This is VAN HALEN in 1979. I came back to Fresno just half a year after the first “FRESNO 1978: THE VIDEO”, but this time it’s the best. It was a concert on the first day of the World Tour, just three days after the release of “Van Halen II”.
This work, which recorded such a show, is as good as the 1978 edition … The basics of the series are left to the explanation of “FRESNO 1978: THE VIDEO”, and the film image quality that exceeds the video and the length of one cut that exceeds the common sense of film shooting are the same as the first one, but the sound is even more intense. The first one is also an unconventional sound recorded by the audience in the 70’s, but this work is even more amazing. Although the previous work was extremely clear, the tone was engraved with a proof of the guest record, and especially the snare had an undeniable lightness. On the other hand, this work is clear and dense. An extra-thick core that doesn’t feel like a sense of distance jumps into your ears, and you can’t even feel the audience’s tone.
This is not only better than the first one. In fact, this show has long been known to be a great recording of the audience, but it’s better than its pre-existing sound. Even though the live album was powerful, the deep bass was crushed, but the sound of this work was neat in every corner, the shout of Diamond Dave stretched out, and Michael’s chorus was super beautiful. And Eddie’s guitar work is terrifyingly sharp, even for modest cutting. Moreover, it is overwhelmingly natural. I didn’t raise the sound pressure by equalizing, nor did I emphasize the edges. It’s sharp and sharp, but it doesn’t pierce your ears and its peaks don’t distort. It’s just the vividness that is drawn only by the goodness of the recording and the freshness of the master.
The sound quality was so much that I couldn’t help but talk about the sound, but the video was amazing. Brightness is the most eye-catching. The scene is the same “Seland Arena” as the previous work, but perhaps the success of the debut work is reflected, the lighting is more luxurious and brighter than the previous work. In that scene, the zoom that approaches Guigui clearly shows even the finest parts, and Dave’s blonde and Eddie’s smile are perfect. That is the beauty of the image as if it were one angle of a professional shot.
It would be best to actually see the show drawn with such quality rather than arranging a hundred words. Not only has the “Van Halen II” repertoire been introduced and the variety has increased, but the experience of traveling around the world is directly linked to the sense of scale and is ridiculously dynamic. Until 1984, the world was enthusiastic, and the polar region of American HR, which is unparalleled even today, has been completed.
“FRESNO 1978: THE VIDEO”, which captures the appearance immediately after debut, is also a shock that is more than enough, but the quality of this work is even higher.
