It’s a wonderful live sound source of Weather Report. The weather is famous for Jaco Pastorius, but Miroslav Vitous is the original bassist in the first place. It’s a jazz rock that is completely different from the good and bad pop fusion-oriented sounds of the Jaco era. Rather closer to Electric Miles. That’s not surprising, and the Weather Report was initiated by Wayne Shorter and Joe Zawinul to experience electricization under Miles. “DIRECTIONS”, “IN A SILENT WAY” and “IT’S ABOUT THAT TIME”, which are familiar to both set lists and Electric Miles, are listed. And the ultimate is Zawinul’s original “BOOGIE WOOGIE WALTZ” which is the coolest. The sound quality is based on the 2022 broadcast sound source. Hiss was strong, but it has been improved by careful noise reduction, and even beginners can enjoy it with confidence. Not to mention those who like jazz rock, those who like Miles’ electric era are sure to like it.

ウェザー・リポートの素晴らしいライヴ音源です。ジャコ・パストリアスで有名なウェザーですが、そもそもはこのミロソラフ・ヴィトウスこそがオリジナル・ベーシスト。ジャコ時代のような良くも悪くもポップなフュージョン寄りのサウンドとは全く違うジャズ・ロックです。むしろエレクトリック・マイルス寄り。と言ってもそれは当然で、マイルスの元でエレクトリック化を体験し、それを実現すべくウェイン・ショーターとジョー・ザヴィヌルが始めたのがウェザー・リポートです。セット・リストにもエレクトリック・マイルスでもお馴染み『DIRECTIONS』『IN A SILENT WAY』『IT’S ABOUT THAT TIME』が名を連ねています。そして極めつけは最高にカッコいいザヴィヌルのオリジナル『BOOGIE WOOGIE WALTZ』。音質は2022年の放送音源をマスターにしています。ヒスが強めでしたが丁寧なノイズリダクションで改善し、初心者でも安心して楽しめるレヴェルです。ジャズ・ロックが好きな方は言わずもがな、マイルスのエレクトリック時代が好きな方も気に入る事請け合いです。
