Two major charisma of British prog rock, Peter Gabriel and Robert Fripp. Introducing a live album where you can experience a miracle tour where both males line up.
It is “April 10, 1977 West Hollywood performance (late show)” that is imbued with such a work. This is the best audience recording recorded by the legendary club “The Roxy” by the absolute master Mike Millard. First, let’s look back at the big picture of his first solo “CAR Tour 1977” and confirm the position of the show.

“February 25,” CAR “released”
・ March 5th-April 10th: North America (28 performances) ← ★ Coco ★
・ April 23-30: UK # 1 (7 performances)
・ September 2-November 1: Europe / UK # 2 (49 performances)
<< November production of “SCRATCH” started >>

This is Peter Gabriel in 1977. His first solo tour is broadly divided into “North America / UK # 1” in the spring and “Europe / UK # 2” in the fall, and the West Hollywood performance of this work is the former. It was also the final performance of the “North America” leg. Speaking of “The Roxy of 1977”, it is also famous that the big classic FM sound board was left, and this week there will be a similar title “THE ROXY 1977 1ST NIGHT (Amity 659)”. This work is a completely different performance (please refer to the explanation of “1ST NIGHT” for details of that area).
This work recorded at such a show is a neat and beautiful audience recording that seems to be a mirrored. Actually, “1ST NIGHT” released at the same time is a masterpiece that boasts a transcendent direct feeling even though it is not a mirrored work, but in terms of “beauty”, there is no match for mirrored recording. .. Although it is fully on, it wears a beauty that sounds a little different from “do close contact”, yet the feeling of a closed room because it is a club scale does not make you feel the distance. If you have noticed this article, you may have experienced the mirrored work “ROXY 1978 1ST NIGHT (Amity 640)” the following year, but this work is a live album of beauty that can be said to be a sister version of that masterpiece. ..
The beautiful sound is the first solo full show that is different from the GENESIS era. There are plenty of extremely rare songs that will not be played on later tours, so let’s organize them here.

● CAR
・ Here Comes The Flood (2 takes) / Moribund The Burgermeister / Waiting For The Big One / Excuse Me (★) / Solsbury Hill / Humdrum / Slowburn / Modern Love / Down The Dolce Vita (★)
● Others
・ SCRATCH: On The Air / A Song Without Words (Indigo)
・ Cover etc .: Ain’t That Peculiar (★) / All Day And All Of The Night / Back in N.Y.C. (★)
* Note: “★” mark is a limited song only for this tour.

…… And it looks like this. Of course, the core is the solo debut work, and you can listen to the rare live performances of “Excuse Me” and “Down The Dolce Vita” because all the songs are shown. In addition, there are songs that will reappear more than once. “Here Comes The Flood” will be fully performed not only at the opening but also in the middle stage, and “Modern Love” and “Solsbury Hill” will be replied in the encore. The arrangement is due to the fact that the repertoire is still small, but even more delicious is the extremely rare song rush. THE KINKS'”All Day And All Of The Night” was also performed on the next tour, but Marvin Gaye’s “Ain’t That Peculiar” and GENESIS’s “Back in NYC” are keynote numbers only in 1977. ..
Co-starring Peter Gabriel & Robert Fripp, which cannot be experienced on other tours. And precious masterpieces. This work is a new masterpiece that allows you to experience the scene in 1977 with a mirrored sound. Millard never recorded GENESIS during the Gabriel era, but he left behind this work from “Gabriel & Flip” and “BURBANK 1976 (Virtuoso 422/423)” from “GENESIS & Bill Bruford”. A new masterpiece that conveys the miracle stage where the heroes of progressive rock were present. Please enjoy it together.

★ The best audience recording of “April 10, 1977 THE ROXY Performance (Late Show)”. It is a separate performance from the standard FM broadcast and “1ST NIGHT (Amity 659)” at the same venue, and it is a brand item that was directly digitized from the Omoto master of the absolute master Mike Millard. With a beautiful recording unique to Millard, which has a club-scale closed room and beautiful sound, you can experience the best full show with a lot of valuable songs such as all the songs of your solo debut and GENESIS’s “Back in N.Y.C.”.

●CAR
・Here Comes The Flood(2テイク)/Moribund The Burgermeister/Waiting For The Big One/Excuse Me(★)/Solsbury Hill/Humdrum/Slowburn/Modern Love/Down The Dolce Vita(★)
●その他
・SCRATCH:On The Air/A Song Without Words (Indigo)
Ain’t That Peculiar(★)/All Day And All Of The Night/Back in N.Y.C.(★)

「Here Comes The Flood」はオープニングだけでなく中盤になって改めてフル演奏しますし、アンコールでは「Modern Love」「Solsbury Hill」がリプライズ。 THE KINKSの「All Day And All Of The Night」は次のツアーでも演奏されましたが、マーヴィン・ゲイの「Ain’t That Peculiar」やGENESISの「Back in N.Y.C.」
