Gary Moore’s fortunes changed drastically in 1990 with the hit of his masterpiece “STILL GOT THE BLUES”. Two new recordings by the sisters that will allow you to experience the tour they went on with Albert Collins will be released at the same time.
This work is the sister work of sister recordings that will be released at the same time. This is a masterpiece audience recording of “May 18, 1990 Stuttgart Performance”. Speaking of “STILL GOT THE BLUES Tour”, two official videos “AN EVENING OF THE BLUES” and “LIVE AT MONTREUX 1990” were also left, but of course this work is a separate performance. First, let’s take a look at the overview of the activities at the time and check the positional relationship between them.

《“STILL GOT THE BLUES” released in March》
・April 30th – May 2nd: Europe #1 (3 performances)
・May 6th-11th: UK #1 (5 performances) ← *Official AN EVENING OF THE BLUES
・May 14th – June 7th: Europe #2 (18 performances) ←★Here★
・June 10th-20th: UK #2 (9 performances)
・June 22nd – July 7th: Europe #3 (5 performances) ← *Official MONTREUX 1990
・August 10: Denmark performance
・August 13th-15th: UK #3 (3 performances)
・August 17th – September 2nd: Europe #3 (13 performances)

This is Gary Moore in 1990. Although he moved back and forth between Britain and the continent, he never left Europe. Perhaps because “STILL GOT THE BLUES” was the first to receive a gold disc in the United States, there is an impression that “the blues route = for the United States,” but this is a misunderstanding. In fact, it was a big hit in Europe, where it was awarded platinum in the UK and double platinum in Sweden, where it had previously only received a silver disc. In fact, in his 20-year blues era, he only performed live in North America twice (excluding media appearances such as TV). In reality, it was the “blues route ≡ for Europe.”
Quiet topic.
In such “STILL GOT THE BLUES Tour”, both of these sister works were recorded as “Europe #2”. The Stuttgart performance of this work was the fourth performance, and it was also one week after the official video “AN EVENING OF THE BLUES”.
This work, which is a vacuum-packed version of such a show, is the first sound source by the much-talked-about master. The master is “Stephane”. If you have been paying attention to this article, you may know that “Stephane” is a person who released great HR/HM recordings one after another from the late 80’s to the early 90’s. She has released masterpieces by various bands, including press masterpieces such as BLACK SABBATH’s “DEFINITIVE PARIS 1992 (Zodiac 467)” and IRON MAIDEN’s “DEFINITIVE PARIS 1993 (Zodiac 469)”. It is surprising and delighting HR/HM collectors around the world. These two works are the Gary Moore edition of such a master taper.
And, that quality is something that further enhances the fame of the master. Although the sound is typical of an audience that has absorbed the sounds of the hall, the atmosphere is clear and the core that runs through the middle is very clear. The details and sense of separation are vivid, and even when the eight-person large household overlaps, they don’t mix. Particularly wonderful are the guitar and singing voice of Gary, the main character. The vocals can be clearly understood down to every single word of the lyrics, and the guitar also conveys the range of crying vibrato.
What is depicted with such a master sound is a fresh full show that has just stepped into the world of blues. The set is slightly different from the sister work “PARIS 1990”, so let’s organize it while comparing.

●Original (4 songs)
・Midnight Blues/Still Got The Blues/Texas Strut/Moving On
●Cover (11 songs)
・Albert Collins: Too Tired/Cold Cold Feeling/Farther Up The Road
・Others: Oh, Pretty Woman/Walking By Myself/All Your Love (I Miss Loving)/The Stumble/You Don’t Love Me/Stop Messin’ Around/Caldonia (★)/The Messiah Will Come Again
*Note: Songs marked with “★” cannot be heard on the sister album “PARIS 1990”.

…and it looks like this. “PARIS 1990” was a set based on the official video “LIVE AT MONTREUX 1990”, but this work also shows Louis Jordan’s “Caldonia”, which was not played there. Then, in the middle, Texas hero Albert Collins also appeared and co-starred in three songs. Collins also sang the vocals on T-Bone Walker’s “Cold Cold Feeling.”
“STILL GOT THE BLUES Tour” changed Gary’s life greatly. You can fully experience the scene with masterful sound…that’s all there is to it. The collection of master taper “Stephane” has begun to be whispered about as being “greater than GManOF and Per Erik!?” due to its high average quality with no missed recordings. Please take a closer look and experience it this week.

★A masterpiece audience recording of “May 18, 1990 Stuttgart Performance”. A new excavation master from the popular “Stephane” collection, the atmosphere is clear and transparent, and the core that runs through the middle is very clear. The details and sense of separation are vivid, and even when the eight-person large household overlaps, they don’t mix. You can experience “Caldonia” that cannot be heard on “LIVE AT MONTREUX 1990” and co-starring with Albert Collins in clear sound.

“STILL GOT THE BLUES Tour”と言えば、2つの公式映像『AN EVENING OF THE BLUES』『LIVE AT MONTREUX 1990』も残されたわけですが、もちろん本作は別公演。

『STILL GOT THE BLUES』がアメリカで初めてゴールド・ディスクを獲得したせいか「ブルース路線=米国向け」というイメージもありますが、これは誤解。

Midnight Blues/Still Got The Blues/Texas Strut/Moving On
Too Tired/Cold Cold Feeling/Farther Up The Road
Oh, Pretty Woman/Walking By Myself/All Your Love (I Miss Loving)/The Stumble/You Don’t Love Me/Stop Messin’ Around/Caldonia(★)/The Messiah Will Come Again

ゲイリーの人生を大きく変えた“STILL GOT THE BLUES Tour”。
