JOURNEY has also been well received for the latest tour “FREEDOM Tour 2022” that follows TOTO. The latest report, the finest video, will be released at the same time!
This work is the second of such two series. It is a 2-disc set that sets 2 types of superb view audience shots of “April 1, 2022 Sacramento performance”. They are still on tour, but the outline is left to the explanation of “PITTSBURGH 2022: THE VIDEO (Uxbridge 1627)” which will be released at the same time, and here we will take a closer look at the positional relationship of various titles of our shop. This is the 2022 schedule that has been announced so far. Two live albums have already been released in breaking news, but two video editions have appeared this week. While “PITTSBURGH 2022: THE VIDEO” was the first day of Lee’s first day, this work was the 21st performance at the turning point where the tour went on.
This work is an audience shot where you can fully experience such a show from the special seats. However, it is not an edited work that mixes two kinds of images, but a two-disc set with each complete version arranged on one disc. Let’s introduce them individually.
The second point is the height of the line of sight. With almost the same line of sight as the members on the stage, the feeling of following the front row on the first floor is completely different from just the audience seats. Not only does it play a role in the unobstructed field of view, but the experience of making eye contact between members is far from the audience.
And the third is the finest sound. If you listen to it with headphones, you can tell that it is an audience sound that sucks in the hall sound, but its core is powerful and there is almost no sense of distance. The direct feeling that is perfect for “the view that only the stage can be seen” is exquisite. That’s why it was even considered to make a live album with only audio. [DISC 2: Circle shot with a panoramic view of the latest production] DISC 2 that appears in its place is a superb view shot of a strange level while having a different personality. I’m looking down from the 2nd floor seats (3rd floor seats?) To the left of the stage, but this is already a spectacular view. I don’t know if it’s in the front row or the angle of the seats is steep, but after all, only the stage occupies the field of view without any obstacles such as shadows in the front row.
Moreover, it doesn’t approach with a bold zoom from there. Although not completely fixed, the photographer apparently abandoned camerawork. Once you have set an angle that you are convinced that “this perspective is the best”, you will not move from there. And that angle is really good. Great! It may be difficult to understand if it is the capture posted on the left, but while looking at the entire stage, the rear screen is also captured large. As a result, you can enjoy the production of colorfully turbulent light, and even enjoy the finest multi-camera pro shots. The progress of cameras these days is astounding, and I just want to try the performance limits of the tremendous zoom function. This photographer probably suppresses such humanity. Completely suppress the stage production that is often overlooked by zooming, and do not miss everything. You can enjoy the “umami of the whole view” without leaking it to the maximum.

…… And it looks like this. All the numbers after the 90’s have been omitted, and it has been transformed into a richer Greatest Hits. In particular, the masterpiece “ESCAPE” is a gorgeous full show wrapped in glory with a large-scale behavior of 7 out of 10 songs.
“Arena Shot (DISC 1)” where you can experience a full show at the same height as the members, and “Circle Shot (DISC 2)” where you can completely experience the video production that is often overlooked. It is a super-decision board where you can enjoy the latest Greatest Hits Show from two special seats. Since there are no new songs on this day, it will not be “OK with this one !!”, but it must be one of “First of all”. A 2-disc set that impresses not only enthusiasts who always check, but also those who are “Are you still doing JOURNEY?” Please enjoy it to your heart’s content!
★ A superb view audience shot of “April 1, 2022 Sacramento performance”. Same day as TOTO’s “Uxbridge 1629” / In the same photographer’s collection, “Arena Shot (DISC 1)” with a sense of closeness and “Circle Shot” (a circle shot) that completely shot the light show and the huge screen while looking down from the second floor seats. It is a 2-disc set with “DISC 2)” set. Both are superb views of the shield pear, and it is a decisive board where you can fully experience the Greatest Hits centered on the 7th song of “ESCAPE” from the special seat.

これが現在までに公表されている2022年のスケジュール。すでにライヴアルバム２本が速報リリースされているわけですが、今週は映像編が２本登場。『PITTSBURGH 2022: THE VIDEO』はイの一番となる初日だったのに対し、本作はグッとツアーの進んだ折り返し地点21公演目のコンサートでした。
本作は、そんなショウを特等席からフル体験できるオーディエンス・ショット。ただし、２種映像を混ぜた編集作ではなく、それぞれの完全版をディスク１枚ずつに配した２枚組です。それでは、個別にご紹介していきましょう。
【DISC 1：メンバーが間近に迫るアリーナ・ショット】
まず登場するのは「まるでプロショット！」と話題の絶景映像。実際にはステージ左側から斜めに捉えられたワンカメ・オーディエンスなのですが、そう言いたくなるのも納得。プロショット感を醸しているポイントは３つありまして、１つは遮蔽物が一切入ってこない視界。前方客はおろか、アリーナ最前の観客ですら画面端にホンのちょっとだけ映るだけ。ほぼほぼステージだけが視野を占領しているのです。
２つめのポイントは目線の高さ。ステージ上のメンバーとほぼ同じ視線でして、１階最前列を眼下に従えた感覚はただの客席とまるで違う。遮蔽物のない視野にも一役買っているだけでなく、メンバー同士のアイコンタクトとも目が合ってしまう体験感がオーディエンス離れしているのです。
そして３つ目は極上のサウンド。ヘッドフォンで聴けばホール鳴りも吸い込んだオーディエンス・サウンドだと分かるのですが、その芯は力強く距離感もほとんどない。「ステージしか見えない視界」にもピッタリなダイレクト感が絶品。それこそ、音声だけでライヴアルバム化も検討されたほどなのです。
【DISC 2：最新演出が一望できるサークル・ショット】
代わって登場するDISC 2は、まるで個性が異なりつつ、やはり異様なレベルの絶景ショット。ステージやや左寄りの２階席（３階席？）から見下ろしているのですが、これがもう強烈なほどの絶景。最前列なのか、座席の角度が急なのかは分かりませんが、やはり前列の影など遮蔽物一切ナシでステージだけが視界を占領するのです。
しかも、そこから果敢なズームで迫……らない。完全に固定なわけではないのですが、この撮影者は明らかにカメラワークを放棄。「この視点が一番良い」と確信した角度を定めたら、そこから動かそうとしないのです。そして、その角度が本当に良い。素晴らしい！ 左に掲載したキャプチャーだと分かりづらいかも知れませんが、ステージをすっぽり丸ごと一望しつつ、後方スクリーンも大きく捉えている。これにより、色とりどりに乱れ飛ぶ光の演出が丸ごと楽しめ、さらに極上のマルチカメラ・プロショットまで味わえる。昨今のカメラの進歩は驚異的で、ついつい凄まじいズーム機能の性能限界を試したくなる。この撮影者は、そんな人情をグッと抑えているのでしょう。ズームで見逃しがちなステージ演出を完全に押さえきり、すべてを見逃さない。そんな「全景の旨味」を最大漏らさず味わわせてくれるのです。
それでは、最後に２つの絶景で楽しめるショウ内容も整理しておきましょう。今回のツアーは日によってセットが変わりますので、ここでは同時リリースの初日映像『PITTSBURGH 2022: THE VIDEO』と比較してあります。

メンバーと同じ目線の高さでフルショウをリアル体験できる「アリーナ・ショット（DISC 1）」と、見逃されがちな映像演出まで完全体験できる「サークル・ショット（DISC 2）」。２つの特等席から最新グレイテストヒッツ・ショウを満喫できる超・決定盤です。この日は新曲の類がないために「本作１本でOK!!」とはなりませんが、「まずはコレ」の一作には違いありません。常にチェックを怠らないマニア諸兄はもちろん、「JOURNEYってまだやってるの？」な方にも大感動をくれる２枚組。どうぞ、たっぷりと味わい尽くしてください！
