Bob Dylan, who had a great success in the US tour that was carried out after a long time last fall, started the tour this year as well. This is clearly a satisfying result of last year’s results. His first tour of the year is currently underway, but this time the fastest release on CD-R from UXBRIDGE will be on March 6th in Albuquerque.
What is amazing, the sound image is too close anyway. Even if Dylan plays the keyboard sound before the band starts playing, you can feel “close”. Let’s just say he’s a model for audience recording that should be described as a “soundboard.” Anyway, it is a powerful sound image, and Dylan’s singing voice is also close.
This Albuquerque performance should have been realized in June 2020. However, it was canceled due to the pandemic of the coronavirus. The excitement of the venue was tremendous because it was finally realized. However, the sound source this time is an ultra audience who captured the performance more than such excitement. Could it have been released on a press CD? I can think of it.
The sound was so close that it was attractive to understand that the performance below Dylan was fulfilling, and it would be more accurate to compare him to high tension rather than the expression that he was full of energy from the opening. I don’t think he’s a very 80 year old.
The set list itself is exactly the same as last fall’s tour, and it is still a fixed pattern called “The Set” among fans. However, it is probably because he was able to complete the tour after a long time, and the strength of the performance and Dylan’s lively performance have clearly evolved from last year.
For example, at the beginning of “When I Paint My Masterpiece”, it is reliable that Dylan is blowing down the harmonica. Albuquerque’s audience was also enthusiastic before such an enthusiastic performance.
However, when it comes to a song like “Mother of Muses” that Dylan sings moistly, the venue changes and becomes quiet, and it seems that you can even hear the sound of the needle falling. Not only is Dylan enthusiastic about visiting Albuquerque for the first time in a while, but his stance of “listening when listening” contributes to the ease of listening to this superb sound source.
At the time of this release, the song has a lot of excitement around it, and it has been slightly equalized to suppress clapping, and it has evolved into an outstanding state where you can hear the sound quality that is easy to hear even more.
The sounds were so close that I could hear Dylan’s poor keyboard strokes (bitter smile), but that also conveys his joy of loving the stage.
That’s why Dylan’s enthusiastic singing with very high tension is heard throughout, and the band’s performance is reliable. It would be a lot of fun for him to sing along with the current band, and I’m surprised that the member introduction will introduce each person with a joke and laugh. It makes me happy to hear Dylan’s cheerful behavior.
Although this year’s tour has just begun, UXBRIDGE has released the fastest high-quality audience that seems to represent this year as soon as possible! It is a piece that you can enjoy this year’s Dylan with the best sound quality.
昨年の秋、久々に敢行されたアメリカ・ツアーが大成功を収めたボブ・ディランが今年もさっそくツアーを開始しました。これは明らかに昨年の結果に満足した結果なのでしょう。彼による今年最初のツアーは現在進行中ですが、今回UXBRIDGEからCD-Rにて最速リリースされるのは3月6日のアルバカーキ公演。
何が凄いって、とにかく音像が近すぎる。バンドが演奏を始める前にディランが鍵盤の音を鳴らしてみただけでも「近っ」と実感できるレベル。「まるでサウンドボード」と形容されるべきオーディエンス録音のお手本だと断言いたしましょう。とにかく大迫力の音像でして、なおかつディランの歌声も近い近い。
今回のアルバカーキ公演は本来なら2020年の6月に実現していたはずのもの。ところがコロナウィルスのパンデミック化を受けて中止となっていたのです。それが遂に実現したということから会場の盛り上がりは凄まじい。ところが今回の音源はそんな盛り上がりよりも演奏をオンに捉えてくれたウルトラ・オーディエンス。本来であればプレスCDでのリリースでもいけたのでは？と思えるほど。
あまりにも音が近いのでディラン以下の演奏の充実ぶりが手に取るように分かってしまうのも魅力でして、彼はオープニングから元気いっぱい…という表現よりもハイテンションと例えた方が正確でしょう。とても80歳の老人とは思えない。
セットリスト自体は昨年の秋のツアーとまったく同じものであり、ファンの間で所謂「The Set」と呼ばれる固定パターンであることは変わりません。しかし久々のツアーを完遂できたことが大きいのでしょう、演奏の力強さやディランのイキイキとしたパフォーマンスは明らかに昨年から進化している。
例えば「When I Paint My Masterpiece」の序盤ではこれでもかと言わんばかりにディランがハーモニカを吹き倒しているのが頼もしい限り。こうした熱演を前にアルバカーキのオーディエンスも大熱狂。
ところ「Mother of Muses」のようにディランがしっとり歌い上げる曲になると、会場は打って変わって静まり、それこそ針の落ちる音まで聞こえそうなほど。ただ久々にアルバカーキを訪れたディランに熱狂するだけでなく、ちゃんと「聞くときは聞く」というスタンスがこの極上音源の聞きやすさに貢献してくれている。
今回のリリースに際してはそんな周囲の盛り上がりが目立つ曲で手拍子などを抑えるイコライズを若干ながらも施しており、ただでさえ聞きやすい音質が一段と聞きこめる抜群の状態へと進化しました。
繰り返すようにあまりにも音が近いので、ディランの弾く拙い鍵盤の一打一打までもしっかり聞き取れてしまう（苦笑）のですが、そこからもステージを愛する彼の喜びが伝わってくるというもの。
だからこそ全体を通して非常にテンションの高いディランの熱唱が聞かれ、なおかつバンドの演奏が頼もしい。彼としても現在のバンドを従えて歌うのが相当に楽しいのでしょう、メンバー紹介では各人を冗談交じりで笑いながら紹介してみせるのだから驚き。そんなディランの陽気な振る舞いも聞いていて嬉しくなる。
まだ今年のツアーが始まったばかりだというのに、早くも今年を代表してしまいそうなハイクオリティ・オーディエンスがUXBRIDGEから最速リリース！今年のディランをさっそく極上音質で楽しめてしまう一枚です。
