As I mentioned in “GOTANDA U-PORT HALL 1995” released this time, 1995 was a tour that used only the smallest venues in the history of CSN’s visit to Japan, but it was successful. It is undeniable that the fact that a literal club gig was realized at Shibuya Quattro and Kawasaki Club Citta has been forgotten now.
The tour schedule for the 1995 Japan tour currently posted on the setlist site has been posted with a big mistake, but Club Citta announced that the gig at Quattro was realized as an additional performance. It was announced as a further highlight after it was done.
On the set list site, it says December 10th at Quattro in Osaka, but this is a big mistake. December 10th was the gig at Quattro in Shibuya, and the Osaka performance was only at Sankei Hall the next day. . A club gig in Osaka has not materialized.

The 1995 CSN club gig is currently causing a bit of confusion, but fortunately the same taper as “GOTANDA U-PORT HALL 1995” captured it with great sound quality. The recording at Yu-Port was also of such outstanding quality, but this time it is literally a gig in “Hako”, so the sound quality is also wonderful.
When you press the play button, you can hear the box-like realism and close sound image. Now it can be said that the fact that CSN performed a gig in a space like Quattro is already a legend.

Besides, the gigs on this day weren’t bad either… On the contrary, if it’s a club gig, they can concentrate on their detailed harmony work more than usual, and the three of them are in high spirits, far from being in a good mood.
Among them, Stills is so talkative that he seems to be a different person compared to when he was on Yu-Port. Rather, it’s unique to the finest audience that the way he genuinely enjoys the club after a long absence is conveyed so vividly, or so realistically that he laughs when he hears it.
His appearance as a different person is clearly reflected in his guitar playing, and not only “Deja Vu”, but also “Wooden Ships” at the end of the live seems to breathe fire. The sharp cutting unique to Crosby that supports it can be heard realistically, and this is also the quality of the press CD level.
Nash also had a one-off gig here in 1990 when he held a solo exhibition of his own photography, and of course he mentions that.

And the big attraction of the 1995 performance in Japan was that there were several daily numbers. What pleased maniacs as a maniac repertoire unique to the day performance.
Furthermore, Crosby’s solo corner with Yu-Port was a bitter (and attractive) selection of songs called “Delta”, but on this day the killer “Almost Cut My Hair” was a maniac who was present on the day It made me go crazy.
A gig with a happy atmosphere that pairs well with the leisurely Yu-Port show. The cover of the Beatles “In My Life”, which is one of the few repertoire played from the latest album “AFTER THE STORM” at that time, is also shining.
A superb audience played back the blissful night of a gig that CSN realized in Japan, demonstrating its harmony. Above all, Crosby is really fun again, and now it’s the ultimate document that is too precious!

今回リリースされる「GOTANDA U-PORT HALL 1995」で申し上げましたように、1995年はCSNの来日公演史上もっとも小規模な会場ばかりを使って行われたツアーだったのですが、それが功を奏して渋谷クアトロと川崎クラブチッタで文字通りのクラブギグが実現したことも今となっては忘れ去られてしまった感が否めません。
現在セットリストサイトに掲載されている1995年の来日公演はツアー日程が大きく間違えられたまま掲載されてしまっているのですが、クアトロでのギグが実現したのは追加公演としてクラブチッタが発表された後に更なる目玉として発表されたもの。
セットリストサイトでは12月10日に大阪のクアトロとの記載がありますが、これは大間違いで12月10日こそ渋谷のクアトロでのギグであり、大阪公演は翌日のサンケイホールのみだったのです。大阪でのクラブギグは実現していません。

ちょっとした混乱を現在招いている95年のCSNクラブギグですが、幸いにも「GOTANDA U-PORT HALL 1995」と同じテーパーが素晴らしい音質にて捉えてくれていました。ゆうぽうとでの録音もあれだけ卓越したクオリティでしたが、今度は文字通り「ハコ」でのギグということからこれまた素晴らしい音質。
再生ボタンを押すと一聴して解るハコっぽい臨場感とクローズな音像。今となってはクアトロのような空間でCSNがギグを敢行してくれたこと自体、もはや伝説の域と言えるのではないでしょうか。

それに本人たちもこの日のギグはまんざらでもない…それどころかクラブギグであればいつも以上に彼らの緻密なハーモニー・ワークに集中できることもあり、三人とも上機嫌どころかハイテンション。
中でもスティルスはゆうぽうとの時と比べて別人と思えるほど饒舌で、むしろ久しぶりのクラブを心から楽しんでいる様子が生々しいほどに、あるいは聞いていて笑っちゃうほどリアルに伝わってくるのも極上オーディエンスならでは。
彼の別人ぶりはギタープレイにまで如実に現れており「Deja Vu」はもとより、ライブ終盤「Wooden Ships」などは火を噴くかのごとし。それを支えるクロスビーならではのキレが冴えるカッティングもリアルに聞き取れるほどで、これもまたプレスCDレベルのクオリティ。
またナッシュは1990年に自身の写真の個展を開いた際にここで単発ギグを開いており、当然そのことにも触れてくれています。

そして95年の来日公演は日替わりナンバーがいくつもあったのが大きな魅力で、当時『CSN』ボックスで日の目を見た未発表曲「Taken At All」がステージで歌われていたのもこの年の来日公演ならではのマニアックなレパートリーとしてマニアを喜ばせたもの。
さらにクロスビーですが、ゆうぽうとのソロコーナーは「Delta」という渋め（これも魅力的でしたね）な選曲であったのに対し、この日は必殺の「Almost Cut My Hair」が当日居合わせたマニアを狂喜させたのでした。
余裕たっぷりなゆうぽうとショーと対をなすハッピーな雰囲気のギグ。当時の最新アルバム『AFTER THE STORM』から演奏された数少ないレパートリーであるビートルズ「In My Life」のカバーもハコ映えしています。
CSNが日本で実現してくれたハーモニー本領発揮のギグという至福の一夜を極上オーディエンスにてプレイバック。何よりクロスビーがまた実に楽しげで、今となっては貴重過ぎるドキュメントの極み！
