BAD COMPANY came back to Japan in 2010 for the first time in 35 years. The original recording that allows you to experience the miraculous scene at its best is a new excavation.
This work is inspired by the “October 20, 2010: Zepp Nagoya” performance. It is a super best audience recording that completely records up to his son Steve Rogers who served as the opening act. Their Live in Japan is only 8 performances in history. This is also a good opportunity, so let’s take a look back at the entire history of BAD COMPANY’s visit to Japan, while comparing it to our collection.

A total of 8 performances. The first visit to Japan in 1975 was only for one night, and you can enjoy it with our press masterpiece “BUDOKAN 1975”. After that, Paul Rodgers came to Japan as a solo and QUEEN, and finally realized his second performance as BAD COMPANY 35 years later. Thirteen years have passed since then, and it continues to be my last visit to Japan.
This work, which conveys such a historical Japan tour, is the best audience with “super”. This is an original recording given to me by the recording artist himself, but this is furiously on and direct. There is no doubt that it is an audience recording because it also absorbs lively cheers, but the close contact with zero distance, the vivid and detailed details, the splendid sense of separation…all are sound board quality. Speaking of 2010’s BAD COMPANY, they also have their official live work “LIVE AT WEMBLEY”, but it’s still as good as playing it alternately with this work (the Japan performance was a single without Mick Ralphs). ・Because it was a guitar system, the stereo feeling of twins cannot be achieved, but on the other hand, it is about the same degree).
What further enhances the feeling of a soundboard is the strangely quiet cheers from those around you. During the intervals between songs, the people around them cheer enthusiastically, but during the performance there is only modest clapping. Of course, the live performance itself is exciting, and the chorus of the chorus occurs in the representative songs, but it feels like it is far away on the other side of the performance. Although it is raw and realistic, it is an ideal live album that listens like an official work.
“Badokan@Nagoya” is depicted with such a transcendental sound, which is only once in history. Speaking of the best masterpieces that came to Japan in 2010, the Matrix album “MR. Let’s organize the sets by comparing them together.

…and it looks like this. Focusing on the three works of “BAD COMPANY,” “RUN WITH THE PACK,” and “DESOLATION ANGELS,” the band presents a selection of greatest hits from all of Paul’s albums. Although the title of “Mister Midnight” is unfamiliar, this is a new song that became a hot topic at the time. Although it remains unreleased even after 13 years, you can enjoy the valuable songs in official quality.
In addition, in this work, the stage of Paul’s son Steve, who served as the opening of the day, is recorded as a bonus at the end of DISC 2. He played and sang 7 songs, including 2 songs from his solo album “STEVE RODGERS” released in 2009. He has a beautiful and deep singing voice that is very similar to his father’s.
BAD COMPANY’s Japan performance has only happened twice in history. This is the first live album that allows you to experience the miraculous stage that was realized 35 years later. As of 2023, Paul is trying to resume his solo activities with “MIDNIGHT ROSE”, but there is no sign of BAD COMPANY’s revival, and the eyes will not be able to hope for the third time. The scene in 2010 has become more important as time passes. Please fully experience this work by the new excavation master.

35年ぶりとなる再来日を実現させた2010年のBAD COMPANY。その奇跡の現場を極上体験できるオリジナル録音が新発掘です。
そんな本作に吹き込まれているのは「2010年10月20日：Zepp名古屋」公演。前座を務めた息子スティーヴ・ロジャースまで完全収録した超極上オーディエンス録音です。彼らのライヴ・イン・ジャパンは、歴史上たった８公演のみ。良い機会でもありますので、当店コレクションと照らし合わせつつ、BAD COMPANYの来日全史を振り返ってみましょう。

以上の全８公演。1975年の初来日はたった一晩だけであり、当店のプレス名盤『BUDOKAN 1975』でお楽しみ頂けます。その後、ポール・ロジャースはソロやQUEENとして来日しつつ、BAD COMPANYとしては35年後にようやく二度目が実現。それから13年が経った今もなお、最後の来日であり続けています。
そんな歴史的なジャパン・ツアーを伝える本作は、「超」の付く極上オーディエンス。録音家本人から譲られたオリジナル録音なのですが、これが猛烈にオンでダイレクト。生々しい歓声も吸い込んでいるのでオーディエンス録音に間違いないのですが、ゼロ距離な密着感、鮮やかなで細やかなディテール、見事なセパレート感……いずれもサウンドボード級。2010年のBAD COMPANYと言えば公式ライヴ作『LIVE AT WEMBLEY』も残されているわけですが、本作と交互に再生しても負けていないくらいです（来日公演はミック・ラルフス不在のシングル・ギター体制だったのでツインのステレオ感は及びませんが、逆に言えばその程度の差です）。
さらにサウンドボード感を高めているのが不思議なほど静かな周囲の歓声。曲間になると周囲からも熱い声援が贈られますが、演奏中はささやかな手拍子のみ。もちろん、ライヴ自体は盛り上がっていて代表曲群ではサビの大合唱も起きるのですが、それが遠く演奏の向こう側のように感じられる。生々しくリアルではあるものの、聴き応えはオフィシャル作品風という理想的なライヴアルバムなのです。
そんな超絶級サウンドで描かれるのは、歴史上１回こっきりの「バドカン＠名古屋」。2010年来日の最高傑作と言えば、最終日のマトリクス・アルバム『MR. MIDNIGHT』が君臨していたのですが、実は本作はセットが異なる、ついでに（？）公式作『LIVE AT WEMBLEY』とも合わせて比較しながらセットを整理しておきましょう。

……と、このようになっています。『BAD COMPANY』『RUN WITH THE PACK』『DESOLATION ANGELS』の３作を軸としつつ、ポール時代の全アルバムから満遍なくセレクトしたグレイテスト・ヒッツを繰り広げる。「Mister Midnight」に見慣れない曲名ですが、これは当時話題となった新曲。13年を経た現在も未発表なままではありますが、その貴重曲もオフィシャル級クオリティで楽しめるのです。
なお、本作は当日オープニングを務めたポールの息子スティーヴのステージはDISC 2の最後にボーナス的に収録しています。前2009年に発表されたソロアルバム『STEVE RODGERS』からの２曲を始め、７曲を弾き語りしている。父親によく似た艶やかで滋味深い歌声を披露しています。
