Miles’ performances in Japan in 1973 and 1975 may be a little unimpressive to Japanese fans, but from this tour the concert at Carnegie Hall on March 30th will be Teo. -Edited by Macero and released as the album “Dark Magus”. “Dark Magus” is a morbidly devilish masterpiece with some shadow. This time we will release a concert at Shabu Inn, which is the first day of this tour. At the stage of this first day, it is the same organization as the members who came to Japan in 1973, but on March 30th, which was used for “Dark Magus”, Azar Lawrence and Dominique Gamo participated, and also in the subsequent Brazilian performances etc. This new organization is still being tested. However, as you know, in the 1975 performances “Agarta” and “Pangaea”, it was returned to the initial organization in 1973. Therefore, this item is also valuable as “at the time of” Dark Magus “listening to the same basic composition as in 1973 and 1975.” Compared to 1973, when you feel a little “yang”, the performance of “yin” in 1974 is as devilish as “Dark Magus”. Overwhelms the listener. It is understandable that Miles, who has advanced to 1975 with this morbid spirit, disappears from the front stage once. 今回は1974年のツアーから初日の音源登場です。かつてリリースもある本音源ですが、最新のマスターを利用し、部分部分にそれぞれ細かいリマスタリングを施してあります。ソフィスティケイトされた“美しさ”ではなく、極限まで楽曲の持つ“迫力”を追求した圧巻の音質に仕上がっています。1973年と1975年にマイルスは来日公演を行っているため、日本のファンにはやや印象の薄い年となるかもしれませんが、このツアーから3月30日カーネギー・ホールでのコンサートはテオ・マセロにより編集され、アルバム『ダーク・メイガス』としてリリースされています。『ダーク・メイガス』はどこか陰のある、病的に鬼気迫る名作です。今回リリースするのはこのツアーの初日にあたるシャブー・インでのコンサート。この初日の段階では73年来日時のメンバーと同じ編成ですが、『ダーク・メイガス』に使われた3月30日ではエイゾー・ローレンスとドミニク・ガモーが参加しており、更にその後のブラジル公演などでも引き続きこの新編成が試されています。しかしご周知の通り1975年の来日公演『アガルタ』『パンゲア』では、また73年の初期編成に戻されています。従って本アイテムは“73年75年と同じ基本編成で聴く『ダーク・メイガス』時”としても価値があるわけです。やや“陽”を感じる73年と比べ“陰”の74年の演奏は『ダーク・メイガス』同様に鬼気迫るものがありますが、メンバーが新編成前の定番である分一丸となった猪突猛進ぶりが窺え、聴く者を圧倒します。この病的なまでの気迫で75年まで突き進んだマイルスが、一旦表舞台から姿を消すのも納得と言うもの。『アガルタ』『パンゲア』と比べても異彩を放つ『ダーク・メイガス』の、始まりとなるシャブー・イン公演を、生まれ変わった素晴らしい音質で体感してください。
