The master series of our store that continues to shock the whole world. The latest bullet is a press CD release of a sound board album that can be said to be “100% ALIVE!”
“Performance in Tulsa on June 13, 1975” is engraved on this work. It is the stereo sound board recording. 1975 is a time when three tours overlap, but the Tulsa performance of this work is one act of the “DRESSED TO KILL Tour” that produced the historical masterpiece “ALIVE!”. Together with the recording date of “ALIVE!” itself, let’s check the position against the tour schedule at the time.

This is KISS in 1975. “ALIVE!” Was edited from 4 performances, but the Tulsa performance of this work is in between. In other words, it is the most delicious pattern that the band potential is the same without duplicating one take with “ALIVE!”.
The soundboard of this day has been known for a long time, but this work is a leaked master that (significantly) updates its highest peak. Cheers after the performance of “She” have been recorded for a long time in various places, but it is only evidence of the former master. More important than that is the sound itself that penetrates the whole story. Conventional masters were all digitally compressed in the process of distribution, but this work is a branded product that has been digitized directly from the original cassette master.
“The master sound is truly shocking.” The beginning of “Deuce” is missing, and the aging of the original tape can be felt for about a minute, but it is stable after that. A real and beautiful sound that is completely different from the already released group that was distorted due to digital deterioration and squirting flows out. The unprocessed feeling directly connected to the mix desk is rougher than “ALIVE!”, but it can’t be bad either. Rather, unlike “ALIVE!”, which did not hesitate to edit and modify, the 100% real live performance is poured into the brain. You can experience the highest level of “pleasure that the live performance and the whole body are completely synchronized” that the dry soundboard mania loves and does not stop.

… and it looks like this. On this day, with RARE EARTH as the headline, POINT BLANK and 3 unions performed together, so it was a concentrated set that looked like it had been shaped up from “ALIVE!”. While the rarity of the song is not required, the performance that seems to run at full speed in that short time is too intense. The youth of an average of 25.3 years old, the ambition that wants to succeed and the ambition that does not accumulate is engraved in the brain with a direct sound board.
If you’re simply looking for a beautiful piece of music, an official live album is fine, but if you’re looking for a concert experience, it’s no match for an audience recording. これが1975年のKISS。『ALIVE!』は４公演から編集されていたわけですが、本作のタルサ公演はその合間。つまり『ALIVE!』と１テイクもダブることなく、バンド・ポテンシャルは同等という一番美味しいパターンなのです。
この日のサウンドボードは以前から知られてもいたのですが、本作はその最高峰を（大幅に）更新する関係者流出マスターです。「She」終演後の歓声など各所で長く収録されていますが、それはあくまで元マスターの証拠にすぎない。それより重大なのは全編を貫くサウンドそのもの。従来マスターは流通の過程でデジタル圧縮を経た物ばかりでしたが、本作は大元カセット・マスターからダイレクトにデジタル化された銘品の銘品なのです。
そのマスター・サウンドは、まさに衝撃モノ。「Deuce」冒頭が欠けていたり、１分ほど大元テープの経年劣化が感じられるのは従来と変わりませんが、その後はビシッと安定。シュワシュワとデジタル劣化で歪みまくっていた既発群とはまるで違うリアル＆美麗サウンドが流れ出てくるのです。いかにもミックス卓直結な無加工感は『ALIVE!』よりラフだったりしますが、それも悪かろうはずもない。むしろ、編集も修正も厭わなかった『ALIVE!』とは違う100％リアルの生演奏が脳みそに流し込まれる快感が絶大。擦れっ枯らしのサウンドボード・マニアが愛して止まない「生演奏と全身が完全シンクロする快感」を最上級体験できるのです。
そんなド直結マスター・サウンドで画かれるのは、「本生100％ALIVE」であると同時に「濃縮ALIVE」。その意味をご説明するためにも、ここで本作のセットを整理しておきましょう。
