Liam Gallagher’s festival appearance, where TRNSMT and a wonderful singing performance are broadcast in Reading. Following the lifting of the ban on events in the UK, the Isle of Wight Festival will also be held this year. レディングにTRNSMTと素晴らしい熱唱ぶりが放送されているリアム・ギャラガーのフェス出演。イギリスのイベント解禁の流れを受けて今年はあのワイト島フェスも開催の運びになりました。ここでもリアムは素晴らしいステージを披露し、なおかつ放送も実現したのですが、最後にミソが付いてしまいます。本人がツイートで報告してみせたように、ヘリから落ちて鼻を中心とした顔面に怪我を負ってしまったという。
幸いにも本人が自撮りしてツイートできるレベルの負傷でしたので、恐らくはヘリから降りる時に転んでしまったのだと推測されますが、そのせいで次に予定されていたベルファストでのステージは何と来年に延期。8月から充実のステージを連発していたリアムのライブ活動は現在のところ一時休止となってしまったのです。

皮肉なことにワイト島フェスが最新のリアムのステージを記録した映像としての価値が上がってしまった訳ですが、それまでに放送されてきた過去二つの放送に負けじと今回も掛け値なしにリアムの歌やバンドの演奏は絶品。
ミュージシャンであればステージを重ねるごとに歌や演奏が良くなってゆくのは当然のことで、一見して解るくらいリアムのボルテージが上がっている。ライブ放送第一弾であったレディングですらあれほどのハイレベル・パフォーマンスを披露していただけに、ここワイトでの彼ときたら、もはや盤石の域。
特に「The River」は（TRNSMTでは放送からカットされてしまいましたので）レディング以上にリアムの絶好調ぶりが際立っていて、もし怪我しなけばベルファストでさらに素晴らしい歌が聞かれたのでは？と推測したくなるほど。ここではもちろん息子のジーンがセカンド・ドラムを叩いているのですが、今回の放送はダブル・ドラムを押し出したミックスも魅力かと。

イベント解禁の恩恵を受けて夏フェスを満喫できたイギリスのオーディエンスですが、彼らのレディングからTRNSMT、そして今回と映し出される度にフェスの楽しみ方を取り戻しているようで、遂にはマスクなしどころか上半身裸で楽しむ男子の姿まで捉えられています。ちょっと日本では考えらえない光景が眩しくもある。
そしてリアムも再び大観衆を前にした喜びからから本当に楽しそうに歌っており、「Roll With It」の前では子供のリアムファンに向かってマラカスを投げてプレゼントするという微笑ましさ。おまけにそれを当人がキャッチできなくとも、周りの大人たちが拾ってあげて渡すと会場が大歓声に包まれるという感動的な場面へと。

そして本映像が他の二公演の放送と違う大きな魅力を持っているのです。それはライブの途中でリアムがサングラスを外して歌い続けたということ。この日はそれがうっとうしく感じたのでしょうか、まず「Wall Of Glass」で一度外しかけますが、結局「Why Me, Why Not」で外した後はしばらくそのままで歌い続けてくれます。
現在のリアムが久々の長髪ルックなだけに、サングラスを外した姿はまるで2000年のオアシスでのステージでの彼かと錯覚しそうになる凛々しさ。例の怪我したツイートでも痛々しい姿をさらけ出しつつも、やっぱりリアムって男前だよな…と感じた方は少なくないはず。
