DEF LEPPARD in 2013 was excited by the complete reproduction show of their masterpiece “HYSTERIA”. A super high-quality IEM album that is completely different from the official work is born. It will be released as a permanent preservation press 2CD!
What is engraved on this work is “March 23, 2013 Las Vegas performance”. This is an IEM recording that captures the whole story. Speaking of “HYSTERIA” reenactment live performances in Japan were realized in 2018, but how many times have they been held historically? This is also a good opportunity, so let’s take a look back at the whole scene.

This is the whole picture of “HYSTERIA reenactment live”. A total of 48 performances were held twice, in 2013 and 2018/2019. The first was a concert residency in Las Vegas (an entertainment style where multiple performances are held at the same venue, unlike a traveling tour), and the official work “VIVA! HYSTERIA” was created from the 4th and 5th performances. Ta. On the other hand, this work was the second concert held at the same venue about a week before (by the way, the full IEM from the first day was also discovered, but unfortunately there was equipment trouble. “Live HYSTERIA”).
This work, which records such a show, is an unprecedented IEM sound. This master was released to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the tour, and a number of recorders teamed up to intercept the IEMs and mix them carefully. Since it’s an IEM, you can’t expect the realistic feeling of being surrounded by loud cheers, but the pleasure of seeing your whole body in perfect sync with the live music is immense. According to the custom in the collector world, IEMs are not sound boards, so there is no “STEREO SOUNDBOARD RECORDING” credit in this work, but the content is exactly the same as a sound board directly connected to a mix console. The extremely thick and exciting live music is poured into your brain… no, it’s screwed. The immersive feeling of having DEF LEPPARD inside your head is a different-dimensional sensation that even the overly staged official works can’t experience, let alone the audience.
Moreover, it is well balanced. Each note is very vivid, so it’s not an official style, but it doesn’t have a biased sound like “only the rhythm is big” or “only the solo stands out” like IEMs of certain members, and the ensemble sounds natural. It flows out in balance. I can’t say for sure because the individual IEM sources have not been made public, but it’s probably a result of mixing multiple IEMs.
“Daimyo HYSTERIA all + α” is depicted with such a transcendent and different dimension sound. The official work “VIVA! HYSTERIA” was edited separately into “famous record reproduction part” and “other parts”, but this work goes through it all at once. You can enjoy one show all the way through. And the song selection is also different from “VIVA! HYSTERIA”. Of course, the “HYSTERIA” part is completely reproduced in the same order as the album, but the other sections are different from the official work, so let’s organize them while comparing them.

…and it looks like this. The only encores after reproducing “HYSTERIA” are “Rock of Ages” and “Photograph,” and the others are played before the reproduction section.
“Ultra-vivid HYSTERIA” depicted with the No. 1 C-direct sound in DEF LEPPARD history. That’s all. The unprocessed, lively feel far surpasses “VIVA! HYSTERIA”, and unlike the first day, it was a complete show without any equipment troubles. A masterpiece that depicts the whole story with an IEM mix directly from the brain. It is a grand appearance with a press 2CD that will leave its shine forever!

これが「HYSTERIA再現ライヴ」の全体像。大きく「2013年」と「2018／2019年」の二度、合計48公演が行われました。一番最初はラスベガスでのコンサート・レジデンシー（移動するツアーとは異なり、同じ会場で何公演も行う興行スタイル）で、公式作品『VIVA! HYSTERIA』はその４公演目／５公演目から制作されました。それに対し、本作は同じ会場の約１週間前にあたる２公演目のコンサートでした（ちなみに初日のフルIEMも発掘されていますが、残念ながら機材トラブルも発生。本作が最も初期の『完璧なライヴHYSTERIA』となります）。
そんなショウを記録した本作は、空前絶後のIEMサウンド。ツアーから10周年を記念して公開されたマスターでして、何人もの記録家がチームを組んでIEM傍受しており、それらを精緻にミックスされている。IEMですから大歓声に包まれる臨場感は望めませんが、全身が生演奏と完全シンクロする快感は絶大。コレクター界の慣例ではIEMはサウンドボードではないので本作に「STEREO SOUNDBOARD RECORDING」のクレジットはありませんが、内容的にはミックス卓直結系サウンドボードとまったく同じ。極太でムキ出しの生演奏が脳みそに流し込まれ……いや、ねじ込まれるのです。まるで頭の中にDEF LEPPARDがいるような没入感は、オーディエンスはおろか演出過多なオフィシャル作遺品でも味わえない異次元感覚です。
しかも、バランスが良い。１音１音が思いっきり生々しいのでオフィシャル風ではないのですが、特定メンバーのIEMのように「リズムだけデカい」とか「ソロだけ飛び出てる」といった偏った音にはならず、アンサンブルが自然なバランスで流れ出るのです。個々のIEMソースが公開されていないので断言できませんが、恐らく複数IEMをミックスしたからこその成果なのでしょう。
そんな超絶の異次元サウンドで描かれるのは「大名盤HYSTERIA全部＋α」。オフィシャル作品『VIVA! HYSTERIA』は「名盤再現パート」と「それ以外」に分けて編集されていましたが、本作は一気貫通。１回のショウを通しで楽しめます。そして、選曲も『VIVA! HYSTERIA』とは違う。もちろん『HYSTERIA』パートは曲順もアルバムそのままに完全再現されるわけですが、他のセクションは公式作とは異なっていますので、比較しながら整理しておきましょう。
