1975 THE EAGLES, which sent “ONE OF THESE NIGHTS” with a stronger rock color to No. 1 in the United States and fluttered greatly. Introducing the finest live album where you can experience the scene.
This work was recorded at “August 21, 1975 Seattle performance”. It is the best audience recording. Speaking of 1975, it was also the year when Bernie Leadon changed to Joe Walsh at the same time as glory. First of all, let’s look back on the flow according to the schedule at that time and check the position of the show.

This is THE EAGLES in 1975. The tour lasts until early autumn, after which Bernie leaves. The Seattle performance of this work was the 35th performance of “North America # 2”, which was approaching the final stage.
This work recorded at such a show is truly exquisite. It has been digitized directly from the reel master of the thing discovered by the prestigious “JEMS”, but anyway, even if you listen with headphones, there is almost no hall noise, and a thick core with no sense of distance jumps into your ears. Come out. The “Seattle Center Coliseum” that became the site is an indoor stadium with a little less than 20,000 people, but the sound of this work has no reverberant component like an outdoor festival. It may have been on the PA side, but while picking up the sound directly, the indoor stability that is not affected by the weather is working deliciously, and there is no upcoming audience noise … that’s it. It’s a ridiculous sound when you go to the “sound board” on the ground.
The direct sound is drawn with a full show that makes you want to call it “live performance version THEIR GREATEST HITS (1971–1975)”. Let’s organize the set here.

… And it looks like this. While incorporating the “ONE OF THESE NIGHTS” number, we select evenly from each album without being biased there. It’s a gorgeous album that can be said to be the best compilation album of the live performance of up to 8 out of 10 songs of “THEIR GREATEST HITS (1971–1975)”. On the other hand, it seems surprising that one of the representative songs “Take It to the Limit” is not available, but this is due to the fact that it was single-cut in November 1975 after the tour ended. I wonder if there is. This song will be included in the set in earnest after the first visit to Japan when Joe Walsh was replaced.

The indoor venue has an incredible direct feeling, and the fresh master sound of the prestigious “JEMS”. Although I hesitated to press it because it was a mono recording, the quality itself is undisputed. It is a cultural heritage-class masterpiece where you can experience the full show that will be the “live performance version THEIR GREATEST HITS” with such a beautiful sound. One that will add extravagance to the autumn nights that are getting deeper from moment to moment. Please enjoy it so that you can chew it carefully.

そんな本作が記録されたのは「1975年８月21日シアトル公演」。その極上オーディエンス録音です。1975年と言えば、栄光と同時にバーニー・レドンからジョー・ウォルシュへの交代劇も起きた年でもある。まずは、その流れを当時のスケジュールで振り返り、ショウのポジションも確かめてみましょう。

これが1975年のTHE EAGLES。ツアーは秋口まで行われ、その後にバーニーが脱退。本作のシアトル公演は、その終盤に差し掛かった「北米#2」の35公演目にあたるコンサートでした。
そんなショウで記録された本作は、まさに極上・絶品。名門「JEMS」が発掘したモノのリール・・マスターからダイレクトにデジタル化されているのですが、とにかくヘッドフォンで耳を澄ませてもホール鳴りがほとんどなく、距離感のない極太の芯が耳に飛びこんでくる。現場となった“シアトル・センター・コロシアム”は２万人弱の屋内競技場なのですが、本作のサウンドはまるで野外フェスのように反響成分がない。よほどＰＡの側だったのかも知れませんが、出音をダイレクトに拾いつつ、それでいて天候に左右されない屋内の安定感だけは美味しく作用しており、さらに間近なオーディエンス・ノイズまで皆無……それこそ「まるでサウンドボード」を地で行くとんでもないサウンドなのです。
それほどのダイレクト・サウンドで描かれるのは、「生演奏版THEIR GREATEST HITS (1971–1975)」と呼びたくなるフルショウ。ここでセットも整理しておきましょう。

……と、このようになっています。『ONE OF THESE NIGHTS』ナンバーも取り入れつつ、そこに偏ることなく各アルバムから満遍なくセレクト。『THEIR GREATEST HITS (1971–1975)』の全10曲中８曲までが演奏されるライヴのベスト盤とも言えるような豪華ぶりなのです。その反面、代表曲の１つ「Take It to the Limit」がないのが意外な気もしますが、これはツアー終了後の1975年11月になってからシングル・カットされた事が影響しているのでしょう。この曲が本格的にセット入りするのはジョー・ウォルシュに交代した初来日以降です。

屋内会場なのが信じられないダイレクト感と、さすが名門「JEMS」の瑞々しいマスター・サウンド。モノ録音なためにプレス化に躊躇してしまったものの、クオリティ自体は文句の付けどころがありません。そんな絶世の美音で「生演奏版THEIR GREATEST HITS」となるフルショウを体験できる文化遺産級の名盤です。時々刻々と深まっていく秋の夜中をこれ以上なく贅沢に彩ってくれる１本。どうぞ、じっくりと噛みしめるようにご堪能ください。
