While the Rolling Stones, The Who, and other people from the 1960s resumed their tours despite the Korona-ka, Paul McCartney finally resumed live activities before the age of 80, just as he made a real hit. Gave me.

世界中のファンが待ち望んだ新たなツアーは「GOT BACK」と名付けられて4月28日のスポーケンからスタート。今回はこの最新ツアーから5月6日のオークランド・アリーナでの公演をUXBRIDGEレーベルが最速リリース。
今回リリースされるオーディエンス録音の音質は素晴らしく、アリーナならではの程よい距離感が独特の聞き心地。ポールも80歳が目前というタイミングであり、久々のライブ活動の序盤ともなれば声のキレも気になるところ。今回の音源はいい意味でそうした不安定要素を感じさせない音像とも言えるかと。

とはいえポールは既に絶好調の域に達しつつあり、彼のライブ史上初めてバンド・アレンジで演奏されるようになった「You Never Give Me Your Money」から2005年以来となる「She Came In Through the Bathroom Window」へのメドレーもしっかり声が出ている。むしろ「New」の歌詞が危うくなるところくらいしか久々のツアーならではのブランク感が伝わって来ないほど。
ライブ全体の基本線は従来のパターンを踏襲しているですが、そこに先のような斬新なレパートリーを加えてくれているのが流石は久々のツアー。
「Getting Better」は2003年以来ですし、ここのところアンコールの常連レパートリーとなっていた「Get Back」がライブ本編の後半で演奏され、昨年配信されて大ヒットとなった同名の映画に関して触れるところが2022年らしい。また世界情勢を反映して「Back In The USSR」が演奏されなくなるという、別の意味での2022年らしさも垣間見られました。
代わりに今までライブ前半の位置で演奏されていた「I’ve Got A Feeling」がアンコール幕開けナンバーへと昇格しただけでなく、ジョンのパートになると会場のスクリーンにルーフトップの映像が映し出され、そこで歌う彼の声と姿に合わせてポールが演奏しながら歌うという斬新な演出（凄い盛り上がり）は大きな話題を呼んでいます。

そして前回のツアー後、コロナ禍によってライブ活動休止を余儀なくされてしまったポールが作った最新アルバム「McCARTNEY III」からは「Women And Wives」がセットイン。同アルバムの中ではどちらかというとキャッチーと言えない曲が選ばれたのはちょっとした驚きですが、十分にライブ映えするレパートリーとしてバンドに演奏されており、アルバムとはまた違った雰囲気が魅力となっています。
これからツアーが進むにつれて歌も演奏もどんどん良くなっていくでしょうから、本当に先が楽しみというもの。そんな話題の最新ツアーから「まずはコレ」的な一枚をUXBRIDGEレーベルがリリース。相変わらず最高にゴキゲンなステージを繰り広げてくれるポール最新の姿を良好オーディエンスにてじっくりお楽しみください。
