A new masterpiece is born from the re-evaluated “THE HOUSE OF BLUE LIGHT Tour”! The best live album where you can fully experience the masterpiece that was the basis of the traditional work “NOBODY’S PERFECT” will be permanently preserved !!
It was “August 22, 1987 Oslo performance” that was imbued with such a work. It is the best audience recording. Speaking of 1987, in our shop, the British trilogy “WEMBLEY 1987 (Darker Than Blue 132/133)” “WEMBLEY 1987 2ND NIGHT (Darker Than Blue 301/320)” “EDINBURGH 1987 (Darker Than Blue 295/296)” Also new to my memory. Let’s look back on the schedule at that time in order to understand the situation of that volume.
● 1987
“January 12” THE HOUSE OF BLUE LIGHT “released”
・ January 26-February 28: Europe # 1 (22 performances)
・ March 3-8: UK (5 performances) ← * UK trilogy
・ April 15th-May 30th: North America # 1 (28 performances) ← * Official NOBODY’S PERFECT
《May 30: Ritchie injured his left hand》
・ August 19-September 7: Europe # 2 (12 performances) ← * Official NOBODY’S PERFECT
● 1988
“June” NOBODY’S PERFECT “released”
・ July 31: MONSTERS OF ROCK ITALY appearance
・ August 11 + 16: North America # 2 (2 performances)
・ September 9-29: Europe # 3 (14 performances)
This is DEEP PURPLE in the “THE HOUSE OF BLUE LIGHT” era. The Oslo performance of this work was just after the resumption of the tour, which had been suspended due to Ritchie’s injury. It was the second concert of “Europe # 2”. The UK trilogy was in the early stages of the tour, but the official “NOBODY’S PERFECT” was produced from the subsequent five performances of “North America # 1” and “Europe # 2”. Let’s check the breakdown here.
● North America # 1
・ May 23: Irvine performance (4 full songs)
・ May 30: Phoenix performance (3 full songs + 1 partial song)
● Europe # 2
・ August 22: Oslo performance (3 full songs + 2 partial songs) ← ★ This work ★
・ September 4: Milan performance (1 full song)
・ September 6: Verona (1 song)
…… And it looks like this. Although it was recorded from 5 performances, it was not even, and the main ones were the Irvine performance and the Oslo performance (this work). You can see how convincing and fulfilling the performance was. This work, which completely records such a show, is a superb item. It is the 2nd Gene Master that was excavated from the prestigious “Krw_co” very recently, but anyway, if it is clear and dense, the sound is beautiful. If you want to refer to recent titles, it’s between “EDINBURGH 1987” and “WEMBLEY 1987 2ND NIGHT”. The sense of space is close to the former, and the sense of stability and beauty is thin to the latter. If you have experienced either of the two works, I think it will come to you, but it is a gem that impresses me that such famous recordings will come out in quick succession on one tour.
Moreover, this work is the highest peak that refined such original sound by meticulous mastering. For example, pitch. Perhaps it went crazy when digitizing from the cassette, the pitch was different depending on the face division, especially from the start to “Lazy”. Furthermore, in terms of sound, the original sound of the net is extremely high. At our shop, we have handled countless DEEP PURPELE titles so far, and we are familiar with the characteristics of sound output. While making the best use of the sound and precision of the original sound, the “1987 on-site sound” is reproduced as accurately as possible.
It is a (almost) full show that should be called “NOBODY’S PERFECT of the core” drawn with such a neat sound. Of course, since it was the analog cassette era, there were recording omissions such as tape changes, but most of them were between songs. To be precise, it is the last Jean of “Lazy” that lacks the playing sound! only. However, the whole view is different from “NOBODY’S PERFECT”. Let’s organize by comparing at the end.
● 70’s Classics
・ Machine Head: Highway Star / Lazy / Space Truckin'(★) / Smoke On The Water (★)
・ Others: Black Night (☆) / Child In Time (☆) / Strange Kind Of Woman / Woman From Tokyo
● Reunion era
・ Perfect Strangers: Perfect Strangers / Knocking At Your Backdoor
・ House of Blue Light: The Unwritten Law (*) / Dead Or Alive / Hard Lovin’Woman (★) / Bad Attitude
・ Others: Difficult To Cure (*)
* Note: The “★” mark is the song that was fully adopted in “NOBODY’S PERFECT”, and the “☆” mark is the song that was partially used. The “*” mark is a song that could not be heard in “NOBODY’S PERFECT”.
The first visit to Japan in 1972 was a symbol of “MADE IN JAPAN”, but the on-site audience recording was also wonderful. This work is the 80’s version. A masterpiece in which the most songs were adopted in “NOBODY’S PERFECT”. It is a live album where you can experience the scene with 100% of the audience sound. A new masterpiece that jumped out beyond the space-time of 35 years from the actual production. Please fully enjoy it with the permanent storage press 2CD.
★ The best audience recording of “August 22, 1987 Oslo performance” which became the main of “NOBODY’S PERFECT”. It is a 2nd Gene Master excavated from the prestigious “Krw_co”, and if it is clear and dense, the sound is beautiful. The core that penetrates the center of the air is powerful and responsive, and the stability and beauty of the sound is also wonderful. Moreover, the highest peak refined by meticulous mastering. The pitch that was fast from the start to “Lazy” is also accurate, and the extremely high-rise sound is faithfully arranged to the sound output at the site. It is a new masterpiece where you can fully experience the masterpiece that became the backbone of the official “NOBODY’S PERFECT”.
