METALLICA in 2010, the last solo visit to Japan (at the moment). Introducing the first public live album where you can experience the scene in the best possible way.
The engraving on this work is “September 25, 2010 Saitama Super Arena Performance”. It is the transcendental audience recording. METALLICA’s last visit to Japan was in 2013, but at that time he participated in “SUMMERSONIC”. 2010 is the last solo performance in Japan. Tamaari was held only for two consecutive days, and this work was the first day. Also, this time is part of the “WORLD MAGNETIC Tour”. It’s also a good opportunity, so let’s look back on the schedule at that time.

This is the outline of the world tour that lasted for more than two years. Some parts, such as the promo appearance that returned to Japan only once during the tour of another country, are omitted, but you can understand the flow and scale. This tour left a lot of official live works, but the performance in Japan was the 6th performance of the “Oceania / Japan” leg, which is much later than those.
This work recorded at such a show is a shocking transcendental recording. This is the one and only original recording that will be released for the first time in the world, but its core is extremely thick like a club and the details are sharp like a razor. It also absorbs the sound of the hall, but it does not cloud the edges, but rather gives it a thick spectacle and a metallic luster. As you know, most shows have official soundboards sold by mail order since the launch of livemetallica.com in 2004, but I can’t help but introduce this work … It’s a superb sound that can be said to be more than the official sound board that has been recorded and released.
The big chorus is even more intense. There is no screaming up close, but the sea of ​​singing that sometimes spreads out in ants is captured beautifully. It’s already overwhelming from the opening “Creeping Death”. It seems that “Woooooo!”, Which surprises the start of the performance, spreads beyond the horizon, and the chorus of chorus from “So let it be written, So let it be done ♪” is huge and vast, and the riff. Sing and sing one by one. And the promised “Die! Die!”. Even though it’s the first song, my awkward skin doesn’t fit!
There is a reason why it was recorded so much. After all, the person who recorded this work is Mr. “West Japan’s strongest taper” who is familiar in our shop. Recently, the new work has been absent due to the destruction of Japan due to the new corona virus, but in this way, he provided us with a treasured collection.

これが丸２年以上に及んだワールドツアーの概要。他国ツアーの途中で１回だけ帰国したプロモ出演など、一部は省略していますが、流れやスケール感はご理解いただけると思います。このツアーは大量の公式ライヴ作品が残されたわけですが、来日公演はそれらよりもグッと後期にあたる「オセアニア／日本」レッグの６公演目でした。
そんなショウで記録された本作は、衝撃的なほどの超絶録音。本作によって全世界初公開となる唯一無二のオリジナル録音なのですが、その芯は棍棒のように極太で、ディテールはカミソリのようにシャープ。ホール鳴りも吸い込んではいるのですが、それがエッジを曇らせず、むしろぶ厚いスペクタクルと金属光沢の輝きを与えている。ご存知の通り、2004年のlivemetallica.com立ち上げ以降はほとんどのショウが公式サウンドボードが通信販売されているわけですが、本作はそれでもご紹介せずにはいられない……といいますか、雑に録って出ししている公式サウンドボード以上と言ってもいい超極上サウンドなのです。
さらに強烈なのが大合唱。間近な絶叫が皆無なのですが、たまアリに広がる唱和の海は美麗に捉えられている。もうオープニングの「Creeping Death」からして圧倒的。開演に驚喜する「うぉおおぉぉおお！」が地平の彼方まで広がるようですし、「So let it be written, So let it be done♪」からのサビの大合唱はドデカく広大ですし、リフの１つひとつも歌う歌う。そして、お約束の「Die! Die!」。１曲目だというのに粟立った肌が収まりません！
それほどまでの録音なのにも理由がある。何しろ、本作を記録したのは当店でもお馴染み“西日本最強テーパー”氏。最近は新型コロナ禍によって来日が壊滅しているために新作がご無沙汰となっておりましたが、こうして秘蔵コレクションをご提供くださったのです。
そんな超絶のサウンドで描かれるのは、最後になってしまうかも知れないMETALLICA渾身のフルショウ。この日のセットは上記スケジュールの公式作の中でも直前の『THE BIG FOUR』に近いので、比較しながら整理してみましょう。
