SILENCE” in quick succession and started a reproduction tour of the masterpiece live album “SECONDS OUT”. Introducing a trillion and superb view video that allows you to experience the latest stage from the front row.
This work was shot at “November 14, 2021 Stockholm performance”. It is the superb audience shot. The biggest point of this work is that “SECONDS OUT + MORE! Tour” can be monopolized by super-special seats. In addition to its amazing quality, the recent situation of Hackett, who overcame the new Corona Pandemic and restarted, is also interesting. After all, Hackett himself is the first to release two new works a year, and he also collaborates with Djabe. At the age of 71, he is enthusiastic about his activities. This is the schedule from 2021 to 2023 that has been announced so far. It’s surprising that it’s already out until next year’s schedule, but the contents are also intense. Although the activity resumed in the fall of 2021, more than 40 performances have been performed, and about 80 performances are scheduled for next year. Moreover, the additional schedule is still announced in the gap, and I am worried that “Why don’t you die so much live?” Anyway, the Stockholm performance of this work was the third concert of “Europe # 1”.
This work recorded at such a show is truly the ultimate view. After all, the position of this work is the front seat. I’m staring at Hackett diagonally from the left side of the stage, but the sense of distance is closer than the camera pit. Hackett is right in front of me. Furthermore, camera work is also a point. A bold zoom. .. .. do not do. In the first place, it’s in the front row, so there’s no need to zoom, but even so, I’m wondering what kind of image it will look like when I’m at the scene, and I want to zoom in. However, the photographer of this work cuts off the temptation and continues to shoot with an emphasis on stability.
Moreover, this is better than expected. The point is “experience of special seats”. Obviously, the human eye does not have a zoom function. If you could sit in the front row, your eyes would be glued to Hackett and sometimes you would just look at each person’s solo. The scene of this work is exactly that. Coupled with the ultra-clear images from the latest equipment, you can continue to stare at the full show with the naked eye.
And that full show is the biggest liver. It is a stage that completely reproduces GENESIS’s masterpiece live album. But that’s not all. From the tour name, it is “SECONDS OUT + MORE! …… And it looks like this. Similar to the previous “GENESIS REVISITED”, it consists of two parts, “Part 1 = Solo / Part 2 = GENESIS”. The point of the first part is to listen to the new song of the latest work “SURRENDER OF SILENCE”. And the second part is “SECONDS OUT”. That masterpiece was an edited work assembled from multiple shows, but what is reproduced here is not “live at that time”, but “live album” to the last.
Even so, it is a superb view. The best seats for live performances are 10 people and 10 colors depending on your taste, but the “front row” is a position that everyone wants to experience at least once. In this work, you can fully experience “moving SECONDS OUT” from such a special seat. The tour concept itself makes the “progressive rock dream” a reality, but this work has made that “best experience” a reality. A super masterpiece with plenty of meaning beyond the latest live performance of Hackett. Please fully enjoy it with a 2-disc DVD that conveys the best quality to the fullest!

これが現在までに公表されている2021年ー2023年のスケジュール。すでに再来年の日程まで出ているのも驚きですが、その中身も強烈。2021年は秋から活動再開したというのに40公演以上をこなし、来年は約80公演を予定。しかも、今なおスキマに追加日程が発表されており、「こんなにライヴやって死にませんか？」と心配になるほどです。さておき、そんな中で本作のストックホルム公演は「欧州#1」の３公演目にあたるコンサートでした。
そんなショウで記録された本作は、まさに究極の絶景。何しろ、本作のポジションは最前席。ステージやや左寄りから斜めにハケットの姿を見つめているのですが、その距離感はカメラピットよりも近い。まさに目の前にハケットがいるのです。さらにカメラワークもポイント。果敢なズームを。。。しない。そもそも最前列ですからズームの必要もないわけですが、それでも現場に居合わせたらどんな画になるか気になってズームにしたくなるもの。ところが本作の撮影者はその誘惑を一切断ち切り、安定感重視で撮影し続けているのです。
しかも、これが想定以上に良い。そのポイントは「特等席の体験感」。考えてみれば当たり前ですが、人間の肉眼にズーム機能はない。もし、最前列に座れたらハケットに目が釘付けになり、ときおり各人のソロに視線を向ける程度でしょう。本作の光景は、まさにそれ。最新機材による超鮮明画像も相まって、まさに肉眼感覚でフルショウを見つめ続けられるのです。
そして、そのフルショウこそが最大の肝。GENESISの名作ライヴアルバムを完全再現したステージなのです。とは言え、それだけでもない。ツアー名からして“SECONDS OUT + MORE! Tour”ですし、「+ MORE」の部分も必見なのです。ここで、二部構成となっているショウの全貌を整理してみましょう。

……と、このようになっています。これまでの“GENESIS REVISITED”と同じように、「第一部＝ソロ／第二部＝GENESIS」の二部構成。第一部のポイントは、何と言っても最新作『SURRENDER OF SILENCE』の新曲が聴ける事に尽きます。そして、第二部は丸ごと『SECONDS OUT』。かの名盤は複数のショウから組み上げられた編集作だったわけですが、ここで再現されているのは「当時のライヴ」ではなく、あくまで「ライヴアルバム」です。
それにしても絶景です。ライヴのベスト・シートは好みによって十人十色ではありますが「最前列」は誰もが一度は体験してみたいポジションでしょう。本作は、そんな特等席から「動くSECONDS OUT」をフル体験できるのです。ツアー・コンセプト自体が「プログレ者の夢」を現実にしてしまうものですが、本作はその「ベスト体験を」カタチにしてしまった。ハケットの最新ライヴという以上の意味がたっぷりの超傑作。極上クオリティを余す事なく伝えてくれる２枚組DVDでたっぷりとご堪能ください！
