In recent years, “Mike Millard Tape” has been digitized from the master direct or low generation tape. This tape was recorded by Mike Millard, a taper familiar to fans due to the outstanding technology of audience recording. The label has released several sound sources based on this newly digitized Mike Millard tape, but if you look closely, you can see “Brushed Mike Millard Tape” and “Legendary Mike Millard.” Did you notice that there are two types of tapes? Not all Mike Millard tapes have perfect sound quality, and some have a lot of room for improvement, and the “Brushed” series has been significantly improved. Originally, it is almost perfect and there is not much room for sound quality improvement, and the “Legendary” series is the one that has been kept to a minimum such as light editing between songs.
This time, Eric Clapton from the “Legendary” series. Recorded a live performance in 1988 in which Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits participated on guitar. To be honest, I don’t think the main character type Mark Knopfler is suitable for a side guitar, but it’s an interesting combination. Since the sound quality is originally good, the tone quality remains the same, and editing is done by adjusting the position of the chapter ID and repairing the missing parts between songs.

近年マスター直、或いはロウ・ジェネレーションのテープからデジタル化が進んでいる“マイク・ミラード・テープ”。オーディエンス録音の卓越した技術でファンにはお馴染みのテーパー、マイク・ミラード氏により録音されたテープです。同レーベルからもこの新デジタル化のマイク・ミラード・テープをマスターにした音源が複数リリースされておりますが、よく見ると“ブラッシュド・マイク・ミラード・テープ”と“レジェンダリー・マイク・ミラード・テープ”の二種類があることにお気付きでしょうか。マイク・ミラード・テープも全てが完璧な音質なわけではなく、中にはかなり手を加えて改良の余地があるものもあり、大幅に手を加えて改良されたものが“ブラッシュド”シリーズ。元々完璧に近く音質改良の余地があまり無く、曲間等の軽い編集など最低限にとどめてあるものが“レジェンダリー”シリーズとなります。
今回は“レジェンダリー”シリーズからエリック・クラプトン登場です。ダイアーストレイツのマーク・ノップラーがギターで参加した1988年のライヴを収録。正直、主人公タイプのマーク・ノップラーにサイドギターの適性があるとは思えませんが面白い組み合わせではあります。元々音質は良いので音色はそのまま、編集はチャプターIDの位置調整や曲間の欠落部補修のし直しとなっております。
