1971年「The Yes Album」のリリースに合わせて行われたヨーロッパ・ツアーより3月27日のドイツはベルリン公演を極上レベルの超高音質オーディエンス録音で約40分収録。ライン録音かと聴き間違える程に、大変優れたクリアーな音質で収録。近年、出現した、マスター・クオリティ・ヴァージョンを収録。既発盤との音質の差は歴然としており、この時代の観客席録音としては別格と断言できるウルトラ・クリアーなサウンドで収録されています。オープニングはこの時期、定番のSE「2001年宇宙の旅」でもお馴染みの「ツァラトゥストラはかく語りき」。間髪入れずスタートする、ストレートかつダイナミックなYours Is No Disgraceにノックアウトされること間違いありません。若々しく、猛々しいまでのノリに満ちた演奏は、凄まじい音の説得力をもって、全ての聴き手を魅了することでしょう。この曲でのハウのソロは、ジャズの影響をより色濃く感じさせてくれます。スピーディなI’ve Seen All Good Peopleは、後のライブヴァージョンでは決して聴くことのできない、この時期ならではのグルーヴィな魅力を感じさせてくれます。クリスの放つゴリゴリしたベースノートに奇抜なオカズで攻めまくるビルのドラムが絡み、強烈なリズムを構築していく様は圧巻です。ハウのアコースティックに続く約9分のPerpetual Changeは、形容し難い強烈なオリジナリティを感じさせてくれます。(1:19にリールのテープチェンジのような音と共にカットが入りますが、直ぐに復旧します。)元々ずっと音は良いのですが、Perpetual Change5分目位からマイクの位置がより楽音に寄ったのか、更に音質が向上します。曲後半のハウのロングソロは必聴。ラストに収録された約4分弱のブラフォードの迫力満点のソロは高音質完全収録。独特のタイム感を満載させながらも、クリムゾン時代とはまた違う、よりオーセンティックな超高品質な技巧をたっぷりと堪能できます。シンフォニック・ロックと言った言葉は勿論、プログレッシヴ・ロックの定義付けすら、まだ完全には確立していなかったこの時期、自由なフィールドで、有り余る才能の武器に新しい音楽にチャレンジする5人の創造性豊かな演奏は全てのロック・ファン必聴と言っても過言ではありません。非常に密度の濃い40分であり、本来ならプレスCDでのリリースが相応しい決定盤音源。大推薦の1枚です。


当日はオープンリールで録音されたものだと思われ、高域から低域にかけてバランスの良いオーディエンス録音が堪能できる。ほどよくノイズカット処理が行われているため、とても聴きやすい音質である。最後の「Perpetual Change」でのビルのドラム・ソロは『イエスソングス』とは異なる圧巻のパフォーマンスである。(中略)現時点ではクォリティ的に最上級クラスのものと言えるだろう。
