This is the schedule for 2022/2023 that has been announced so far. The “SWEDEN ROCK FESTIVAL” appearance of this work was the first day of the final leg “Europe # 3”. The schedule after this “Europe # 3” has not been announced, Roger Glover professed to produce a new studio work. So to speak, the last of “McBride’s joining era before the original work”. In terms of history books, it would be something like “the first line of the last page of McBride Chapter 1”.
This work, which vacuum-packed such a scene, has a shockingly superb audience. The sound is sound board class … No, it is no longer “completely official class”. これが現在までに公表されている2022年／2023年のスケジュール。本作の”SWEDEN ROCK FESTIVAL”出演は、最終レッグである「欧州#3」の初日にあたるコンサートでした。この「欧州#3」以降の予定は発表されておらず、ロジャー・グローヴァーはスタジオ新作の製作を公言。言わば「オリジナル作以前のマクブライド加入時代」のラスト。歴史書で言うなら「マクブライド第一章の最終ページの最初の１行」といったところでしょうか。
そんな現場を真空パックした本作は、衝撃的なまでの極上オーディエンス。そのサウンドはサウンドボード級……いや、もはや「完全オフィシャル級」。とにかく猛烈タイトで超ダイレクト。ヘッドフォンで耳を澄ませてもオーディエンス要素が感じられず、脳みそに流し込まれる極太でゼロ距離な演奏音に占領される。野外フェスの”SWEDEN ROCK FESTIVAL”は、例年反響ゼロのタイトな名録音が期待できるのですが、一方で野外だからこそ気候による不安定感も懸念される。ところが、本作は野外の旨みだけが理想的に体現されつつ、懸念要素は微塵も感じられない。ここまでオフィシャル的な美しさとビシッとした安定感が実現するとは……。
