Message In A Bottle/Walking On The Moon/So Lonely/Roxanne

「If You Love Somebody Set Them Free」は「欧州#1」の『LES DEFERLANTES 2023(Uxbridge 1982)』でも聴けましたが。「北米#2」に入ってさらに「Why Should I Cry for You?」「All This Time」もセット入り。

Sting is celebrating his 45th anniversary since his debut and is still pushing forward with his “MY SONGS Tour.” A masterpiece video that allows you to witness the latest stage has arrived.
This work was filmed at the “Atlantic City performance on September 3, 2023.” This is the spectacular audience shot. It’s already been half a year since the performance in Japan to celebrate the end of the coronavirus, but Sting has been energetically touring the world ever since. First, let’s take a look at its progress and confirm the position of this work.

This is the schedule announced so far. If things go as usual, it would be a good time to announce next year’s show, but the schedule for 2024 is still blank. Maybe there is a project waiting for us after the “MY SONGS Tour” that lasted four and a half years. In any case, we are currently in the midst of the main leg of 2023, “North America #2.” The Atlantic City performance of this work was the third concert that was the beginning.
This work, which allows you to witness such a show, is a masterpiece video that depicts a “superb view” in a painting. This is a distant view from the rear of the venue, but the viewpoint is so high that you can’t see any of the audience. This is not about the shadow of the front row. Even the audience in the front row was not visible in the field of view, which was directly in front of the stage. You can tell that it’s a real concert because you’re absorbing the excited cheers, but if you just look at the video, it looks like a stage rehearsal.
Of course, when it comes to distant views, you are concerned about the sense of distance, but you don’t have to worry about that with this work. The screen, which seems to have been made using the latest equipment, does not blur even with bold zooming, and it is extremely beautiful even when Sting’s upper body approaches to fill the screen. Furthermore, the camera work that keeps Sting in the center of the screen is also skillful. Coupled with the spectacular view where the audience cannot be seen, it would be more appropriate to say that this is actually a shot taken by a camera set up at the venue, rather than an image of the audience seats.
The latest version of the “MY SONGS Tour”, which has continued to evolve and change, is depicted with such visual beauty that leaves the audience alone. For us, the Japan performance half a year ago is burned into our memory, so let’s organize the set while comparing it with the Japan masterpiece “TOKYO 2023 2ND NIGHT (Uxbridge 1865)”.

●Police (7 songs)
・70s: Message In A Bottle/Walking On The Moon/So Lonely/Roxanne
・80s: Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic/King Of Pain/Every Breath You Take
●Solo (13 songs)
・Soul Cage: Why Should I Cry for You? (★) / All This Time (★) / Mad About You
・Ten Summoners Tales: If I Ever Lose My Faith In You/Fields Of Gold/Heavy Cloud No Rain/Shape Of My Heart
・Others: Englishman In New York/If You Love Somebody Set Them Free (★)/Loving You/Brand New Day/Desert Rose/Fragile
*Note: Songs marked with a ★ were not performed at the Japan performance in March.

…and it looks like this. “If You Love Somebody Set Them Free” could also be heard on the “Europe #1” “LES DEFERLANTES 2023 (Uxbridge 1982)”. In addition to “North America #2”, “Why Should I Cry for You?” and “All This Time” are also included in the set. Because these numbers are played in quick succession, the middle part of the show has the appearance of “THE SOUL CAGES section”.
“MY SONGS Tour” showed a variety of expressions with a number of minor changes. It is a video masterpiece that allows you to fully experience the latest version from the special seats. Even if you play it simply, it’s a juke box that summarizes your glorious career, and if you face the screen directly, the memories of the performance in Japan will come back to life. This is a recommended piece that will suit any type of enjoyment. Please enjoy it as an accompaniment to the autumn nights that are about to get longer.

★Spectacular audience shot of “September 3, 2023 Atlantic City Performance”. The view of the stage directly in front of you is so spectacular that even the audience in the front row can’t even see it, and if you just look at the video, it almost looks like a stage rehearsal. Even when the upper half of Sting’s upper body fills the screen, he looks super beautiful, and he also performed delicious new stages of “If You Love Somebody Set Them Free,” “Why Should I Cry for You?,” and “All This Time,” which he didn’t perform in Japan. You can experience special seats.
