Peter Frampton in 1976, who had climbed to the darling of the times due to the big break of “FRAMPTON COMES ALIVE!”. Introducing a sound board album leaked from the people involved to tell the story of that time.
“April 30, 1976 Seattle performance” is engraved in this work. It is the best soundboard recording. 1976 was the year of the big hit of “COMES ALIVE!”, And the studio work was the “FRAMPTON” era. And recently, Mike Millard’s new excavation “L.A. FORUM 1976 (Uxbridge 1545)” is also new to my memory. This is Peter Frampton in 1975/1976. “COMES ALIVE!” Was produced from the US tour in the latter half of 1975, but the Seattle performance of this work is the early part of 1976, which should be called the sequel. It was the 36th performance of “North America # 4”.
This show is known for the audience recording of the prestigious “JEMS” excavation, but this work is completely different. It’s a soundboard recording of a stakeholder master from a unique route. In fact, the sound of this work is superb. I hesitate to say “Beyond COMES ALIVE!” Because of the lack of stereo feeling, but I’m not defeated. Details have not been given, but it is probably a mix table direct connection system. The great cheers of the climax of popularity are also recorded, but it is ringing far away from the close-knit performances and vocals. The image is that “I got into the performance microphone because of the huge cheering.” The performance itself has a breathing and private feeling that makes you think that it is a small rehearsal room, but the enthusiasm and openness of the performance is arena class. You can fully enjoy a different dimension because it is a directly connected sound board.
The direct sound is a full show that makes you want to call it “Through COMES ALIVE!”. The traditional official masterpiece is an edited work produced from multiple performances, and the song order based on the four analog sides was different from the actual stage. On the other hand, this work is an unprocessed integrated recording even though it is a sound board. You can enjoy a more natural full show. …… And it looks like this. The set that started with “All I Want to Be Be (Is by Your Side)” and “Penny for Your Thoughts” that I couldn’t hear in Millard’s masterpiece “L.A. FORUM 1976” was “Wind of Change” in “COMES ALIVE!” Although I can’t hear it, “White Sugar” is set in instead. It is evenly balanced from “WIND OF CHANGE”, “FRAMPTON’S CAMEL” and “SOMETHIN’S HAPPENING”.
Anyway, you can enjoy the full show of Frumpton in full bloom with the directly connected sound board with plenty of close contact. It’s all about this. Although it is an enthusiastic performance comparable to “FRAMPTON COMES ALIVE!”, It is a pleasure that more natural and vivid live performance is directly poured into the brain. A new excavation that is truly a cultural heritage. Please fully enjoy it with Press 2CD that will not lose its brilliance forever.

これが1975年／1976年のピーター・フランプトン。『COMES ALIVE!』は1975年後半の全米ツアーから制作されましたが、本作のシアトル公演はその続編とも言うべき1976年の序盤。「北米#4」の36公演目にあたるコンサートでした。
このショウは名門「JEMS」発掘のオーディエンス録音も知られていますが、本作はまったくの別物。独自ルートからもたらされた関係者マスターのサウンドボード録音なのです。実際、本作のサウンドは極上。ステレオ感が乏しいために「COMES ALIVE!を超える！」と喧伝するのは躊躇うところですが、かと言って負けてもいない。詳細は伝わっていないのですが、恐らくはミックス卓直結系。人気絶頂の大歓声も記録されているのですが、それがド密着な演奏やヴァーカルの遙か彼方で鳴っている。イメージとしては「あまりにも巨大な声援なために、演奏マイクに入り込んでしまった」という感じ。演奏自体は狭いリハーサルルームかと思うほどの息づかいとプライベート感を漂わせつつ、演奏の熱気と開放感はアリーナ級。まさに直結系サウンドボードだからこその異次元感覚を存分に味わえます。
そんなダイレクト・サウンドで描かれるのは「通しCOMES ALIVE!」とでも呼びたくなるフルショウ。伝統のオフィシャル名盤は複数の公演から制作された編集作品であり、アナログ４面を前提とした曲順も実際のステージとは異なるものでした。それに対し、本作はサウンドボードとは言っても無加工の一貫録音。より自然なフルショウを楽しめるのです。ここで似て非なる選曲もチェックしてみましょう。

とにもかくにもド密着感たっぷりな直結サウンドボードで全盛フランプトンのフルショウを味わえる。コレに尽きます。『FRAMPTON COMES ALIVE!』にも匹敵する熱演でありながら、さらに自然で生々しい生演奏が脳みそに直接流し込まれる快感。まさに文化遺産と呼ぶに相応しい新発掘。どうぞ、輝きを永久に失わないプレス２CDで存分に味わい尽くしてください。
