In 1973, David Bowie finished the last performance of “Ziggy Stardust” and released the 60’s cover album “Pinups”, which can be said to be a return to the origin, and the next challenge was produced as a TV show [The 1980 ・ floor show]. This special program, which was aired on the national popular music program “Midnight Special” for two weeks, was performed in a studio live format with the audience of the London Marquee Club reserved fan club. At this point, the unreleased new song “1984 ~ Doo Doo”, a cover from the album “Pinups”, “Space Oddity” and “Gene Genie” were performed, and guests included Marianne Faithfull, The Troggs, Carmen also participates. At the end, a duet with Marianne Faithfull, Sonny & Cher’s cover of “I Got You Babe” is also shown. Bowie’s backing includes Mick Ronson (guitar), who was the last co-star in the 70’s, Trevor Bolder (bass) of Spiders From Mars, and Mike Garson (piano), but the drummer later became Journey. It is noteworthy that Aynsley Dunbar, who is active in and Whitesnake, is serving. Immediately after filming, in November 1973, NBC-TV “Midnight Special” was aired nationwide, and although it was also broadcast in Japan at the time, it was not rebroadcast or made into a video after that, so the content was only poor image quality. I couldn’t see it, but in 2023, the 50th anniversary of the broadcast, the video at that time was finally released. The long-sealed legendary TV show has been lifted for the first time in 50 years. In this DVD conversion, sound skipping and image quality are restored from the original video, and the audio is recorded from the original mono sound source of the TV broadcast with the latest editing multi-track stereo remaster. [Original TV Master], the definitive version of the best quality in video and sound that surpasses the same content that has been distributed in the past, is now available for the first time. Furthermore, in addition to the TV broadcast version, [Complete Alternate Edition] that makes full use of pre-editing rehearsal images at different angles from the broadcast, including guest scenes that were cut in the broadcast and the main Bowie’s own images. Guest performances not broadcast on TV are also included in all songs. And here too, the original mono sound source has been made into a DVD with the latest edited multi-track stereo remaster, and the complete version is also included on the CD. Bowie who broke away from Ziggy Stardust’s alien character and transformed into a heretical Androgynus. A must-see video that records the appearance of Bowie at the end of the gram era, who was stunned by his decadent and eccentric outfit. Featured title lifted after 50 years! STARMAN EDITION! !

１９７３年デヴィッド・ボウイが”ジギー・スターダスト”最後の公演を終えて原点回帰といえる６０年代カバー・アルバム『ピンナップス』を発表し次に挑んだのがTVショウとして制作された【ザ・１９８０・フロア・ショウ】であった。全米人気音楽番組『ミッドナイト・スペシャル』で２週に渡って放映されたこのスペシャル・プログラムはロンドン・マーキー・クラブを貸し切りファンクラブの観客を入れてスタジオ・ライブ形式で行われた。この時点で未発表だった新曲「１９８４～ドゥー・ドゥー」はじめアルバム『ピンナップス』からのカバーや「スペイス・オディティー」「ジーン・ジニー」が演奏されゲストにはマリアンヌ・フェイスフル、ザ・トロッグス、カルメンも参加。ラストではマリアンヌ・フェイスフルとのデュエットでソニー＆シェールのカバー「アイ・ガット・ユー・ベイブ」も披露されている。ボウイのバックにはこれが７０年代最後の共演となったミック・ロンソン（ギター）はじめスパイダース・フロム・マーズのトレバー・ボルダー（ベース）、マイク・ガーソン（ピアノ）が参加しているがドラマーは後にジャーニーやホワイトスネイク等で活躍するエインズレイ・ダンバーが務めているのは注目である。撮影直後の１９７３年１１月にNBC‐TV『ミッドナイト・スペシャル』で全米放映され当時日本でも放送されたもののその後は再放送もなくビデオ化もされなかった為に画質の悪い映像でしかその内容を見ることが出来なかったが放送から５０年を迎えた２０２３年遂に当時の映像が配信公開。長らく封印された伝説のＴＶショウが５０年振りに解禁されました。今回のＤＶＤ化に際しては元映像から音飛びや画質を修復し音声はＴＶ放送オリジナルのモノ音源から最新編集によるマルチトラック・ステレオ・リマスターで収録。これまで過去に流通していた同内容を凌駕する映像も音もベスト・クオリティの決定版となる【オリジナルＴＶマスター】が初登場。さらにＴＶ放送バージョンに加え放送ではカットされたゲスト・シーンやメインのボウイ自身の映像も放送とは異なるアングルで編集前のリハーサル映像を駆使した【コンプリート・オルタネイト・エディジョン】を収録。ＴＶでは放送されていないゲスト演奏も全曲収録。そしてこちらもオリジナルのモノ音源から最新編集マルチトラック・ステレオ・リマスターでＤＶＤ化されておりＣＤにも完全版で収録。ジギー・スターダストの異星人キャラから脱却し異端のアンドロギュヌスに変貌したボウイ。退廃的でエキセントリックなブっ飛び衣装で度肝を抜いたグラム時代最後のボウイの姿を記録した必見映像。５０年の時を経て解禁された注目タイトル！永久保存の直輸入盤プレスＣＤ＆ＤＶＤ２枚組ＳＴＡＲＭＡＮ　ＥＤＩＴＩＯＮ！！
