The symbolic soundboard album, which is said to be the masterpiece of “A MOMENTARY LAPSE OF REASON Tour” and is also called “Real version of light: PERFECT LIVE!”, Has been fully brushed up. Introducing the permanent storage press 4CD that has been refined by detailed mastering by “GRAF ZEPPELIN”.
[True “PERFECT LIVE!” That you can enjoy with a live feeling through“August 20, 1988 + 21 Nassau Coliseum performance” is recorded on the masterpiece sound board. It is the transcendental stereo sound board recording. Speaking of “1988 Nassau”, it is also famous for producing the official live work “Hikari: PERFECT LIVE!”, But the official work is an edited work woven from five consecutive nights of performances. On the other hand, this work is a “real live” that is a one-shot recording of a live performance. It is a sound board leaked from the people involved in the two performances (August 20th and 21st). However, it is not “2 performances, 4 discs = 2 discs x 2”, but a little special. First of all, let’s keep in mind the form of this work.

… And it looks like this. “A MOMENTARY LAPSE OF REASON Tour” is a three-section system of “Part 1 = Depression-based / Part 2 = Classics / Encore 2 songs”, and this work is a 3 section division of the “August 20” performance. Full recording in a set. Furthermore, the next day, it is a 4-disc set with only the first part of “August 21st” placed on DISC 4.
At this point, you might think that the full version of the official PERFECT LIVE! Has come out, but that is not easy. As mentioned above, “Hikari” is an edited work, and each song is brought from another live. There is no sense of one-time live performance that flows non-stop. Moreover, it is obvious from the form. The official full version is a two-disc set with “Encore + Part 2” on one disc. Of course, this doesn’t just cut the waiting for Angkor. Even if only the “Part 2” part is taken, “Official = about 63 minutes”, while “This work = about 73 minutes”. We continue to play at a pace that is impossible in a live performance, and it is completely different from the real experience.
At the time of “Sigma 120”, it was a so-called “completely official class”, but when checking the waveform at the instantaneous level, there was still room for improvement. As expected, there was no gap in the pitch anymore, but the volume adjustment was just barely enough to prevent the waveform from collapsing, and the phase shift was corrected to 1/1000 second. And above all, correction of chipping. Actually, the master produced by the overseas enthusiast mentioned above had a moment (2 seconds) missing in “Us And Them”. Moreover, it is in the middle of the performance, not between songs. It was only one note level of the phone, and it didn’t matter because it was beaten neatly (no one noticed it), but it was discovered in this detailed investigation. It goes back to the original Wolfgang outflow master and complements it (By the way, the MC after the end of “The Dogs Of War” is also complemented with AUD for about 2 seconds, but this is the same as “Sigma 120” is).
This work, which has been refined with the utmost precision, is truly the supreme live album. As mentioned above, each point is so fine that it may be difficult to notice the difference, but if dust accumulates, it will become a mountain. Even the word “completely official class” makes the voice beauty, which is an iron wall and does not shake even fine dust, feel empty in the whole story. I mean, even if you actually listen to the official full version “Hikari: PERFECT LIVE!” Side by side, you won’t give up half a step. This work can be discriminated because of the vividness of the unprocessed on-site mix, but if you allow it even a little, you may be wondering, “Are you listening to the official one now?”
The official “Hikari: PERFECT LIVE!” Has evolved into a long, complete version, and it seems that the Nassau sound board has finished its role. However, the actual official product was far from the “complete form of the show” just by increasing the number of songs. This work is a sound board album that gives you a full experience of “A MOMENTARY LAPSE OF REASON Tour” with such a wonderful “feeling of experience”. It is the ultimate form. Because it is the pinnacle, I want to bring it with the ultimate product. A set of 4 presses that gives shape to that desire. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content.

This is a 4-disc set with “August 21 (Part 1 only)” added to the full-recorded 3-disc set of “August 20”. “A MOMENTARY LAPSE OF REASON Tour”の最高傑作にして、「リアル版の光：PERFECT LIVE!」とも言われる象徴サウンドボード・アルバムがフル・ブラッシュアップ。「GRAF ZEPPELIN」による細密マスタリングで磨き込まれた永久保存プレス４CDが登場です。
【通しのライヴ感で楽しめる、真なる“PERFECT LIVE!”】
その最高傑作サウンドボードに記録されているのは「1988年８月20日＋21日ナッソー・コロシアム公演」。その超絶級ステレオ・サウンドボード録音です。「1988年のナッソー」と言えば、公式ライヴ作品『光：PERFECT LIVE!』を生み出したことでも有名ですが、公式作品は５夜連続公演から編まれた編集作品。それに対し、本作は通しライヴを一発録音した「本物ライヴ」。２公演（８月20日／21日）の関係者流出サウンドボードなのです。ただし「２公演分・４枚組＝２枚組×２」ではなく、ちょっと特殊。まずは、本作の形態を頭に入れておきましょう。

……と、このようになっています。“A MOMENTARY LAPSE OF REASON Tour”は「第一部＝鬱主体／第二部＝クラシックス／アンコール２曲」という３セクション制であり、本作は「８月20日」公演をセクション割り通りの３枚組でフル収録。さらに翌日「８月21日」の第一部だけをDISC 4に配した４枚組なのです、
ここで「公式のPERFECT LIVE!も完全版が出たじゃないか」と思われるかも知れませんが、そう話は簡単ではありません。前述の通り『光』は編集作品であり、１曲１曲が別ライヴから持ってきたもの。ノンストップで流れる１回ライヴの通し感がないのです。しかも、それは形態からも一目瞭然。公式の完全版は２枚組でして「アンコール＋第二部」でディスク１枚にしているのです。もちろん、これはアンコール待ちをカットしてるだけではない。「第二部」パートだけ取っても「公式＝約63分」なのに対し「本作＝約73分」。本番ライヴではあり得ないペースで矢継ぎ早に演奏を続けていき、本当の体験感とはまるで違うのです。
【超精密マスタリングで磨き直した究極盤】
「リアル版の光：PERFECT LIVE!」の意味をご理解いただいたところで、いよいよ本題。本作最大のポイントとなるクオリティです。このサウンドボードの大元は2013年に発掘された流出マスターで、その決定盤は2015年に海外マニアが磨き込んでアップグレードさせた『NASSAU COLISEUM 1988（Sigma 120）』でした。本作は、その『Sigma 120』を全力再点検。ヴィンテージ録音のマスタリングでは定評のある「GRAF ZEPPELIN」が微に入り、細に入って磨き直した最高峰更新版なのです。
『Sigma 120』の時点でいわゆる「完全オフィシャル級」だったわけですが、瞬間レベルで波形をチェックすると向上の余地は残されていました。さすがに今さらピッチにヌケはありませんでしたが、波形が潰れないギリギリの音量調整、1/1000秒まで突き詰めた位相ズレの補正。そして何より、欠けの補正。実は、前述した海外マニアが制作したマスターには「Us And Them」に一瞬（２秒）ほどのヌケがあった。しかも曲間ではなく、演奏の真っ最中。ホンの１音レベルですし、綺麗に拍合わせされていたために問題にならなかった（誰も気づかなかった）のですが、今回の精密調査で発覚。大元となるWolfgangの流出マスターにまで戻って補完しているのです（ちなみに「The Dogs Of War」終了後のMCも約２秒AUDで補完されていますが、これは『Sigma 120』と同じです）。
極限の精度で磨き込まれた本作は、まさに至高のライヴアルバムに仕上がりました。前述のように１つひとつのポイントは微細なために違いに気づきづらいかも知れませんが、塵も積もれば山となる。全編で鉄壁なまま微塵も揺るがない音声美は「完全オフィシャル級」という言葉でさえ、空々しく感じられてしまう。と言いますか、実際にオフィシャルの完全版『光：PERFECT LIVE!』と並べて聴いても半歩も譲らない。本作には無加工な現場ミックスの生々しさがあるために判別はできますが、ちょっとでも気を許すと「今、聴いてるのは公式の方だっけ？」と迷ってしまうほどなのです。
公式の『光：PERFECT LIVE!』が長尺・完全版に進化したことで役目を終えたかのように思われたナッソー・サウンドボード。しかし、実際のオフィシャル品は曲数を増やしただけで「ショウの完全形」にはほど遠いものでした。本作は、そんな「通しの体験感」の素晴らしさで“A MOMENTARY LAPSE OF REASON Tour”をフル体験させてくれるサウンドボード・アルバム。その究極形です。頂点だからこそ、極みの品で持っていたい。その望みがカタチになったプレス４枚組。どうぞ、存分にお楽しみください。

In 1989, a Japanese record company directly made a DVD of the original VHS videotape created for the promotion of Pink Floyd’s live album and the video software “Delicate Sound of Thunder” of the same name. Probably many copies were made and it was released to the store, but it is completely unknown even among enthusiasts, not only as a shortened version of “Delicate Sound of Thunder”, but also for some reason two promo songs of “Final Cut” The uniquely edited content of the song, which is meaningfully inserted in the middle, should be interesting to collectors. “PINK FLOYD store performance video” and VHS tape with index sheets on the top and back of the video are made into discs as they are, and the recording time is 52 minutes. Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Part I) starts with a pink light like the official version, but I was surprised that it was an unusual short version of fading out before the appearance of the 4th scale in the 4th minute. I will. From the string synth part of SOYCD, the song is connected to the second song, Signs Of Life, without any sense of incongruity, and it is a clever edit that makes people who do not know Floyd think “this kind of song”.
Learning To Fly from Signs Of Life should be recorded in a medley like the beginning to the main story, but for some reason, the whole promotion of When The Tigers Broke Free from the “The Final Cut” period is suddenly inserted here. From the world of “depression”, Roger’s passionate vocals and the image film of the war period suddenly became an image film, and suddenly (and dramatically) Learning To Fly flowed, and the viewer was making it. At the same time as I am confused because I do not understand the intention of the person, I do not understand what the sudden development of the scene is.
After the full recording of Learning To Fly, the title track is promoted again from “The Final Cut”. Immediately after Gilmour’s performance at the big venue happily, the gloomy world of Roger’s lyrics unfolds with the screen is nothing but surreal. The sense and technology to naturally connect the black-and-white image of “The Final Cut” to the promo eyes of On The Turning Away is wonderful, and it seems that they are connected, but of course, both are “pink” in terms of music. Other than being in the name of Floyd, there are almost no points of contact, and because of the advanced editing technology, it becomes full of question marks.
Since it is a promotional sample video of the live video of 1989, it may have been the intention to mix the promo of the song of the album just before “Depression” to make a promotional video, but as a result it is very It has strange contents. (Did your boss tell you to feature the back catalog (the “final cut” out of stock) well at this time? And the creators really want to insert the “Not Now John” promo. You may have hesitated.) 1989年、日本のレコード会社が、ピンク・フロイドのライヴアルバム及び同名ビデオソフト「Delicate Sound of Thunder」のプロモーション用に作製したオリジナルVHSビデオテープをダイレクトにDVD化。恐らく多数複製されて、店頭に流れたにもかかわらず、マニア間でも全く知られていないものであり、「Delicate Sound of Thunder」短縮版という位置付けのみならず、何故か「Final Cut」のプロモ2曲を途中に意味ありげにインサートした、独自編集されたその内容は、コレクターにとっては興味深いものであるはずです。「PINK FLOYD 店頭演奏用ビデオ」とビデオ上面と背面にインデックスシートが貼られたVHSテープをそのままディスク化、収録時間は52分です。Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Part I)は公式盤同様にピンク色のライトからスタートしますが、4分目の、例の4音階が登場する前でフェイドアウトという異例のショートヴァージョンであることに驚かされます。SOYCDのストリングシンセパートから、曲はそのまま2曲目のSigns Of Lifeにそれ程違和感なく繋がっており、あまりフロイドを知らない人がみたら「こういう楽曲か」と思うような巧妙な編集です。
Signs Of LifeからLearning To Flyは序章～本編のようにメドレーで収録されるべきなのに、何故か、ここでいきなり「The Final Cut」期のWhen The Tigers Broke Freeのプロモが丸ごとインサートされています。「鬱」の世界からいきなりロジャーの情念のこもったボーカルと例の戦争期のイメージフィルムになり面食らってる所に、これまたいきなり（そして劇的に）Learning To Fly が流れ、観てる側は、製作者の意図が判らず混乱すると同時に、その場面展開の急激さに何が何だか分からなくなります。
フル収録されたLearning To Fly の後は、またしても「The Final Cut」よりタイトルトラックのプロモ。ハッピーに大会場で演奏するギルモアの演奏の直後に、陰鬱なロジャーの詞世界が画面といっしょに展開される様はシュール以外なにものでもありません。On The Turning Awayのプロモの目のアップに「The Final Cut」の白黒映像が流れる様を自然に繋げるセンスと技術はお見事で、まるで繋がってるみたいですが、勿論、両者は楽曲的には「ピンクフロイド名義」であること以外、接点は殆ど無く、なまじ編集技術が高度なだけに、見ていて疑問符だらけになってしまいます。
1989年のライヴ映像のプロモーション・サンプル・ビデオなので、「鬱」のひとつ前のアルバムの曲のプロモも混ぜて、販促用ビデオを製作しようという意図だったのかもしれませんが、結果的に非常に奇妙な内容のものになっています。（バック・カタログ（在庫余りの「ファイナル・カット」）も、この際、しっかりフィーチャーするように上司から言われたのか？そして、製作者も、さすがに「Not Now John」プロモをインサートするのは躊躇したのではないでしょうか。）しかし、流石にレコード会社が製作してるだけのことはあり、The Dogs Of War、Time、Comfortably Numb、One Of These Days とそれらの編集と繋ぎの技術は高度で、これはこれで、ジャパニーズ・オンリーのオリジナルな魅力を持った、大変興味深いソフトであると言えます。音楽・映画に限らず、海外に確認をとらずに、独自にいろいろな企画・宣伝が出来た、おおらかな時代の興味深いアイテムです。
マニア限定のアイテムではありますが、ファンにとってはとてつもなく面白い、コレクター必見・必携の一枚と断言できます。同会場で収録された、今回の、公式盤の元になったサウンドボード音源「NASSAU COLISEUM 1988」のアッパー版と合わせてどうぞお楽しみ下さい。
