“May 21, 1978 Newcastle performance” is engraved on this work. It is a complete official grade audience recording. Although it seems to be inconsistent with “official” even though it is “audience”, this is not what our shop is saying. It is a description by the prestigious “JEMS” who discovered the master himself, and it is an accurate expression from the viewpoint of quality and the history of recording. This is the 1978 VAN HALEN. The magnitude of the impact can be seen from the fact that they started to invade Europe less than three months after the release of “Fuse of Flames”, but it was the UK that was particularly strong. Although it was the opening act of BLACK SABBATH, a long tour of 20 performances was realized. This number of performances is not likely unless it is a local band, and it was the largest UK tour in VAN HALEN’s entire career. In addition, this UK tour has also gone down in history as the birth of many masterpieces, including super-superb round boards. It’s also a good opportunity, so let’s focus on the schedule and organize our collection.

All 20 performances above. The sound board masterpiece press “DEFINITIVE MANCHESTER 1978”, “DEFINITIVE IPSWICH 1978” and “DEFINITIVE HAMMERSMITH 1978” are crowded, but this work is earlier than any of them. It was the stage corresponding to the 5th performance in the UK. This Newcastle performance is also famous for the sound board recording left, and what was discovered this time is the original master. However, as a result of verification, this recording was not a sound board. Since the Omoto cassette also has the name of Pete Angelus, who is known as the fifth member, the management at that time had the staff record it as a material, and at the sound board table (or somewhere in the forefront) It was recorded with a professional high-end microphone.
And the sound of this work supports that background. The performance sound is the sound board itself, and the audience noise is extremely small. Although I feel a natural feeling that is not too rugged for direct connection, I can say that because I know the above background as an answer. If there is no information, it is a transcendent sound that will definitely be judged as “absolutely sound board”. Moreover, this work is the highest peak update board. It is more natural and clearer than ever before, but this is not just a difference in Jane. The existing group so far has been via minidisc in the process of distribution, where it was digitally compressed. On the other hand, this work is completely lossless from the original. Upgrade more than the number of times of dubbing has been realized.
This is truly the “legendary sound”. I don’t think it’s an audience recording no matter how many times I listen to it, but it’s certainly more real and natural than the genuine soundboard group mentioned above. It is a convincing sound to call the prestigious “JEMS” that has handled countless records “Official Audience”. 《12月11日『伝説の爆撃機』制作開始》
これが1978年のVAN HALEN。『炎の導火線』発売から３ヶ月と経たずしてヨーロッパ侵攻を開始する辺りからも衝撃の大きさがうかがえますが、特に強烈だったのは英国。BLACK SABBATHの前座とは言え、20公演に及ぶ長大なツアーが実現。この公演数は地元バンドでもない限りそうそうない規模ですし、VAN HALENの全キャリアでも最大の英国ツアーでした。また、この英国ツアーは超極上さウンドボードも含む多数の名作が誕生したことでも歴史に残っている。良い機会でもありますので、日程をフォーカスして当店コレクションを整理しておきましょう。

以上の全20公演。サウンドボードの名作プレス『DEFINITIVE MANCHESTER 1978』『DEFINITIVE IPSWICH 1978』『DEFINITIVE HAMMERSMITH 1978』がひしめいておりますが、本作はそのどれよりも初期。英国５公演目にあたるステージでした。このニューカッスル公演もサウンドボード録音が残されたことで有名で、今回発掘されたのはその大元マスターなのです。ところが検証の結果、この録音はサウンドボードではなかった。大元カセットにも第５のメンバーとして知られるピート・アンジェラスの名前がある事からも当時のマネジメントが資料用としてスタッフに録音させたものであり、サウンドボード卓（もしくは最前のどこか）でプロ用ハイエンド・マイクで記録したものだったのです。
そして、本作のサウンドはその経緯を裏付けるもの。演奏音はサウンドボードそのものですし、オーディエンス・ノイズも極少。卓直結にしては無骨すぎないナチュラル感を感じるものの、それも上記の経緯を答えとして知ったから言えること。何の情報もなければ疑いなく「絶対にサウンドボード」と断じるであろう超絶サウンドなのです。しかも、本作はその最高峰更新盤。かつてなくナチュラルでディテールまで鮮明なのですが、これは単にジャネの違いだけではない。これまでの既発群は流通の過程でミニディスクを経由しており、そこでデジタル圧縮されていました。それに対し、本作は大元からの完全ロスレス。ダビング回数を省いた以上のアップグレードが実現しているのです。
これぞまさに「伝説の音」。何度聞き返してもオーディエンス録音とは思えませんが、上記した正真正銘のサウンドボード群と比べるとリアルでナチュラルなのも確か。無数の記録を扱ってきた名門「JEMS」をして「Official Audience」と称するのも納得のサウンドなのです。その究極音でデビュー当時のVAN HALENを描ききる衝撃の新名盤。輝きを永久に失わないプレスCDでいつでも、何度でもご体験ください。
