３年ぶりに一晩だけの来日公演を行った2014年のテイラー・スウィフト。その現場をフル体験できるオリジナル映像がギフト・リリース決定です。
そんな本作が撮影されたのは「2014年６月１日さいたまスーパーアリーナ」公演。その傑作オーディエンス録音です。撮影者本人から譲られたオリジナル・マスターなのですが、そのクオリティは極上。ステージ右上のアングルからの撮影で、テイラーを詳細に追おうと少々落ち着かないアングルではあるものの、その画質・発色は本当に見事。満天の星空のごとく広大な客席の光景だけでも感動的ですが、鮮やかなドレス、飛び交うダンサーたち、ディズニーばりの幻想世界、目を奪われる早替え、そしてバンジョーを構えるテイラーの格好良さ！　特に、客席を突っ切ってステージを移動するシーンは圧巻。そのすべてを見たい放題目撃できる映像作なのです。

……と、このようになっています。当時の新作『RED』の約半分を大盤振る舞いするセットは当時なればこそ。日本公演が１日だけだったのが今さらのように惜しまれるショウです。そして、セット以上に感動的なのはテイラーの歌声と滲み出る人柄。たった１回のライヴのために覚えたであろう日本語ＭＣを交え、英語ＭＣも一言一言を噛みしめるように話しかける。「分かる人だけ分かればいい」といった傲慢さがなく、「来てくれた全員に楽しんで欲しい」という気持ちが素直に伝わり、ハッピーで心温まる名曲たちが一層キラキラと輝くのです。
そんな華やかなポップソングも楽しいですが、素朴な彼女の魅力、そして録音の魅力が一層輝くのがカントリーシンガーの素顔がのぞく曲。「Red」や「Mean」、そしてショウの中盤で披露されるアコースティック・セットです。ここではメインステージからＢステージに移動し、楽音も少し遠目になる。音響的に聴けば欠点にもなりかねないはずのポイントなのですが、それがまたいいのです。ステージのリアルな立体感が醸し出され、エコー成分の増したサウンドでギター１本の弾き語りが遠くまで響き渡る。静かに、暖かく、しかし凛とした歌声。広がったエコーは日本人らしい控え目な合唱と混じり合い、ひとつに溶けていく……。ことさら劇的に煽るでもなく、胸が締めつけられるひとときです。
じっくりと感動がこみ上げる「Sparks Fly」で再びメインステージに移動しますが、そこでまた「目の前に彼女が戻ってきた！」という狂乱が巻き起こる。嬌声というのは時に癇に障りかねませんが、こちらも音楽と歌声にヤラれているからこそ、熱狂も感動を高める演出にさえなってしまうのです。
