超大物への切符を掴んだ“THE RAZOR’S EDGE TOUR 1990-1991”。その流出マルチカメラ・プロショットがギフト・リリース決定です。

これが“THE RAZOR’S EDGE TOUR”の概要。公式『LIVE AT DONINGTON』はツアー終盤のイギリスでしたが、本作は逆に序盤。「北米#1」の16公演目にあたるコンサートでした。
現場となった“The Palace of Auburn Hills”は、90年代初期のプロショットの宝庫とも言うべき会場で、さまざまなバンドのお宝映像が大量に撮影されています。HR/HMに近いバンドに限ってもKISSやMOTOLEY CRUE、WINGER、RUSH、JUDAS PRIEST、METALLICA、MEGADETH（PRIESTの前座）、ANTHRAXが流出している。この“Auburn Hillsプロショット”は、バンドによっては本当に公式リリースしているほどなのですが、本作は、そのAC/DC版になるわけです。
これらのタイトルの１つでもご覧になったことがある方ならピンとくると思われますが、そのクオリティは極上。冒頭「Thunderstruck」でドラムがオフになっていたり、観客席がほとんど映らない等、さすがに公式『LIVE AT DONINGTON』の一大スペクタクルには及びませんが、逆に流出ならではの生々しさが凄まじい。大歓声も遠い卓直結サウンドボードの音質、恐らくスクリーン用と思われる超ドアップ連続のアングルはド迫力。溌剌としたクリス・スレイドのドラムもグキグキと唸りを上げるマルコムのギターも脳内レベル。会場規模のスペクタクルがない代わりに、バンドと一体になるシンクロ感は『LIVE AT DONINGTON』を遙かに凌駕しているのです。
しかも、そのクオリティで描かれるショウの勢いがまた凄い。『LIVE AT DONINGTON』が巨大フェスのトリを務めた熱演だとすれば、本作は大ヒットを受けて世界の再制覇に乗り出した初期の勢い。何しろ、ワールドツアーの16公演目。まだまだ疲れなど微塵もなく、エンジンも暖まって全力運転が始まった頃です。『LIVE AT DONINGTON』も「激しいアンガスが見られる映像」として人気ですが、本作はさらに一層苛烈なアンガスの極間近にまで迫るのです。
そして、ツアー初期だからこそのセットも『LIVE AT DONINGTON』とは異なり、公式映像では観られなかった「Sin City」「Who Made Who」「The Razor’s Edge」「That’s the Way I Wanna Rock And Roll」も楽しめる。もちろん、こうした曲は『LIVE』でも聴けたわけですが、いちいち曲間フェイドする謎編集とはまったく違う一気貫通のリアリズムとマルチカメラの視界付き。特に「The Razor’s Edge」「That’s the Way I Wanna Rock And Roll」はフィル・ラッド復帰後も一切演奏されず、このツアーが最後。本作はその貴重極まるプロショットなのです。

見事に返り咲き、さらに一段上の高みに飛び上がったAC/DC。本作は、その姿を記録しきった生々しい流出プロショットの大傑作です。『LIVE AT DONINGTON』の別セット版として、『LIVE』の映像版として観ても最高な１本。どうぞ、存分にお楽しみください。
