1982 DURAN DURAN pioneered the golden age with the famous board “RIO”. Introducing the finest soundboard album that you can enjoy the stage.
This work was recorded at the “July 9, 1982 Detroit performance”. It is the super powerful sound board recording. Speaking of 1982, not only the big break in “RIO” but also the legendary first visit to Japan was realized. First, let’s look back at the schedule and check the position of the show.

This is 1982 DURAN DURAN. The legendary first visit to Japan was held just before the release of “RIO”, but the performance of this work in Detroit was after the release. It was the 12th concert of the “North America” ​​leg, which was the main part of the tour.
Such a show has long been known for its sound board recordings, and has produced a large number of existing groups. This work is the same sound board sound source, but it is the highest peak master of the latest excavation different from the past. The prestigious “Krw_co” was responsible for the excavation. The 1st Gene Cassette, which was dubbed directly from the Omoto Sound Board, was discovered and digitized from there.
In fact, the sound is superb. As a type, it is not a type that has undergone polishing like the official live board and FM broadcasting, but a mix table direct connection system. The rough live performance that the on-site PA would have spit out was blown out without any decoration, and the loud cheers were whispering in the distance. You can’t really expect the experience of the concert hall, but the dynamism that the live performance rises in your brain with your feet is overwhelming, and the pleasure that the whole body is completely synchronized with DURAN DURAN can never be experienced in the official work. Rather than being a substitute for the so-called official board, it is the ideal form that soundboard enthusiasts love.
Moreover, it is definitely the highest ever. A few years ago, some masters were touted as “Pre-FM”, but it’s hard to compare. Although the conventional master could also enjoy the feeling of being directly connected, there is more noise than this work, and the pitch is swaying in an unstable manner. Of course, the vividness of the outline and the beauty of the sound are different. Nowadays, the freshness of this work is so overwhelming that it makes me want to say “Where is Pre-FM?”

 これが1982年のDURAN DURAN。伝説の初来日は『RIO』発売の直前に行われたわけですが、本作のデトロイト公演はリリース後。ツアーのメインであった「北米」レッグ12公演目のコンサートでした。
 そんなショウは以前からサウンドボード録音が残された事で知られ、幾多の既発群も生み出してきました。本作も同じサウンドボード音源ではあるのですが、これまでとは違う最新発掘の最高峰マスターなのです。その発掘を担ったのは名門「Krw_co」。大元サウンドボードからダイレクトにダビングされた1stジェネ・カセットが発見され、そこからデジタル化されたのです。
 実際、そのサウンドは極上。タイプとしては公式ライヴ盤やFM放送のような磨き込みを経たものではなく、ミックス卓ド直結系。現場PAが吐き出していたであろうラフな生演奏が何の装飾もなく吹き出し、大歓声も遙か遠くで囁くようなバランス。コンサート会場の体験感などまるで望めませんが、生演奏が脳内にズカズカと土足で上がり込むダイナミズムは圧倒的で、全身がDURAN DURANと完全シンクロする快感はオフィシャル作品では決して味わえないもの。いわゆる公式盤代わりと言うよりは、サウンドボード・マニアがこよなく愛する理想形そのものです。
 しかも、間違いなく過去最高。数年前には「Pre-FM」と喧伝されたマスターも出回りましたが、ハッキリ言って比較にならない。従来マスターもド直結感は味わえたものの、本作と比べるとノイズが多く、ピッチも不安定に揺れまくっている。もちろん、輪郭の鮮やかさも鳴りの美しさも段違い。今となっては「どこがPre-FM?」と言ってやりたくなるほど、本作のビシッとした鮮度は圧倒的なのです。
 そんなアップグレード・サウンドで描かれるのは、初期2作を濃縮還元したショウ。前述のように1982年のライヴと言えば公式作『LIVE AT HAMMERSMITH ’82!』が有名ですが、本作のセットは似て非なるもの。ここで比較しながら整理しておきましょう。
