“BRAND NEW DAY” won two Grammy Awards, and the performance in Japan was realized in a hit that shined in triple platinum in the United States. The symbolic pro shot is the gift release decision.
This work was shot at the “October 25, 2000: Nippon Budokan” performance. That multi-camera pro shot. Sting has always been active in live performances, but during the “BRAND NEW DAY” era, he conducted a particularly large-scale world tour. Along with that, the number of performances in Japan also recorded the highest number (along with 1988). First, let’s look back at the whole picture of such a tour and confirm the position of the show.

This is the 1999-2001 Sting. In addition to the two-year period, I am overwhelmed by the huge number of performances exceeding 170 performances and the sense of scale that conquers five continents. This tour is also left as the official video work “LIVE FROM THE UNIVERSAL AMPHITHEATER”, but the performance of this work at Nippon Budokan is about a year later. It was the 8th concert out of 9 performances.
And this show is also known to have been televised on a certain commercial broadcaster, and has become a staple symbolizing the “2000 Sting”. This work is also broadcast on TV. It was made into a DVD from the Aircheck Master that recently appeared on the net.
The quality is excellent. It is an analog image quality of the times, and the screen that feels a little dark by modern standards is hard to say “completely official grade!”, But it can be said enough if it is the standard at that time. Moreover, the master freshness is excellent, and there is almost no feeling of crushing due to dubbing or running twist due to master deterioration. You can fully enjoy the appearance of Sting who was running at the tip of the new millennium (dead language) with a gorgeous visual beauty.
The beauty of the image is a full show that is similar to the official image. Let’s organize the set including the difference.

While focusing on her three works “… NOTHING LIKE THE SUN”, “TEN SUMMONER’S TALES” and “BRAND NEW DAY”, a wide range of masterpieces are selected from her career. Perhaps more than a year has passed since the album was released, you can enjoy Greatest Hits with thicker classics than the official video.
It is the program’s unique production that further blurs the sense of the times. In the commentary section at the beginning, the attitude of focusing on charity is talked about, and an original interview with Japan is also recorded. He talks about his thoughts on the Nippon Budokan, which seems to be an outside sauce, the aim of the set list, and the outlook for the 21st century. It’s a common topic, but we still feel nostalgic.
It has been 21 years since the site of this work. Sting has visited Japan many times since then, but the large-scale Japan tour so far has been clear. His appearance as a super-big man in the music scene, singing classic songs of all time. Please enjoy yourself with this work.
