過去よりファンには定番音源である、「TURNSTILES」発表時の、1976年6月10日ニューヨークはボトムライン公演のアップグレード版が登場です。音の鮮度・パンチ・広がり・クリアネスと全てのポイントで既発盤を凌駕しており、ファン必聴の一枚になっています。冒頭には既発未収のオープニング・アナウンスとショウエンドのSouvenirとDJのアウトロもそれぞれ収録。故郷のニューヨークに帰って、セルフプロデュースで作成された自信作「TURNSTILES」から、その殆どの楽曲をプレイ。オープニングでは同アルバムからダイナミックなPrelude-Angry Young Manが、また後に代表曲となるNew York State Of Mindも中盤でプレイされます。更に嬉しいことに1978年3月5日のアムステルダム公演を超高音質ステレオ・サウンドボード録音で追加収録。こちらは約34分と短めのテイクですが、「ストレンジャー」発表時の頃ののりにのっている時期のライブを高品質なサウンドで楽しむことができます。Just The Way You Are、She’s Always A Woman、Viennaの収録が嬉しいファン必聴音源です。

1976年6月10日のボトム・ライン公演と言えばビリーのブートレッグの中でも一番音盤化されている音源であり、FM放送からのサウンドボード録音にもかかわらず、一向に音の良いものはリリースされないので、ファンには要注意音源とされてきた。しかし起死回生のこのアップグレード版は過去の全ての盤を上回る厚みのある音質とDJイントロ＆アウトロや、なんと言っても殆どの盤に未収録の「Souvenir」が聴けることであり、初めて演奏された曲を完全収録したのは特筆に値する。オフィシャル・リリースされない限りトップであり、もちろん演奏の良さは言うまでもない。初期ライヴ音源の代表格なので来日公演を観てファンになった方にもぜひ聴いて頂きたいマスト・アイテムである。とにかく頂点に向かい、ライヴ三昧で鍛え上げられた若き日のビリーの勢いを感じてほしい。これを聴けば翌年の『The Stranger』での人気爆発も当然のことだと頷ける。日本でも80年代前半に一度だけ「ライヴ・フロム・ザ・ボトム・ライン」というFM番組で不完全ながら放送された音源でもある。ボーナスの1978年アムステルダムもFM音源で良質であるものの、完全収録でないのでオマケと考えるのが良いだろう。有名なBBCやドイツ、ブレーメンのTVに出演する直前なので、演奏自体はさらに熱いものが聴ける。
