“THE POLICE REUNION Tour” of the century that delivered dreams to the world. A full live album that allows you to experience the scene with sound beyond the official is now available.
“Auckland performance on June 13, 2007” is imbued in this work. It is a very thick & close audience recording that tells the whole story. It’s been 15 years since the reunion THE POLICE frenzy, and it’s been a long time since I’ve introduced the record. In order to evoke memories, let’s first look back from the schedule at that time.

《“CERTIFIABLE” released on November 11》

This is THE POLICE of the reunion era that made the world dreamy. Speaking of its symbolic work, the official “CERTIFIABLE” reigns, but the Auckland performance of this work was about half a year ago. The beginning of the tour was also the ninth concert of “North America # 1”, which is the beginning of the tour.
This work, which is a vacuum-packed version of such a show, is a superb master provided by an overseas THE POLICE researcher. At our shop, we have introduced a number of soundboard albums under the supervision of this researcher, but this work is one of the products that received the recommendation of “This is it!” While being an audience. In fact, the sound is a superb audience with “super” that shocks you when you listen to it. When played back, a realistic atmosphere that seems to be the audience flows out, but when the performance starts, the performance sound and vocals are very close and surprised! “There’s no sense of distance, it’s more like the front row or more in front of you.”
I’m guessing from here, but it’s possible that they were stuck to the PA set far from the stage and recorded. The “Auckland Coliseum”, which became the site, is a huge venue of Tokyo Dome class, but on the other hand, it has an open structure with no roof or ceiling that reflects sound. If you take a position on the side of the PA, you can directly pick up the sound with no echo. Moreover, in this work, the great enthusiasm between songs is strangely distant, and it can be felt far away from the close performance sound. It may be difficult to say that the “PA side of the distant seat” is the best seat for watching the show, but the recording artist who made this work dared to choose it.
A full set different from the official “CERTIFIABLE” is depicted with such a super direct sound. Let’s put things in order here.

… and it looks like this. 3 songs each from “Shiroi Regatta” and “Ghost in the Machine”, and 5 songs each from the other 3 works, concentrating masterpieces. Two songs “The Bed’s Too Big Without You” and “Spirits in the Material World” are repertoires played only in the early tour “North America # 1”.
And the performance that spells out such a set is also the best! With any band, it takes about 5 performances for the engine to warm up, and the 9th performance is just the right time to go full power. Moreover, this work is a reunion tour that will excite the whole world, and the anxiety before the start was transformed into confidence after receiving a great welcome. You can enjoy a full show that makes you enjoy the reunion just before you have room to change the set after that.
Right now, the “dream” is becoming a reality in front of us… the scene was full of joy at the beginning of the tour. It is a live album where you can experience the full show with super direct sound. That’s the super sound daimyo board that can be said to be more than the official “CERTIFIABLE”. Please experience it to the fullest.

★ Superb audience recording of “Auckland performance on June 13, 2007”. There is no sense of distance, and the sound is super close to the front row and above. Not only is it an open stadium with zero response, but the performance sound and vocals that are far closer than the loud cheers that were right next to the PA are even more than the official “CERTIFIABLE”. そんな本作に吹き込まれているのは「2007年６月13日オークランド公演」。その一部始終を伝える極太＆ド密着オーディエンス録音です。再結成THE POLICEの狂乱からすでに15年が経ち、その記録をご紹介するのも久しぶり。記憶を呼び起こすためにも、まずは当時のスケジュールから振り返ってみましょう。

これが世界を夢見心地にさせた再結成時代のTHE POLICE。その象徴作品と言えば公式『CERTIFIABLE』が君臨しているわけですが、本作のオークランド公演はその約半年前。ツアーの序盤も序盤にあたる「北米#1」の９公演目のコンサートでした。
そんなショウを真空パックした本作は、海外のTHE POLICE研究家から提供された超極上マスター。当店ではこの研究家の監修を受けて数々のサウンドボード・アルバムをご紹介してきましたが、本作はオーディエンスながら「これぞ！」の推薦を受けた銘品中の銘品なのです。実際、そのサウンドは聴いて衝撃が走る「超」付きの極上オーディエンス。再生するとオーディエンスらしいリアルな雰囲気が流れ出るのですが、いざ開演すると演奏音もヴォーカルも超間近でびっくり！　距離感などまるでなく、最前列以上の目の前感なのです。
ここからは推測ですが、恐らくはステージから遠い場所に設置されたPAに張り付いて録音したのではないでしょうか。現場となった“オークランド・コロシアム”は東京ドーム級の巨大会場なのですが、その一方で音を反射する屋根も天井もないオープン構造。ＰＡの側に陣取れば、反響ゼロの出音をダイレクトに拾えるのです。しかも、本作は曲間の大熱狂が妙に遠く、ド密着な演奏音の遙か彼方に感じられる。「遠方席のＰＡ側」はショウを観るためのベスト・シートとは言い難いかも知れませんが、本作をモノした録音家はあえて選んでくれたのでしょう。
そんな超ダイレクト・サウンドで画かれるのは、公式『CERTIFIABLE』とも異なるフルセット。ここでその内容を整理しておきましょう。

……と、このようになっています。『白いレガッタ』『ゴースト・イン・ザ・マシーン』から３曲ずつ、他３作から５曲ずつで名曲を濃縮している。「The Bed’s Too Big Without You」「Spirits in the Material World」の２曲はツアー初期「北米#1」でのみ演奏されたレパートリーです。
そして、そんなセットを綴るパフォーマンスも最高！　どんなバンドでもエンジンが暖まるまで５公演くらいはかかるもので、９公演目というのはちょうど全力運転に入るタイミングです。しかも本作は全世界が沸き立つ再結成ツアーであり、開始前の不安が大歓待を受けて自信に転化。その後のセットを変化させる余裕が生まれる寸前の、リユニオンを無心に楽しむようなフルショウが味わえるのです。
