The era of “EMOTION & COMMOTION” is rapidly gaining reevaluation. A sound board album that is a perfect match with the official work is now available.
“July 13, 2010 Lucca performance” is recorded in this work. This is an FM soundboard recording when I performed at the Italian summer festival “Lucca Summer Festival”. Speaking of 2010, it is remembered as the year of the studio work “EMOTION & COMMOTION” for the first time in seven years, but in fact, the live performance after that is the true value. Indeed, a large-scale tour since the 1960s was implemented, and it was also a year of complete revival. The live performance was also left in the official works “LIVE AND EXCLUSIVE FROM THE GRAMMY MUSEUM” and “ROCK & ROLL PARTY: HONORING LES PAUL”, but of course this work is a separate performance. In order to grasp the situation around here, let’s unravel from the activity summary at that time.

This is Jeff Beck in 2010. Actually, his resurrection drama started in 2009, and the world tour continues until 2011. Over the past three years, he has performed more than 200 performances, including two visits to Japan, and it was the first live show since the first JEFF BECK GROUP. The two official works “LIVE AND EXCLUSIVE” and “ROCK & ROLL PARTY” were produced during the US tour, but this work is the European edition immediately after that. It was a concert that was the 5th performance of “Europe # 1”. “Lucca Summer Festival” is a huge festival where various bands/artists perform throughout July. This day was ZZ TOP and Jeff’s coupling day, and it was also broadcast from a local radio station, probably because it was so popular. This work has been made into a CD from the FM air check master.
The sound of this work is an FM soundboard with a thick core and sharp edges. The sound is a little rough compared to the above official works, but it’s not bad. It is intensely vivid because it has not been polished, and even a little sound matching between songs is super clear. The vibrations of the strings and skin are transmitted, and even the slight sizzling noise generated from the amplifier is sharply drawn. Since the loud cheers are also mixed, it is different from the direct connection system of the mixing table, but the performance sound itself is clearly unprocessed and you can fully enjoy the fierce immersion feeling that there is a band in the brain.
A full show different from the official work is depicted with such a high-class direct sound. “ROCK’N’ROLL PARTY” was a different event live, so let’s organize the set while comparing it with “LIVE AND EXCLUSIVE”.

… and it looks like this. With a local Italian DJ in between, 11 short sets for the festival will be performed. The official live album “LIVE AND EXCLUSIVE” also had 8 songs and was more concentrated than the full set at that time, but the selection is significantly different from this work. Only four songs are dubbed, and it is also a live that complements each other with this work and “LIVE AND EXCLUSIVE”.
And what makes such a set even richer is the performance itself. From the time of the broadcast, it was talked about as “It’s more amazing than the Japan performance in April!” Speaking of Jeff’s tour, the market price is about 20-30 performances a year, but this show has performed more than 30 performances even after leaving Japan. The skill is not dated, but the experience value cultivated in a huge number of places, the spirit of challenging the tour as it is dwells in the enthusiasm of the performance.
The “EMOTION & COMMOTION” era was a time when live performances were really fulfilling, even with a diverse career. It is a sound board album that pours the intense live performance directly into the brain. A back name board of the European version that complements each other with a completely different set from the official “LIVE AND EXCLUSIVE”. Please enjoy it to the fullest.
