Last masterpiece with Sammy Hager 1995 VAN HALEN who sent out “BALANCE” and was walking toward the end of the golden age. Two live albums that update the highest peak of the big classic sound board album are released at the same time. Of course, it will be permanently preserved on the press CD!
“January 27, 1995 Arnhem performance” is engraved in this work, which is the first release of two titles at the same time. It is the stereo sound board recording. This show is not part of the so-called world tour, but a promotion accompanying the release of the album “BALANCE”. It was a secret gig that invited fan clubs and related parties. First of all, let’s look back on the schedule at that time in order to know such a situation.

main press CD is the world’s first live performance of the masterpiece of “BALANCE” on a stereo sound board recording. It is a decisive board to update Takamine. As mentioned in the commentary, this show is broadcast not only on the radio but also on TV. The professional shot has also become a staple. The highest quality is the radio broadcast version of the press CD, but the video version that tells you the “other side” is also included as a bonus.
That’s why this work contains a multi-camera pro shot of “January 27, 1995 Arnhem performance”. However, although it must be a “multi-camera pro shot” in fact, it is a little different from what you can imagine from that word. Roughly speaking, camera work is miscellaneous. There is no doubt that multiple cameras are used because there is switching, but it feels like “somehow shooting” rather than freely pursuing the highlights. Although the camera that captures the facial expressions of the three front people is reasonable, the main one used is the distant view. What’s more, the whole view of the stage is taken from a considerable distance, and it looks like an audience shot on the second floor (it seems that there is a spotlight in the immediate vicinity, so it seems that it is not an audience seat shooting).
I don’t know if it’s recommended or not, but of course this work is a must-see. No matter how much the distant view camera is, it is VAN HALEN that is projected there, and the zoom camera is perfectly professional. Moreover, the narrow and narrow club scale is extremely rare. The energies of the four people who usually own a huge arena or stadium are concentrated on a cramped stage, and they are enthusiastic about the audience with a sense of distance that can be touched by reaching out. You can also experience the birthday song big chorus scene mentioned in the explanation of the main story as a professional shot. The real thrill of it is fully packed.

Such a live is a must-see, but the main part of the program is rather a backstage interview. As if all four of us were together, we made a lot of laughing comments, and now that we know what happened after that, the goodness of the friendship itself is tickling. Moreover, Eddie’s appearance is also rare. In the “BALANCE” era, the “short hair & beard” that is also in the artwork has a slightly ossan-like image, but Eddie in this work has short hair but no beard. On top of that, she smiles and makes her look youthful like a high school student.
