A compilation of all the images of Junsei’s live performances performed by Oasis on a television program in his native England from 1994 to 1995 in the highest quality. The studio live video of the famous song is condensed in one hour.
The start is “LATER … WITH JOOLS HOLLAND”, which is the only 1994 TV appearance video of this title. Three songs were shown here, but this time it is based on the Japanese broadcast version, and the “Sad Song” cut at that time is not recorded. However, the highlight of this video will be the precious “Whatever” of the rear tie live performance.
The timeless masterpieces that Japanese love so much are premised on live performances including strings except for the earliest performances, so they were temporarily sealed from the repertoire in the United States the following year when the orchestra could not accompany them. Because of that, even though it is a masterpiece, real-time live performances are extremely limited.
It is too attractive to be able to see such a valuable live version with perfect image quality. Liam’s vocals are fascinating, and the polite performance unique to Ria Thai makes it a truly fascinating scene. It is also very rare that the following “I Am The Walrus” was shown on TV as a version with strings following the previous song.

The next recording was the second “LATER … WITH JOOLS HOLLAND” that appeared again a year later. The schedule of the oasis at this time of the explosion of popularity was extremely busy, and two days before the program was recorded, it even went to a triumphant return performance in Manchester.
Under such circumstances, Liam’s throat made a noise at the time of recording, and here it was a full-length Noel vocal appearance without him. Thanks to this, the only Noel vocal version of “Cum On Feel The Noize”, which was originally extremely valuable for live take, was unveiled, and “Round Are Way” was also unveiled in the form of Noel vocal and band performance, and as a result, it is extremely valuable. It was a TV appearance full of various performances.
In addition, Noel, who responds to the interview with the moderator Jools Holland between the programs, makes me feel loved, and the fashion sense unique to that time is also very impressive. This video has been recorded from the version recently broadcast in Germany, and you can enjoy it with undisputedly clear image quality.

The latter half is recorded twice in 1995 in “THE WHITE ROOM”. The first recorded appearance was in April, just before Tony McCarroll left.
From here on, “Talk Tonight” with Paul Weller and Noel is well known, but the version currently seen on YouTube has unnatural movements and ambiguous image sharpness. All of them have problems such as being sloppy or rough on the contrary. The best version recorded here is to dismiss them.
And the last recorded was the appearance in December. It is impressive that Liam’s looks have become dignified in a little over half a year since his appearance in April. You can also enjoy “Round Are Way”, which he couldn’t sing at “LATER” in November, with real vocals.
The recording at this time was broadcast in two parts, but since the first time was New Year’s Eve and it was a countdown, Noel was singing “Don’t Look Back In Anger” and “Wonderwall” during the New Year. It is interesting to welcome. Is it an exaggeration to say that the moment when 1996, when the glory of Knebworth awaits, is captured for the oasis?
As you can see, all of them are standard live images from the 90’s of Oasis, but the concept of this title is to put them all together in the highest image quality. 1994年から95年にかけてオアシスが母国イギリスのテレビ番組にて純生のライブ演奏を披露した映像をすべてベスト・クオリティでまとめたコンピレーション。一時間の中に名曲のスタジオ・ライブ映像が凝縮されています。
スタートは本タイトル唯一の1994年テレビ出演映像である「LATER… WITH JOOLS HOLLAND」。ここでは都合三曲が披露されましたが、今回はジャパニーズ・ブロードキャスト・バージョンを元にしており、その際にカットされた「Sad Song」が未収録。しかし本映像の目玉は何と言っても貴重なリアタイ・ライブ演奏の「Whatever」に尽きるでしょう。
日本人がこよなく愛する不朽の名作は最初期の演奏を除いてストリングス込みのライブ演奏が前提とされたため、楽団が帯同できなかった翌年のアメリカなどではレパートリーから一旦封印されています。そのせいで名曲でありながら、リアルタイムのライブ演奏と言うのが極めて限られてしまう。
そんな貴重なライブバージョンを完璧な画質で見られるというのはあまりにも魅力的。リアムのボーカルにはうっとりさせられるほどであり、そこにリアタイならではの丁寧な演奏ぶりと相まって、本当に魅力のあふれた場面となっています。続く「I Am The Walrus」が前曲に次いでストリングス入りバージョンとしてテレビで披露されたのも非常にレア。

次に収録されたのは一年後に再び出演した二回目の「LATER… WITH JOOLS HOLLAND」。人気が爆発したこの時期のオアシスのスケジュールは多忙を極めており、番組収録の二日前にはマンチェスターでの凱旋公演まで行っていた。
そうした中で収録時にはリアムの喉が音を上げてしまい、ここでは彼抜きによる全編ノエルボーカルでの出演となったもの。おかげで元々ライブテイクの極めて貴重な「Cum On Feel The Noize」唯一のノエルボーカル・バージョンが披露され、さらに「Round Are Way」もまたノエルボーカルかつバンド演奏という形態での披露となり、結果として極めて貴重な演奏満載のテレビ出演となったのです。
また番組の合間に司会者ジュールズ・ホランドのインタビューに応えるノエルは愛くるしさすら感じさせ、この当時ならではのファッションセンスなども非常に印象的。この映像に関しては最近ドイツで放送されたバージョンから収録しており、文句のつけようがないほどクリアーな画質で楽しめます。

後半に収録されているのは「THE WHITE ROOM」における1995年二回の出演分。まず最初に収録されているのはトニー・マッキャロル脱退直前だった4月の出演。
ここからははポール・ウェラーが加わってノエルと一緒に演奏した「Talk Tonight」が良く知られていますが、現在YouTube上で見られるバージョンは動きが不自然だったり映像のシャープネスがあいまいになってしまったり、あるいは反対にざらついていたりと問題のあるものばかり。ここに収録されたのはそれらを一蹴するベスト・バージョン。
そして最後に収録されたのは12月の出演分。4月の出演から半年ちょっとでリアムのルックスが凛々しくなっているのが印象的。また11月の「LATER」では彼が歌えなかった「Round Are Way」もここではしっかりリアムボーカルにて楽しめます。
この時の収録は二回に分けて放送されたのですが、初回が大晦日でカウントダウン時だったことからノエルが「Don’t Look Back In Anger」と「Wonderwall」を歌っている最中に新年を迎えるというのが面白い。オアシスにとってネブワースと言う栄光が待ち受ける1996年が始まった瞬間が捉えられている…というのは大げさでしょうか。
このように、どれもオアシス90年代の定番ライブ映像ばかりではありますが、それらをすべて最高画質にてまとめ上げたのが本タイトルのコンセプト。それでいて「Whatever」に「Wonderwall」そして「Don’t Look Back In Anger」など名曲ばかりという初心者も満足間違いなしの内容。この映像集にて素晴らしい年末年始をお過ごしください！
