QUEEN in 1977, which made a leap forward by folding “Brilliant Race” and “Dedicated to the World”. A new recording that conveys the Toronto performance appears! It is decided to release two types at the same time.
This work is the second in a series of two new recordings. It is a superb audience recording of “November 21, 1977 Toronto Performance”. This time it was released at the same time as “TORONTO FEBRUARY 1977 (Uxbridge 1790)” with a similar title, and both works are also sister works by the same venue and the same recording artist collection. However, the content of the live is completely different. The point is the position of the show. Let’s immediately check the positional relationship of both works in the schedule at that time.

●1977
“A DAY AT THE RACES TOUR”
・ January 13-March 18: North America # 1 (40 performances) ← * TORONTO FEBRUARY 1977
・May 8-June 7: Europe #1 (19 performances)
《October 28 “Dedicated to the World” released》
“NEWS OF THE WORLD TOUR”
・November 11-December 22: North America #2 (26 performances) ← Coco
● 1978
・ April 12-May 13: Europe #2 (20 performances)
《July-October Production of “JAZZ”》

This is the schedule for 1977 when the two world tours intersect. “TORONTO FEBRUARY 1977” released at the same time was a record of “A DAY AT THE RACES Tour”, but this work is a live album recorded in “North America # 2” of the next “NEWS OF THE WORLD Tour”. It’s also a good opportunity, so let’s organize our “North America #2” collection here.

● “North America #2” title
・November 18 “DETROIT 1977 1ST NIGHT”
・November 21: Performance in Toronto ← ★This work★
・December 1st + 2nd “ROCKS NEW YORK”
*December 11 “ULTIMATE HOUSTON 1977”
*December 20th “LONG BEACH ARENA 1977 1ST NIGHT”
・ December 22 “WHITE CHRISTMAS (Inglewood)”
* Note: “*” marks are permanent preservation press titles.

“The above six titles.” The Toronto performance of this work is the 8th performance of “North America # 2”, and it is an early collection of the tour. As you may have already noticed, this show is already familiar with “TORONTO NOVEMBER 1977 (Uxbridge 1493)”. However, what was excavated this time was a completely different recording, and it was the first public recording with a much better sound than the previous one. However, the new recording was not complete. It seems that the recording artist recorded the whole show with two cassettes, but only the first half tape was excavated. In this work, the lost second half part is complemented with the existing recording, and it is finished as a full live.
So, which songs are newly discovered upgrade recordings, and which parts are existing recordings? Let’s organize it according to the set.

First half: New recording part
・ Opera no Yoru: Death on Two Legs (Dedicated to…) / I’m In Love With My Car / You’re My Best Friend (*) / Love Of My Life / ’39
・Brilliant Race: Somebody To Love/Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy/The Millionaire Waltz/White Man
・Dedicated to the world: We Will Rock You (slow) (*) / We Will Rock You (fast) / It’s Late / Get Down Make Love / Spread Your Wings
・Others: Brighton Rock/Killer Queen/Liar/Vocal Solo (*)
* Note: “*” marks are songs that have been partially complemented by existing recordings.

-Second half: The recording part of the already released [Uxbridge 1493] ・Sheer Heart Attack: Stone Cold Crazy/Now I’m Here
A Night at the Opera: The Prophet’s Song / Bohemian Rhapsody
・Dedicated to the world: We Are The Champions / Sheer Heart Attack
・ Others: Guitar Solo / Keep Yourself Alive / Tie Your Mother Down / Jailhouse Rock

… and it looks like this. There are also fine supplements such as the opening part and the tape change part, but roughly speaking, the tape switching point is the beginning of DISC 2. It switches in the middle of the vocal improvisation after “White Man”, and after that it will be the same recording as the existing “Uxbridge 1493”.
Of course, the highlight is the newly recorded part in the first half. The sound is nothing compared to the old recording. The core that is on and has no sense of distance is approaching, and along with that, the details are finely drawn. Although it is not mistaken for a sound board in terms of tone, it is wonderful to listen to and respond to FM broadcasting.
Even if you return it, the loss of the tape in the second half is regrettable. If it is a perfect form, it is a wonderful new recording that can be sufficiently pressed. If you line up with “TORONTO FEBRUARY 1977” released at the same time, you can also observe two different tours at the same venue and the same recording artist collection. “It’s a pity!” But a beautiful sister work that can’t be ignored. Please enjoy the two together.

★ Excellent audience recording of “November 21, 1977 Toronto Performance”. A new recording of only the first half was discovered while being extremely advanced. It is a full live album that complements the latter half with “TORONTO FEBRUARY 1977 (Uxbridge 1790)” and finishes it in a complete form. Although the new recording is only the first half, the quality is tremendous, and the core with no sense of distance is approaching, and the details are finely drawn along with it. The ease of listening and the response to listening are wonderfully close to the sound board. It is an upgrade album that you can enjoy a precious show

“A DAY AT THE RACES Tour”
TORONTO FEBRUARY 1977
“NEWS OF THE WORLD Tour”

同時リリースの『TORONTO FEBRUARY 1977』は“A DAY AT THE RACES Tour”の記録でしたが、本作は次なる“NEWS OF THE WORLD Tour”の「北米#2」で記録されたライヴアルバムなのです。

・12月1日+2日『ROCKS NEW YORK』
*12月11日『ULTIMATE HOUSTON 1977』
*12月20日『LONG BEACH ARENA 1977 1ST NIGHT』
・12月22日『WHITE CHRISTMAS(イングルウッド)』

Death on Two Legs (Dedicated to…)/I’m In Love With My Car/You’re My Best Friend(*)/Love Of My Life/’39
Somebody To Love/Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy/The Millionaire Waltz/White Man
We Will Rock You (slow)(*)/We Will Rock You (fast)/It’s Late/Get Down Make Love/Spread Your Wings
・その他:Brighton Rock/Killer Queen/Liar/ヴォーカル・ソロ(*)

Stone Cold Crazy/Now I’m Here
The Prophet’s Song/Bohemian Rhapsody
We Are The Champions/Sheer Heart Attack
Keep Yourself Alive/Tie Your Mother Down/Jailhouse Rock
