The quality is awesome after all. The whole story is monochrome, but the image quality is definitely master quality. There is no distortion, twist, or noise. 『MILAGRO』時代の発掘プロショットがギフト・リリース決定です。本作が撮影されたのは「1992年11月５日ニューヨーク・シティ公演」。このライヴはサウンドボード音源が知られていましたが、本作は会場側が撮影したプロショットです。
何と言っても凄まじいのがクオリティ。全編モノクロなのですが、その画質は確実にマスター・クオリティ。歪みやヨレ、ノイズの類がまったくない。モノクロ映像をオフィシャル化は難しいでしょうが、画質的には間違いなくオフィシャル級なのです。そして、卓直結のサウンドボード音声も特上。ギターのピッキング・ニュアンスからパーカッションの一打一打、ヴォーカルの息づかいに至るまで、耳に直接プラグをツッコんで脳内再生しているかのような没入感なのです。
モノクロのプロショットというと、近年でもブルース・スプリングスティーンやFLEETWOOD MAC、RAINBOW等のニュージャージー公演が発掘されましたが、本作もそれに近いイメージがあるものの、ちょっと違う。一番の違いはアングル。ニュージャージー系の発掘はマルチカメラ仕様でしたが、本作はワンカメなのです。しかし、ワンカメと言っても見応えはマルチカメラにも匹敵する。メインポジションはステージ左側（チェスター・トンプソン周辺）から真横で撮影しているのですが、ズームだけでなくポジションも自在に移動して見どころに寄りまくる。カルロス・サンタナもステージに向かう後ろ姿から手元までばっちり。もちろん、スタッフ撮影ですからショウの構成・演出も熟知しており、ソロや見どころも事前に準備しているので遅れることもありません。
そんなクオリティで見つめるSANTANAのショウがまた素晴らしい。卓直結ですので歓声は皆無ですが、その分、熱いラテン・ロックが猛烈ダイレクトで脳内に流し込まれる。この時期はオフィシャル作品『SACRED FIRE, LIVE IN MEXICO』も残されていますが、そこでは観れない「Peace on Earth/Mother Earth/Third Stone from the Sun」「Somewhere in Heaven」「Life Is for Living」「Savor」「Tell Me What You Need」「Exodus」「Spirits Dancing in the Flesh」もたっぷりと収録している。中でも最大の見どころはボブ・マーリーのカバー「Exodus」。ここではレニー・クラヴィッツがゲスト登場し、熱い共演を見せてくれるのです。

モノクロながら極上クオリティにして、貴重な関係者視点のフル・プロショット。さらには飛ぶ鳥を落とす勢いだったレニー・クラヴィッツまで登場する傑作映像。この機会にどうぞ存分にお楽しみください。
