This year, there have been a series of excavations of extremely valuable Jackson Browne soundboards from the 1990s, such as “BERGEN 1997 SOUNDBOARD”, “BRESCIA 1997 SOUNDBOARD”, and “LENOX 1990 SOUNDBOARD”, but this time, shocking professional shot footage has been unearthed. it was done.
To my surprise, it was a live video from 1992. This year, Jackson has hardly performed live since he started working on a new album. The only exception in that year was an event called “ALL OUR COLORS, THE GOOD ROAD CONCERT,” which was held as a charity concert about racial issues.
There was a big reason why Jackson, who had been holed up in the studio, decided to appear only at this event. It was the last event that Bill Graham had planned before his death, after his tragic death the previous year.
To that end, Jackson hurriedly formed a band by gathering members who were recording in the studio at the time and musicians he had known for some time.
It was a day when audience recording was loved by enthusiasts as one of the few live shows in 1992, but in recent years, sound board recordings have been leaked. It has now been revealed that the source of this was the audio of this professional shot video.

This is based on a video that was shot to be shown on a screen at an event venue, and the image quality is top-notch. There are many surprising scenes that could not be conveyed from the sound source. From the drummer’s perspective, Chad Cromwell’s appearance is fresh in the memory of his participation in the tour with “LOS ANGELES 1989 MIKE MILLARD FIRST GENERATION TAPES”.
In addition, his ally David Lindley appears only in the opening song “Before The Deluge”, but he himself joined Ry Cooder for one song due to the convenience of appearing at this event.
Furthermore, Bonnie Raitt, who was appearing at the same event, also appeared with two songs that she actually participated in recording. There are plenty of highlights that can only be found in professional shots, such as the image of her singing “Here Comes Those Tears Again” with passion.

However, the most valuable aspect of this video is that it shows three new songs from the album, which was in the middle of recording at the time. First of all, the album’s title song, “I’m Alive,” is in an unfinished state. Cromwell’s arrangement on the Bo Diddley beat gives a much different impression than later versions.
Beyond that, “Miles Away” can almost be called a different song, and here it is played in a blues-like arrangement, and there is also an interesting scene in the video where Jackson himself plays the bottleneck part of the interlude. Unique.
“All Good Things”, which concluded the later album “I’M ALIVE”, is performed in its most complete state, and Scott Thurston, who was active as Jackson’s right-hand man throughout the 1990s, performed these new songs. Its presence is also captured in the video.
An extremely valuable unearthed professional shot that captures the stage where Jackson appeared in public for the first time in “I’M ALIVE” mode in the highest image quality. There is no doubt that enthusiasts around the world will be surprised again this time!

今年は『BERGEN 1997 SOUNDBOARD』に『BRESCIA 1997 SOUNDBOARD』そして『LENOX 1990 SOUNDBOARD』といった具合にジャクソン・ブラウン1990年代の超貴重なサウンドボードの発掘が相次ぎましたが、今度は衝撃のプロショット映像が発掘されました。
しかも驚いたことに、それは1992年のライブ映像。この年のジャクソンはニューアルバムの制作を開始したことからライブ活動をほとんど行っていない。そんな年で唯一の例外となったのは人種問題についてのチャリティ・コンサートとして行われた『ALL OUR COLORS, THE GOOD ROAD CONCERT』というイベント。
スタジオにこもっていたジャクソンがこのイベントに限って出演を決めたのには大きな理由があったのです。それは前年に非業の死を遂げたビル・グレアムが生前に計画していた最後のイベントであったという事実。
その為にジャクソンは当時スタジオでレコーディングしていたメンバーと以前から付き合いのあったミュージシャンを集めて急遽バンドを結成。
以前からマニアには92年の数少ないライブとしてオーディエンス録音が愛されていた日ではありましたが、近年になってサウンドボード録音が流出。その大元がこのプロショット映像の音声であったことが今回判明したのでした。

これはイベント会場のスクリーンで流す為に撮影された映像が元になっているのですが、その画質は最高。音源からは伝わらなかった驚きの場面が続出。ドラマーからして『LOS ANGELES 1989 MIKE MILLARD FIRST GENERATION TAPES』でツアーへの参加の事実が判明した記憶も新しいチャド・クロムウェルの姿が。
またオープニングの「Before The Deluge」だけ盟友デヴィッド・リンドレーが登場しますが、彼自身もライ・クーダーと本イベントへの出演する都合から一曲だけ飛び入りという形で加わったのでした。
さらに同じイベントに出演していたボニー・レイットも自身が実際にレコーディングに参加していた二曲で登場。中でも「Here Comes Those Tears Again」で熱唱する彼女の姿が映し出されるなどプロショットならではの見どころが満載。

しかし何と言っても本映像の貴重な点は当時レコーディングの真っ最中だったアルバムからの新曲が三曲も披露されたこと。まずアルバムのタイトル曲となる「I’m Alive」からして未完成な状態。クロムウェルによるボー・ディドリー・ビートに乗ったアレンジが後のバージョンとはだいぶ違う印象。
それ以上に「Miles Away」はまるで別の曲といっていいほどで、ここではブルース風なアレンジで演奏されており、間奏のボトルネックをジャクソン自身が弾くというこれまた面白い場面が見られるのも映像ならでは。
そして後のアルバム『I’M ALIVE』の最後を締めくくった「All Good Things」が一番完成した状態で披露されており、これら新曲の演奏では1990年代を通してジャクソンの片腕として大活躍したスコット・サーストンの存在感も映像に捉えられています。
そんな『I’M ALIVE』モードのジャクソンが初めて公に姿を現したステージを最高画質で捉えた超貴重な発掘プロショット。今回もまた世界中のマニアが驚かされること間違いなし！
