1979年ＢＡＣＫＬＥＳＳツアーの一環として行なわれた日本公演は、茨木を皮切りに全10公演が行なわれました。その中でも12月3日と4日の武道館公演は、後に「JUST ONE NIGHT」としてリリースされたほど、演奏の充実度では他の年代の日本公演とは一線を画し、本人も非常に満足した出来だったということでしょう。 

この年の日本公演は前述の通り茨木から始まり、初日とあってか大勢のマスコミが取材に訪れ、また写真も多数残されていますが、こと武道館連続公演に関しては、ツアー終盤ということもあり、ライブ・アルバムがリリースされておきながら、当日の写真も残されておらず、音源に関しては3日がオーディエンス録音であるものの、4日に関しては不完全な音源があるのみで、いまだにその全貌は知られていません。 

本作は、二日間のベストテイクで構成された「JUST ONE NIGHT」に使われた武道館連続公演、その初日12月3日を2種類の音源で完全収録したタイトルになります。ディスク1と２はテープ・ソースより収録。そしてディスク3と4はアナログ盤復刻となります。どちらの音源もそれぞれに特長があり、いずれも捨てがたい音源のため、本作では併録することで、どちらがベターかの判断は聴く方に委ねたいと思います。ただ、いずれも劣らぬ高音質には違いなく、1979年の他の公演や、同年代の他のアーティストの音源に比べても群を抜いて素晴らしい音質で収録されており、伝説の武道館連続公演の初日が、このような高音質で収録されていることに驚かされます。 

1979年来日公演より、12月3日武道館公演を2種類の音源にて高音質完全収録。美しいピクチャー・ディスク仕様の永久保存がっちりプレス盤。日本語帯付。
