A series of leaked KISS officials who are releasing the first public master of the whole world shock. A symbolic professional shot of the no-makeup era, which is the latest bullet, is now available on the press DVD.
Engraved on this work is a multi-camera pro shot of “December 18, 1987 Philadelphia Performance”. It is the highest peak master in history. Speaking of “CRAZY NIGHTS Tour”, it is a great heyday of no-makeup KISS, and it is also memorable that the first visit to Japan was realized. At our shop, the representative work “DEFINITIVE BUDOKAN 1988 (Shades 1588)” is also familiar. First of all, let’s look back on the activity summary at that time.

This is the 1987/1988 KISS. Not only did “CRAZY NIGHTS” win a platinum album, but the sense of scale of the tour that toured Europe and Japan, and the scale of about 130 performances, became the largest in the no-makeup era. The Philadelphia performance of this work is the beginning. It was the 24th performance of “North America # 1”, which was about three months after the album was released.
As many of you may have already noticed, this show is famous for having professional shots from before, and has been made official as part of “KISSOLOGY VOLUME TWO”. Furthermore, the complete version master has become a standard as a gift title “PHILADELPHIA 1987”. This work is also the same professional shot, but the world’s first public master unearthed by our own stakeholder route. It is a super upgrade master that is (much) longer than the official version and more beautiful (incomparably) than the gift version.
In fact, the quality is “perfectly official”. It is not an official “class”. It is officially “exceed”. It is no longer a matter of course that it is more beautiful than the gift version of Genele, and it even exceeds the official “KISSOLOGY” version. However, although the “KISSOLOGY” version was also of official beautiful quality, it was still digitally processed to emphasize the highlights, and the details were crushed. However, this work does not require highlight processing at all for vivid coloring backed by master freshness. As a result, the image quality of the official or higher is realized while remaining natural and super-clear to the details. Speaking of the beauty of Jean’s tack jacket and drum kit that reflects the glitter and light…
More powerful than the visual beauty is the full set of over 85 minutes. Let’s organize it while comparing it with the official “KISSOLOGY” version.

… and it looks like this. While the official version had only 5 songs, this work has 14 songs (+ each solo), which is about three times as many. It’s such a big increase that it’s stupid just to compare. Also, “White Christmas” can not be seen in the Japanese performance pro shot “DEFINITIVE BUDOKAN 1988”. This is not a band performance, but something that four people sing a cappella with one microphone. It’s a small play of about 1 minute, but the harmony of the unexpectedly elaborate arrangement is beautiful. It’s a delicious scene that casually shows off the skill of the four no-makeup KISS singers and their musical sophistication.
I’ve been writing this every time, but this time it’s a shocking master who has the triple threat of “longer than the official”, “beautiful than the conventional master”, and “first appearance in the world”. Moreover, it is more beautiful than ever in the 80’s, and the full show, which received the wind of great success, is the ultimate in gorgeousness. An absolute masterpiece of the no-makeup era. Please fully enjoy the press DVD that never loses its shine.

★ Multi-camera pro shot of “December 18, 1987 Philadelphia Performance”. This is the world’s first release of the leaked master, and it is a complete version of over 85 minutes, which is completely different from the official “KISSOLOGY VOL.2” version, which was just over 20 minutes. “White Christmas”, which is not in the Japanese performance pro shot, is also delicious, and the full show, which received the wind of great success, is the ultimate in gorgeousness. これが1987年／1988年のKISS。『CRAZY NIGHTS』がプラチナ・アルバムに輝いただけでなく、欧州／日本も巡るツアーのスケール感も、約130公演という規模もノーメイク時代で最大のものとなりました。本作のフィラデルフィア公演は、その序盤。アルバム発売から約３ヶ月となる「北米#1」の24公演目にあたるコンサートでした。
もうお気づきの方も多いと思いますが、このショウは以前からプロショットが残された事でも有名で『KISSOLOGY VOLUME TWO』の一部として公式化も実現。さらには完全版マスターがギフト・タイトル『PHILADELPHIA 1987』としても定番と鳴ってきました。本作も同じプロショットではありますが、当店独自の関係者ルートで発掘された全世界初公開マスター。公式版よりも（遙かに）長く、ギフト版より（比較にならないほど）美しい超アップグレード・マスターなのです。
実際、そのクオリティは「完全オフィシャル超え」。オフィシャル「級」ではありません。オフィシャル「超え」です。ジェネレ落ちのギフト版より美しいのはもはや当たり前の次元でして、公式『KISSOLOGY』版さえも超えているのです。もっとも『KISSOLOGY』版もさすが公式の美麗クオリティではありましたが、それでもハイライトを強調するデジタル処理が施され、細部が潰れてもいました。ところが本作はマスター鮮度に裏打ちされた鮮やか発色のためにハイライト処理などまったく不要。その結果、微細部までナチュラルで超克明なままオフィシャル以上の画質が実現している。キラキラとライトを反射するジーンの鋲ジャンやドラムキットの美しい事と言ったら……。
その映像美以上にド迫力なのが85分を超えるフルセットのド迫力。さっそくオフィシャル『KISSOLOGY』版と比較しながら整理してみましょう。

……と、このようになっています。オフィシャル版はわずか５曲だったのに対し、本作は約３倍の14曲（＋各ソロ）。比較するだけバカらしくなるほどの大増量です。また、日本公演プロショット『DEFINITIVE BUDOKAN 1988』でも観られないのは「White Christmas」。これはバンド演奏ではなく、４人が１本のマイクでアカペラで歌うもの。約１分のささやかなお遊びではありますが、意外と凝ったアレンジのハーモニーが美しい。ノーメイクKISS４人の歌の巧さと、音楽的素養をさり気なく見せつける美味しいシーンです。
このところ毎度毎度書いていますが、今回もまた「オフィシャルより長い」「従来マスターより美麗」「全世界初登場」の三拍子が揃った衝撃の関係者マスターです。しかも、80年代だけあってこれまで以上に美しく、大成功の風を全身に受けたフルショウは華やかさの極み。ノーメイク時代の最高傑作ともなる絶対の一作。輝きを永久に失わないプレスDVDで存分に味わい尽くしてください。
